Annoyed Obama Has ‘No Regrets’ Over Mosque Comments

Answering a reporter's question at a political event in Columbus, Ohio, the president initially paused, then turned to a TV camera and said, "The answer is — no regrets."

The President appeared somewhat terse and annoyed at the question.

Now why would the Muslim-in-Chief regret supporting terrorism and anti-American symbolism?

Obama has temporarily destroyed our nation, but in doing so, has revealed the true evil of the Left to everyone. He's the darkness before the light. And, he is the gift that keeps on giving for the GOP. Hopefully, it doesn't screw up after November.

Well, comrade MaoBama, we will have no regrets voting most of your power out from under you in November and voting YOU out of office in 2012 along with most the rest of your power base in Congress.

kmichaels   August 18th, 2010 - 10:27 am

There is not too much wisdom in the first clause of the 14th amendment. Even
senile old fart Harry Reid stated that no country in their right mind would
give citizenship to babies of illegals.

Thankfully the US constitution has given us the legal means to change
the constitution when reason and logic permits. It may not be an
easy change but it would be well worth it.

After all, it was DEMOCRATS that opposed the 14th amendment
in the first place. And it was Republicans that saw a logical need
for it at the time, namely allowing children of black slaves an
easy path to citizenship. However, it is currently unwise
since it is now a technical loophole to give citizenship to
the babies of two illegal alien parents. This was never what
it was designed for so the first clause of the 14th amendment
is now counterproductive.

NYCarchitect   August 18th, 2010 - 10:29 am

Good answer.
This is a stupid political ploy by the Republicans and a hypocritical one at that. They spent the entirety of last year extolling the virtues of Main Street over Wall Street and preaching freedom over government interaction. And now every Republican from Florida to Alaska thinks they get to weigh in on whether or not a private developer can build a building in New York City? I don't think so.

You again! (no really–how are you my friend? ;)

I accept his answer as well (at least for once he isnt lying, haha). But seriously–how hard can it be to understand that the circumstances surrounding this particular plan could have individuals (such as myself) upset regardless of political affiliation? Not sure what you mean by a republican ploy. I certainly didn't get a phone call from Newt asking me to be angry about it. Do I hate moderate Muslims? No –but I think this is a very misguided, insensitive and foolish idea anyway, and I remember waiting and waiting for some show of support and solidarity from the American muslims after 911 and….well I recall nothing of the sort.. I dont care if they build it, but why there? Paterson offers to meet and discuss a (federally funded?) alternate and they won't even see him….hmm. Seems like that location has "special" importance to them.,,,which I find very odd and disturbing. Anyway, that is my take. And yes, for sure I agree with the Republicans on this one. Cannot see how your argument alluding to apparent hypocrisy over "government action" has any relevance to this situation.

kmichaels   August 18th, 2010 - 11:05 am

The 1st Amendment does not guarantee a religion a given location
in a given city. It is also a restriction on federal congress, not the
state of NYC. Nevertheless, even if the state's own constitution
is identical to that of the US federal constitution, it does not matter
since it is a discretionary zoning issue.

But the bottom line is that you are a liberal, a troll, a general asshole
and pretty much a lying self serving prick. So why should we take

NYCarchitect   August 18th, 2010 - 11:10 am

Ok, lot of ways to answer your question here. The easiest would be to simply say that this city is not like any other place in the country. We have a bigger immigrant population than the entire population of the 2nd biggest city in the US. Suffice it to say, people have very different thoughts about… everything. Some people are upset. Some people don't care. Some people think it's a good thing.
The way this city works, and the thing that's so great about it is exactly what Mayor Bloomberg (a former Republican, mind you) keeps repeating: TOLERANCE.
You may not have gotten a call from Newt personally, but you're on this website, aren't you? You can't be so naive as to think this isn't just a cog in the machine, no less important than Newt himself.
To clarify "freedom over government interaction" – I mean the Republican claim that individuals, states, the market, etc, all regulate themselves better than the federal government can. It's hypocritical to now expect the Obama administration to restrict the zoning of a particular parcel of land in a city, when it has no authority to do so.

amanuensis   August 18th, 2010 - 11:10 am

Imam Hussein takes it both ways. Our first AC/DC Imam. "I was for the terrorist mosk before I was neutral on it."
I still can't imagine people living in lower Manhattan hearing the 9/11 terrorist's final words blasting from the terrorist tower of hate 5 times a day proclaiming: "alihu akbar" the terrorist's final words. All homicide killers shout these words as they kill Americans, Christians and Jews. It is their last word.

It is a cry of victory over America. Give them their terrorist tower and we are admitting we have lost the war against the death cult who worship the moon god, el-ilah, aka Ba'al.

It's either Satan or Jesus. Bloomberg has voted for Satan. He and his kind have already killed Jesus a while back.

kmichaels   August 18th, 2010 - 11:14 am

NYCabby, always quick with the idiotic strawman arguments and ever-equipped with his typical lies.

Let me set you straight, idiot drooler.

Conservatives believe in the rights of the people first and foremost. We are happy with religious freedoms for one and all yet we readily understand that we can't necessarily get community ok to build our churches, synagogs, mormon temples and mosques where-ever we choose. We understand common decency and practice considerate community interactions.

So, the people believe in free enterprise. Great, so do we. So, the people believe that this is a muslim trophy mosque, so do we. So, the people believe that this mosque, if sincere, can easily be built at a respectable distance. So do we. All of this is consistent with freedom, wisdom, common decency and respect for religions.

Now, what is NYCabbies view? Well, if you hear his past comments, he hates Christians with a fervor, he is not hardly fond of Jews and he cant stand conservatives. But he wants us to think that it is he that is tolerant and it is he that is in favor of religious freedoms. No, this asshole NYCabby would be the first to agree that Christians should not participate openly in political discussions, especially from their pulpits. He has this idiotic idea that his denial of religious freedoms is ok, but conservatives recommending that muslims would be better served to be cognizant of open wounds and build their mosque elsewhere is a sign of a dark evil nature of conservatives.

NYCabby is a liar. He lies to us, he lies to himself. And his motivation is political power. He is a political whore, whoring himself in public, purposely lying, purposely misrepresenting the facts and being a general asshole. This is what liberals are. There is no changing their spots. They are self serving selfish inconsistent hypocritical small minded small-souled assholes.

NYCarchitect   August 18th, 2010 - 11:16 am

NYCabby claims …
"Who is hurt? New Yorkers? New Yorkers aren't hurt. New Yorkers support the mosque by a vast majority"

From an NBC story …

A majority of New Yorkers oppose plans to build a mosque and Muslim cultural center two blocks from Ground Zero, according to a Quinnipiac University Poll released Thursday.

Fifty-two percent of the respondents said they did not want the mosque to be built at all,
31 percent are in favor of it,
and 17 percent are undecided.

"New York enjoys a reputation as one of the most tolerant places in America, but New Yorkers are opposed to a proposal to build a mosque two blocks from Ground Zero," said Quinnipiac University Polling Institute Director Maurice Carroll in a press release.

A majority of New Yorkers remain opposed to a mosque proposed as part of a planned Islamic cultural center near ground zero, and the issue will be a factor for many voters this fall, according to a statewide poll released Wednesday.

The Siena College poll showed 63 percent of New York voters surveyed oppose the project, with 27 percent supporting it. That compares with 64 percent opposed and 28 percent in favor two weeks earlier, results that are within the polls' sampling margins.

Democrats nationwide, including President Barack Obama, have defended the proposal as protected by the Constitution's guarantee of religious freedom. Many Republicans have called it an affront to the memory of those killed in the Sept. 11 attacks.

A CNN/Opinion Research poll released last week found that nearly 70 percent of Americans opposed the mosque plan, while 29 percent approved.

If so I think it is more than naive to think that it is, to be completely honest. I don't need a republican to tell me what to think about it. I think it stinks on ice regardless.

TOLERANCE. Hmmm. Tolerance. How much "tolerance" do the utterly intolerant deserve? (We conservatives are commonly referred to by liberals as being intolerant. Well, I sure don't feel much "tolerance" from them!). My point is, Islam is the epitome of intolerance. Are we in agreement there? Well, I don't offer them my tolerance in return. You may point too the intolerance of certain Christian chrurchs, which I do not agree with…but it ain't exactly apples to oranges you would have to admit.

What I don't think you and other Dems realize is that there are a LOT of us who do not fit into your tidy little box labeled "RICH GREEDY CHURCHGOING GUN TOTING WAR MONGERING TERRORIST NAZI " and that attitude has a lot to do with our becoming completely at odds with you folks. Its the same with the tea party – heck a bunch of those folks voted for Clinton I can tell you that for a fact. The out-of-control spending, corruption and lies of this adminisration far exceed anything I have ever seen in my life. Tell me–what on earth do you find good about mr. Obama? now there is a long discussion i fear.

More specifically, all the hijackers were muslim islamic men that believed in the concept of Islamic inspired Jihad. Stupid spinning prick that you are.

Associated Press
ALBANY — The latest poll shows most New Yorkers remain opposed to a mosque proposed as part of an Islamic cultural center to be built a couple blocks from ground zero and that the issue will be a factor for many voters this fall.

The Siena College poll shows 63 percent of the voters surveyed oppose the project, with 27 percent supporting it. That compares to 64 percent opposed and 28 percent in favor two weeks ago, but that difference is within the poll's margin of error.

How much does George Soros and his front organizations pay you to troll and harrass the folks on conservative forums with your unfunny, witless comments?

Grow up, start being a man, get a haircut and get a real job.

Like I said, you're a god damned liar.
All polls taken from well respected pollsters
are showing the same basic results that
Quinnipiac polls are showing. That
the vast majority of New Yorkers are
AGAINST THIS MOSQUE.

You sad pathetic little piece of shit.

It is not even about respect. It is not about rights, for that matter. It is not about property rights. It is not about insensitivity.
IT IS ABOUT AN ACT OF WAR AND THE ATTACKERS CLAIMING VICTORY AND THE BATTLEGROUND AS THEIR OWN. THIS IS THE RELIGION OF PEACE, REMEMBER? So, they will peacefully let us hand over our country to them. Just as a victor in a battle puts his flag on the field, this enemy puts his "flag", the mosque.

Please read, all of it, with the links, and let us know how this has anything to do with the constitution? Come back and discuss each item in the article without falling back on any arguments using the words republican, rights, constitution, property, forgiveness, foxnews, main street, wall street, etc. Discuss the article without framing the issues mentioned in the paper to fit your world view.

Now, you may agree with the article, then say so. But many people, of late, after studying (some staying up 24+ hours reading) are sick to their stomach because of what they are now just beginning to see has happened and they helped, with good intentions, but nonetheless helped sell our country to a foreign entity.
