At the same press conference, I was trying to figure out it Obama had a mark also. I kept reminding myself that he wasn’t Catholic and that he still did not have a church after a year in DC. I am guessing that he really did get those ashes from St. Joseph’s on Capital Hill. I used to go there almost daily when I worked on CH and routinely saw pro-abortion politicians showing up on days of obligation (and Ash Wednesday). I will never forget Chris Dodd and Ted Kennedy going to receive Communion HOURS after they voted against the Partial Birth Abortion Ban (during the Clinton days). Yes, folks. There are priests who wouldn’t dare question these politicians when they know exactly who they are and what they believe in. The pastor at the time was yucking it up with Kennedy right after that Mass.
Anglicans, Episopalians and the Church of England observe Ash Wednesday as well. Apparently the secularization of the UK is more prevalent than we are led to believe. *wink*

I was going to vote for her; but then she comes out with a response of not having read everything (or something to that affect) on whether the U.S. was responsible for 9/11. So much for her. I’m voting for the lesser of two evils–Perry–because he is pro-life and Hutchinson is pro-choice. You good Catholics who will be voting make note of that; don’t be like many people at my church during the ‘08 elections when our pastors kept saying to vote pro-life–then afterwards saying I didn’t know we shouldn’t vote for Obama. Pay attention to the homilies. One other thing, let’s keep our comments Catholic/christian.

Many may think it is a target for the sharpshooters scope. This mark is usually reserved for devotely religious so this has puzzled me too. Since muslims do not observe this religious holiday, Obama is not shown with a mark. Oh, I forgot “they haven’t chosen a church yet”!

It is so irritating to see psuedo catholics like Joe continue to act like the rules of the church are for us peons, not them. I can’t imagine how they justify it to themselves. But then, anyone who can be part of the culture of death are worlds apart morally from those of us who believe in the sanctity of life and so can not possible understand each other. As a Catholic I find the beauty in this whole clip is what she says at the end about knowing now she is a bad Catholic, she now knows it is Ash Wednesday and she hangs her head in shame. This statement is the most powerful thing being said in clip. I am willing to bet this will cause her to reflect on her faith and how she had been raised Catholic and how far away she is from the Catholic. Will it cause her to run to confession and start going to church every Sunday…assuming she doesnt’ because she didn’t know it was Ash wed…had she, she might of had some on her own forehead…but going on, she now has been confronted with her lack of community in the CAtholic Church. I will pray the Holy Spirit upon her giving her the wisdom to ask for the grace from God to see clearly how far away she is the Catholic Church and to return in full communion. Not for much longer. You seem to forget that the EPA shut off the “taps” because of a tiny fish that isn’t even native to CA. There are thousands of acres of land collecting dust. If you would have actually “listened” to some of the things Mr O’Reilly was saying, you may have actually learned something. It doesn’t take much to understand CA politics. When a state has more debt than most countries, there is a problem. Yet, they still continue to spend. As to Mr Biden and his practice of his “faith”, God will judge him, when he stands before him. While I am a strong believer of the idea that I have no control over those who are not Catholic, I do have, over those who come to me for the Sacraments. We are all flawed, but it is the epidemy of arrogance to publicly disregard the teachings of the faith you “claim” to hold. I pray for him and all of the others. And Terry, it is not the sign of a cult to outwardly practice your faith. It is symbollic.
