"We are comparing their religious text to pornography."

How long will God stay his hand?

Tim   March 2nd, 2010 - 1:43 pm

This is so totally lame. These college athiest freaks need to go back into their holes.

edword   March 2nd, 2010 - 1:49 pm

I’m faaar from a “religious” guy, but I think these people are just
plain A$$HOLES.

Just provoking more anger, hatred. Showing themselves to be the worst side of the argument.

Lightning bolt? Sure, why not.

William Z   March 2nd, 2010 - 1:53 pm

Ah, the value of a college education.

Dave   March 2nd, 2010 - 1:55 pm

Have you ever tried to have an intelligent conversation with an atheist? They know so very little about their faith. (yes it takes faith to believe nothing created something, i.e. the universe)

99% of them are just religous bigots

Bowels of Benevolence   March 2nd, 2010 - 1:55 pm

I have proposed a Christian countercampaign entitled, “DON’T HATE: MASTERBATE!” to mock these atheists’ obsession with other peoples’ faiths, and to encourage them to leave other people alone and perhaps retreat into their porn chapels for a little alone time.

Barack To The Ol' Drawing Board   March 2nd, 2010 - 1:57 pm

As a atheist, let me say that these idiots are a-holes, no better than bible thumping evangelists. A true atheist does not argue if there is a God. There just isn’t to us. It would be like having a serious discussion of the Easter Bunny.

Your life is your life. If you choose to believe, have a party, but don’t push it on me. I intern will do the same.

The idea is…KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!

Atheists are the descendants of pond scum, slugs and feces-tossing apes. They are known as “Earth People” and work for their father, Satan.
Others are Pilgrims, “strangers in a strange land,” “in the Earth but not of it,” and that is the difference.
These Atheists cannot help themselves – they are doing their father’s bidding. Praying for them won’t help – they are doomed.

RogerCfromSD   March 2nd, 2010 - 2:25 pm

The issue here is that these militant “New Atheists” don’t want to live in a society where it is our right to believe as we wish. They seek to eradicate religion. This makes what they are doing anathema to the precepts of this nation’s founding.

My belief in God informs every aspect of my life. It affects what I choose to do because being a Christian means I don’t do anything I damn well please. Instead, I have to deny myself many things. Why? Because I don’t want to behave like a selfish, hedonist.

So, while I don’t plan to ever “Bible-thump”, I also don’t intend to keep my faith a secret.

These children at this university are fools in every sense of the word.

myleftbrain   March 2nd, 2010 - 2:33 pm

Try this with the Koran and what would the reaction be? Just be honest about it.

Thanks…That’s mighty Christian of you.

Don’t you wish you were the parents of these kids?
Try to explain this activity to the relatives at the family reunion this summer!!

Harry   March 2nd, 2010 - 3:02 pm

I think they should go full force and highlight and promote (perhaps advertise) the fact that they will accept the Qur’an for porn in exchange. I want them to do several on campus speeches about how the Qur’an is porn and that Muhammad is a porn star. Lets see how long until the death threats start. Lets see if all religions are equal opportunity for bashing.

Barack To The Ol' Drawing Board   March 2nd, 2010 - 3:05 pm

I’m an atheist and a conservative, and I despise Alinsky.

So put that in your swinging purse and smoke it.

matt   March 2nd, 2010 - 3:23 pm

I’m a Christian, I also happen to attend UTSA. There’s a sound mix of muslims, Christians, agnostics and atheists on campus. A good many of us found Atheist Agenda’s display more amusing than offensive.
Sin is sin. If you are in an unrepentant state, you are just as damned as someone swapping bibles for porno.
There was an enjoyable debate between religious members of the crowd and members of the Atheist Agenda, I wish that would have made it onto camera.

jp   March 2nd, 2010 - 3:24 pm

It’s always fun to stop in and view the freak show that constitutes the majority of simple minded comments on this site. These “so caled” Atheists are acting like morons. But the statements from the “religous” in here are so entertaining. You make up a god with the required bullshit story and then conduct yourselves exactly 180 degrees away from what you say he stands for. These students are misguided but you all are pathetic.

Chris   March 2nd, 2010 - 3:46 pm

Clearly the only reason they’re doing this is to get attention. Time and time again the media broadcasting immature college students getting caught up in things of which they have no true knowledge. Ignore them and they’ll just go try to find some other way to make the news.

At least they’re not shooting up campus or churches that’s all I’ve got to say.

Psychic   March 2nd, 2010 - 3:58 pm

I saw a Quran on that table. It won’t be long before members of the Atheist Agenda are hiding out with Salman Rushdie.

Justvisiting   March 2nd, 2010 - 4:10 pm

The final answer will be had when we die, As a believer; if when I die I find out that what I believed was a lie, I lose nothing. But if it’s true, then I gain everything. The atheist on the other hand, if they’re wrong, looses nothing, but if I’m right, then they loose everything. By my reckoning, I have a 50% chance of winning, while the atheist has a 100% chance of loosing. I’ll take the better odds any day.

yourplastic   March 2nd, 2010 - 4:20 pm

There was a time when I would have joined in and had a laugh with the athiests, so I get it. But I would also like to caution these young people that you have a lot of life ahead of you, and it’s obvious that there are many important things you have yet to discover. Someday the truth will become undeniable to you…will you be prepared to accept it? I mocked God, too, and was shown my error and repented…

yourplastic   March 2nd, 2010 - 4:25 pm

@justvisiting – I wanted to point out “justvisiting’s” argument is also known as “Pascal’s wager” for those who may be interested.

Pascals Wager is a poor reason to believe in fairy tales that take a heavy toll on the rest of mankind. Accepting poverty, hunger, war and ill will to your fellow man is all forgiven if we make the right bet right ??

Drayton   March 2nd, 2010 - 6:36 pm

Yes, they did have a Quran on their table so they are exchanging porn for the Holy documents of the “religion of peace.”

They should take their porn exchange show on the road. Texas might be a bit safe for this stunt. Try Michigan.

Charles   March 2nd, 2010 - 7:19 pm

Athiests, liberal and their ilk….scum of the earth. Disgusting.

demdicks   March 2nd, 2010 - 8:06 pm

I think what this all comes down to is not faith or lack thereof, it’s the screaming and stupid in your face activism. There are atheists I know, as well as the various religious faiths that just don’t go around announcing what they belive on a bullhorn and prosteletizing. They just belive, or don’t but they do it quietly.

demdicks   March 2nd, 2010 - 8:08 pm

I do know how to spell believe…lol
prostheletize? not so much

Bingo   March 2nd, 2010 - 8:22 pm

Hey there folks, there are plenty of conservative atheists – I know because I’m one and I know a lot of folks like me.

Scuff   March 2nd, 2010 - 8:42 pm

Suggestion. Why don’t these guys also offer porn in exchange for Korans?

Typical Libs. Don’t ridicule others beliefs! (unless you’re sure that they won’t fight back of course).

Let me see them do this to a devout Muslim crowd and see how long they keep their heads attached.

yaaaawn   March 2nd, 2010 - 9:08 pm

Yawn. It must suck to be so desperate for attention.

RogerCfromSD   March 2nd, 2010 - 9:21 pm

jp falls into the New Atheist category: condescending, arrogant, and pretty much useless.

supdog   March 2nd, 2010 - 9:22 pm

“Suggestion. Why don’t these guys also offer porn in exchange for Korans?”
They did, it was ANY religious text. There were a couple on the table.

But hey, being a bigot is what god’s about, right?

linnx   March 2nd, 2010 - 9:51 pm

So exploiting women and kids is what atheists stand for?

Mr. Hello   March 2nd, 2010 - 9:58 pm

Most Christians have never completely read and/or fully comprehend what the Bible has to say because a) The translations they grew up with were in Early Modern English. b) The books/chapters were written by many authors with very different agendas, which Biblical scholars confirm. c) The books/chapters have been rewritten/edited/erased several times since Revelation was written; which again, Biblical scholars confirm.

If you really want to know what your Bible says, what the word of God really is, visit…

http://skepticsannotatedbible.com

There are links to many different online translations, you can even get out your Bible and read along. And for those who say atheists/agnostics are always only disparaging the Bible, there are links to the Koran and Book Of Mormon as well.

Know who you are praying to, who you are praising.

Dave, Tn   March 2nd, 2010 - 10:38 pm

Not all atheists are a$$holes but I’m pretty sure these atheists are all a$$holes. bahahaha
Why porn for religious text? They couldn’t come up with something more “enlightening” to swap?

RogerCfromSD   March 2nd, 2010 - 11:32 pm

Mr. Hello, we don’t need people like you to “inform” us about who we are praising.

Study of the Bible, history, and human nature is about all one needs to be informed.

But, thanks for caring.

Jimmy   March 3rd, 2010 - 12:13 am

Well I have some bibles i would love to trade for porn – no use for the bible but i look at porn so… whats so wrong with this. Also I think that christians misunderstand atheists they seem to think that atheists don’t see or understand the bible, the story, the ressurection forgiveness of sins and all that — just because we are atheists doesn’t mean we cant understand your position. It’s just we oppose it as wrong on so many levels.

Helaman   March 3rd, 2010 - 12:27 am

1 And thus we can behold how false, and also the unsteadiness of the hearts of the children of men; yea, we can see that the Lord in his great infinite goodness doth bless and prosper those who put their trust in him.

2 Yea, and we may see at the very time when he doth prosper his people, yea, in the increase of their fields, their flocks and their herds, and in gold, and in silver, and in all manner of precious things of every kind and art; sparing their lives, and delivering them out of the hands of their enemies; softening the hearts of their enemies that they should not declare wars against them; yea, and in fine, doing all things for the welfare and happiness of his people; yea, then is the time that they do harden their hearts, and do forget the Lord their God, and do trample under their feet the Holy One—yea, and this because of their ease, and their exceedingly great prosperity.

3 And thus we see that except the Lord doth chasten his people with many afflictions, yea, except he doth visit them with death and with terror, and with famine and with all manner of pestilence, they will not remember him.

- Helaman 12: 1-3, The Book of Mormon – Another Testament of Jesus Christ

RogerCfromSD   March 3rd, 2010 - 1:35 am

Jimmy, if you don’t believe, that is your prerogative.

However, it is not your place, nor do you, or any other atheist have the legal right to “oppose” Christians for being “Christian”.

This is America. Freedom of Religion shall not be infringed. Period.

What exactly is the goal of atheists? God is and always has been intrinsic to this nation’s traditions and governance. No one wants a theocracy, but to deny God’s relevance to this nation’s history is to deny fact.

Already, atheists have managed to litigate God from much of society, but again, this is America. Unlike European countries, the Constitution and America do not treat God and religion as bad things. Only amoral people do. And, look what state our society is in, as a result.

Face it. We will now actively challenge the continued denigration of Christianity and God by the ACLU and other anti-American groups. This includes atheist groups who seek to eliminate religion from society. Not going to happen.

Mr. Hello Again   March 3rd, 2010 - 2:09 am

RogerCfromSD, don’t be scared to read the Bible. Is your faith as not rock solid as you think it is?

I know you didn’t visit the site, because the other things you listed were “all you need”, but do yourself a favor and do it. If you are as strong in your faith like you believe you are, you won’t have any problem reading any of the verses out of the Good Book from the viewpoint of a skeptic or the viewpoint of someone with an open mind. If you really do “study the Bible”, you are doing yourself a disservice by not reading it in a different context; it can be like a homework assignment, you can bring up the verses in your Bible study group, or to your preacher or priest, and get their take on it.

RogerC read the Bible, study the Bible, know your Bible; understand what it actually says, not only the good things the preachers or you cherry pick out of it.

Again, you can get out your OWN Bible and look up the verses it lists. They are all 100% in the Bible, there are no parodies or lies.

Jeremy   March 3rd, 2010 - 2:39 am

“mr. hello” Do you really want to down grade the Bible like that, If you do not believe the bible is the true word of God,then you are a fool.

You are willing to take a mans perspective on what is right in the bible over Gods promise to provide His word. You better rethink your position.

Whatwhatwhat   March 3rd, 2010 - 4:18 am

This must be the atheist version of the rethug students affirmative action bake sale.

BigMac   March 3rd, 2010 - 6:54 am

How and when on earth did we Christians all become Bible thumpers?
And why do most atheists hate all Christians with such a huge degree of venom?

The majority of us are not evangelical, “Bible thumpers” and don’t force our religion on anyone and would prefer if atheists would just keep their hate to themselves.
I have friends who are atheist or agnostic and others who are “thumpers,” but the difference is: none of them go to websites and force their views, insult others or stand in public and propagate more hatred with actions like those a$$holes in the video.

Cam   March 3rd, 2010 - 11:51 am

I don’t understand why those who don’t believe in God care if others do. If there is no God than nothing they say or do matters. If they are right then why fight religion we will all die one day the lights will go out and we won’t be aware of it. I think the real motive is that they hate God and want to turn others against Him. Why else do fight it?

Jeremy   March 3rd, 2010 - 12:07 pm

“Big mac” If you are not a bible thumper, how can you call yourself a christian. You are worse then an atheist.

RogerCfromSD   March 3rd, 2010 - 12:25 pm

Mr. Hello, why are you instructing me to read the Bible? You are assuming I don’t already do so.
Is there something about my Monday night Bible Study meetings I don’t know about?

Do you read the Bible. Doubtful. Very doubtful.

Paul   March 3rd, 2010 - 2:57 pm

There’s a simple way to get rid of this and it should probably be done in the name of teaching people who do stupid things to stop doing stupid things. Isn’t it illegal to hand out porn to minors? Is it possible that there are some 15 or 16 year olds on campus, the product of homeschooling or skipping a grade or two? Just film the swap and call the cops. They’ll shut it down after a few of them are hauled off in cuffs.

Markus Aurelius   March 3rd, 2010 - 3:36 pm

Are there any atheists on Airplanes with engine trouble?

Mr. Hello Again   March 3rd, 2010 - 5:28 pm

RogerCFromSD and any other Christians reading this, answer these questions for me.

Why did the only righteous man left, Lot, offer up his 2 virgin daughters to sodomites in order to protect his angel visitors? Genesis 19:8

Why doesn’t God allow the handicapped and ill to visit the temple(church)? “For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous, Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded, Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed…Only he shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I the LORD do sanctify them.” Leviticus 21:18 – 21:23

What about? – “And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.” Exodus 21:17 “For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.” Leviticus 20:9

There are hundreds more questions like that. Just answer those 3, please. I thank you for your prompt response. And remember, no answer can be The Old Testament God is different from the New Testament God. God is omnipotent and omnipresent (can do anything, knows everything that will happen).

Jeremy   March 4th, 2010 - 2:36 am

First, let me ask this question, what point are you trying to prove.

1st. therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. Lot held responsibilities in sodom, gate keeper, he would have to take care of them knowing the evil of the city, once they came under the protection of Lot he would do anything to protect them, different customs at that time, I know I wouldnt offer my daughters to them, plus he knew they were a bunch of queers and would not want them anyway.

2nd Did you forget a few versus. 21. no man that hath a blemish from the seed of Aaron , 22, he shall eat the bread of his God 23, only he shall not go in unto the vail.
FOR ONE THING, lets look into the Book, Leviticus, The tribe of Levi is the priests of Israel, In these versus he is talking to the priests not to everyone, I love how you pick and choose your versus.
God wants the priest to be pure, read the whole chapter or how about the whole book.

3rd. God is the same then and now I agree, but ye do err not knowing the scriptures, rightly dividing the word of truth, They are living by jewish laws laid down from God, hey thats pretty rough, I know, But that is what God wanted, who are you to question His ways, He created you did you forget, who cares what you think.
But when Jesus Christ came he put an end to the law, did you forget to read the New Testament. God picked Israel to be his people, to live by His commandments, A theocracy, but they failed. Now the Gospel has come to all the gentiles “Jesus Christ” If you think the bible is not the inerrant word of God, then my friend I would hate to see your future.

Dwarsbongel   March 7th, 2010 - 4:55 pm

Sin is an invention of mankind…

Milwaukee Progressive Examiner   May 2nd, 2010 - 11:07 pm

As an atheist, I don’t necessary agree with this approach. But the point is to show that the bible is necessary a good book. There is a lot of violence and sex in the bible and the deity of the bible if not always opposed to it. Sometimes he commands it.
