O'Really?   January 28th, 2010 - 7:35 am

I love the right wing wack jobs. They do everything to obstruct, delay, deny, or otherwise inhibit progress and THEN they complain that, “It would be nice if he actually did something”.

They employed the same strategy with regard to stem cell research, essentially blocking the most promising lines of study and then said, “See…this is all overblown. Nothing has come out of it”. Maybe if you clowns would stop saying, “No”, and start pitching in we would see “something” happen.

Tom   January 28th, 2010 - 7:51 am

After one year the metric is not what he says but what he does. They are in the campaign mode and have no plan otherwise. Let’s reconvene in a year and see what happens in the interim…..

claspur   January 28th, 2010 - 7:56 am

O’Really….

We should support government taking over 1/7th of the economy for a govt. run healthcare system, right? You must be out of your mind?
Oh well, that HC bill is dead on the vine now anyway.

If Maobummercorn is doing such a bang-up job, why are Dems publically gripeing-now about how He’s running the show?(Drudge article, upper left this am on the site home page)((hint…they’re scared chitless for their political careers))

You wondering why(what’s the head count now, btw…?)the liberal Dems are dropping-out (“quitting”) to run for re-election for mid-terms?
That’s because they want to jump from Maobummercorn’s listing ship of marxists.

No….the lib-Dems in DC have never been obstructionists (a “party of No”) against the Repubs, have they?

Today, why don’t you go out and try to grab yourself a clue, Bub?

testicular man   January 28th, 2010 - 8:01 am

O’Really, let’s face up to the fact that your little man Obamby and his little democratic left wing hack congress are amateurs and you simply can’t stand the fact that normal American people are saying “no more” to his stupid little shenanigans like Healthcare and the likes. Even those who voted for Obamboozler agreed that the man child president is a do nothing president. So wake up you doofus and get with the program, the program with the right to dissent from a humongous failure of a president because all you do is blame others for your moronic little president.

NoMoBama   January 28th, 2010 - 8:07 am

Just Pres. Opompousass’ usual pimp and phoney show.
And the libtards keep twitching (and apparently yawning) in their seats as their pathetic and lying affirmative action messiah vows to push forward with his unAmerican socialist/communist agenda. Why are the Republicans (and the majority of TRUE Americans) getting in the way of Opompousass’ attempt at totalitarianism? Can’t we all see that Opompousass has our best interest at heart? Geeeez.

checkit   January 28th, 2010 - 8:13 am

O’Really? and all the other in denial dem liberals for 4 years you have had the power in congress, and for the last 2 Years The dems have had complete control, senate, house and president. TOTAL CONTROL the Super 60 vote majority to do as the dems needed. IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE REPUBLICANS TO BLOCK ANY BILL FOR 2 YEARS, THAT IS A 100% FACT.

So to say the Republicans blocked or stalled anything shows yours and your other lib friends total ignorance.

The fact is they had total control and could not do anything but run the debt up, and invade peoples lives / government control and spend spend spend. They do NOT have a clue what they are doing.

Rob   January 28th, 2010 - 8:15 am

O’Really, if you weren’t lying through your teeth, you might have a point. Nothing wrong with blocking bad policies and even less wrong with calling him out on good policies that he doesn’t deliver on.

Tired of hearing about the stem cell research, that is a lie that keeps getting recycled. It was never stopped during Bush’s time in office, he simply denied taxpayer money for creating new fetuses for the purpose of killing them. In addition, if people have the option to save cord blood to later use the stem cells contained in it, that alone is a source kept secret since not everyone chooses to pay for it to be stored away. In addition, embryonic stem cells can be grown in cultures whereas adult stem cells is not yet effectively accomplished. Bush’s policy of not creating babies to kill them had no effect whatsoever on stem cell research. Move along.

checkit   January 28th, 2010 - 8:16 am

oops last 1 year total control of the three. forgot obama only in so far one year, fills like 2 sorry. But the fact remains dems have had total control for th elast year and total congressional senate house last 2 years.

kdizzydaze   January 28th, 2010 - 8:16 am

O’really?
The progress that you claim Obama wants is actually socialism. So yeah, if you want to call us right wing whack jobs obstructionists, then have a ball.
As for stem cell research – us right wing whack jobs didn’t ban fetal stem cell research – allw e asked was not to fund it with federal tax dollars. FYI, at thais point any individual state can use state tax dollars to fund fetal stem cell research if they choose. They don’t, however, and you know why? it. Oh, and the kicker? Becasue fetal stem cell research has done little to nothing in the form of advancements or cures for any illness or disease. However, us right wing whack jobs are all for adult stem cell research which, by the way, has provided numerous advances in medical research and potential for cures to debilitating diseases.
Quit bringing up the old dogmas that have divided us for years and start thinking rationally and working with us right wing whack jobs. C’mon, join the team, you know you want to.

Mark   January 28th, 2010 - 8:21 am

President Obama’s State of the Union address was poorly thought out, not terribly well executed, and, in the end, tremendously ineffective.

It was also terribly inappropriate when he openly encouraged belligerent reaction against the Supreme Court with the Justices sitting in the chamber. It was a cheap shot, and multiple constitutionalists and scholars believe it may have violated the spirit embodied in our government’s commitment to the separation of powers.

Add to this stemwinder of a speech that he will work towards an unhealthy and unsafe environment for homosexuals in our nation’s military ranks.

He closed the sale by announcing yet another deadline for terrorists in Iraq to bide their time for, specifically August of 2010.

It was messy, incoherent, disorganized, and most regrettably defiant.

DA BEARRRS   January 28th, 2010 - 8:22 am

That was unfair. Obama has done a lot.

He have given terrorists the same rights as an apprehended shoplifter.

He has repatriated hundreds of Muslim Terrorists back to the Middle East to try again.

He has spent us into debt to the tune of $40,000 for every man, woman and child in the U.S.A. with no tangible results.

He has reduced us to serfs of Red China.

I could go on, but I think that is enough to correct this misconception.

kdizzydaze   January 28th, 2010 - 8:26 am

Checkit –
Actually the dems have had control for over three years. And don’t forget that Bush had Spector and jumpin’ Jim Jeffords on his watch. Not to mention McCain, Snowe and Chaffee – the guy never had a majority in the senate.

And on an entirely unrelated note. I love how the Dems want to tell us how stupid Bush was. It tells me that they actually believe that there is somebody out there who can “rule” over us all and tell us what to do so we can blindly follow them. Isn’t that communism? Why don’t they all move to Venezuela then adn check it out?.

O’Really, Your lobotomy is complete. He is an empty suit–the economy could have been on fire by now had he actually done anything a capitalist would do. As for the healthcare situation–it’s a scam to take ownership of those too feeble-minded to know whose responsibility it is to provide that for themselves. Nobody gets to be six forever. Get a job, buy insurance, and take your eyes off the fruits of MY labor and do what the adults, not the Demmunists, tell you.

I love the GOP response. “We are for measured, controlled reforms”. Oh? Then why didn’t you propose them when you were the dominant party in Washington? If you had proposed something (ANYTHING!) during the Bush Administration you would have some room for criticism. When the Democrats try to ram legislation down your throats you dopes complain about the lack of “bipartisanship” (as if the GOP ever embraced THAT idea!) and if they try to build a consensus, you complain about a “lack of progress”. Can’t have it both ways, boys.

But you aren’t partisan, are you?

How can a foreign born national, Obama, (anyway you call him Hawaiian or Kenyan) his father was a black African native, making him foreign, a Indonesian adoptee), get the hell up on stage, the floor of House of this great nation, America, and insult the Supreme Court, the entire nation, blame Pres. Bush, the Republicans for his mistakes and get a standing ovation from the Demoncrats, is unbelievable to me.

They are cowards and sheep, leading us to slaughter, and no smarter than chickens getting their heads cut-off, who want the general public to follow and believe them.

These overfed pigs; some call politicians, are nothing but overpaid blow hearts, with privileges of royalty, voters bestow upon them.

Unless they are voted out soon, like Scot Brown’s victory, they will destroy America irrevocably, plain and simple as that.

I’m a simple old “cowboy”. Made my most amazing discoveries about how people react from training horses. You see, in the race horse industry they teach the horse to run through the bridle. If you have ever watched the Kentucky Derby you have seen the jockey with a death grip on the bridle reins pulling backwards, view the horses head and you see its mouth agape, stregning at the bit, hence running through the bit. Unknowing people purchase retired race horses that didn’t really make the grade, with the hope of being either Roy Rogers, or the girl in National Velvet. The problems arise the first time things start going to fast and they try to stop the horse by pulling back on the reins…..end result run away horse. Analogy: President Obama is like the race horse, he has spent his entire career running (campaign mode) for an office of some sort. He has never completed a race. (also rans) He has moved from one race to another with no real accomplishment, until he landed the big one. Now he is in a bind, things are getting out of hand, the riders are pulling back on the reins trying to stop the run-away, but the horse is resorting to its stable datum……run, run,(campaign) run. Finally, as seen at race tracks around the country, the outriders, the folks on other horse catch up to the tireing race horse and bring it to a stop. The defection of moderate democrats are like the outriders, the retirement of many of the long term members of the senate and congress remind me of riders who see the disaster coming and rather that be in the major wreak jump of the run away horse. You can learn alot about politicians just watching a horse race.

O’Really,

I can tell you’re not the brightest bulb, but if you have an IQ in excess of room temperature you would know that the GOP is constantly trying to buy votes with my liberty by spewing plenty of crippling regulations of their own. Do the words “McCain – Feingold” mean anything to you?

What most Progressives cannot get through their skull is that congress will NEVER legislate away Poverty. They will NEVER legislate away racism. NEVER legislate away crime. NEVER legislate away white collar greed getting in the way of ethics. NEVER legislate away evil.

You are in Year Five of Democratic control of congress. For the past year you’ve had carte blanche to pass any Progressive regulation you want.

Why is there still poverty?
Why is there still racism?
Why is there still crime?
Why is there still greed?
Why is there still evil?

When Republicans don’t solve every problem in the world, it’s the Republican’s fault.

When Democrats don’t solve every problem in the world, it’s the Republican’s fault.

O'Really?   January 28th, 2010 - 10:39 am

And which facts are those, O’ Brilliant One?

Ted in Japan   January 28th, 2010 - 10:40 am

To O’Really,

That guy who said he wants Obama to get things done sounds like no Right-winger that I know. “Getting things done” usually means passing new legislation. And passing new legislation usually means bigger government. We “right wing whack jobs” are certainly not for bigger government. If we don’t “obstruct, delay, deny, or inhibit” government, then it will “obstruct, delay, deny, or inhibit” us.

As for the issue of embryonic stem cell research, the way I understand it is this: It’s a loser of a method that offers few promising results and attracts little in the way of private funding. And, oh yeah, the ethics of creating human life for the purpose of destroying it are profoundly questionable. We, on the right, are interested in letting research dollars flow naturally to the science that is most deserving of it. But Leftists would rather have the government interfere with the free market and force the money to flow in directions it doesn’t want to flow… which is exactly what they did when their Community Reinvestment Act forced banks to give house loans to unqualified people.

But thanks to those who said “No!” to government funded embryonic stem cell research, the money has been freed up to flow properly to stem cell research that does NOT involve the destruction of human embryos and which actually produces valuable results. Had the government choked off the funding to these less abortion-friendly research efforts, progress would have been obstructed, delayed, denied, or otherwise inhibited.

I always been conservative. I have been a democrat for 32 years but Obama has caused me to see the light. His speech was full of empty words as usual. He is dangerous and his PROGRESSIVE party has taken over the democratic party and I will no longer be a part of such corruption.

As for O’Really the democrats have had all the votes they need to pass anything and still can’t get anything done because they want to change our whole way of life and I don’t want to take it any more.

In a few days I will be a republican only because they are pro-life and don’t want to control my life and believe in small government. Don’t get me wrong there are PROGRESSIVES in the Republican party too but they will be easier to get rid of in November. Please people wake up and stop drinking the Kool Aid!

Ted,
I hate to break the bad news to you but those embryos that were created were done so for the purpose of advancing pregnancies in couples that were having problems conceiving. The extra embryos were then earmarked for destruction, probably by incineration. How does using them for embryonic stem cell research violate anyone’s ethics? Your claim that other forms of stem cell research produces valuable results while embryonic work does not is nonsense. Even scientists who performed that work endorse the idea of using embryonic stems cells for comparative studies. The government inhibited work in this area and claiming that it had a positive role in other work is circular reasoning. If anything, parallel research in multiple areas of stem cell research would have further accelerated advancement in non embryonic work as well.

elder   January 28th, 2010 - 12:11 pm

Congress and the Administration are barking up the wrong tree.” If you have a flat tire on your car you don’t start overhauling the engine.” Get the people back to work.If the people are out of work long enough, which I think is the plan, everyone that loses employee sponsered health care will be clamoring for health care. It a sad day in America.

Jack Sprat   January 28th, 2010 - 12:30 pm

“I love the GOP response.”
I kind of liked Chris “Manmountain” Matthews’ response, “tonight I forgot he was a black”. What a typically democrat racist statement, apparently the rest of the time that hearing ‘bama’s name running chills up his leg, Matthews knows he’s “black”.
For most Americans now, know he’s “red” and a “divider” not a “uniter”, we knew he was not “bipartisan” from his record in the State Senate of Illinois and his 143 actually working days in the US Senate where only once did he do anything but complain and vote against any thing that had an “R” behind it, and that was with sometimes Republican Dick Lugar.

Jack Sprat   January 28th, 2010 - 12:35 pm

“stem cell research would have further accelerated advancement”
Fyi, Bush, not Clinton or Bone headed move ‘bama was the first to allow “lines” for embryonic stem cell research.
Oddly the only “success” in embryonic stem cells have been the killing of the embryo, the only successes to date have been from adult or fetal stem cells taken from placenta or “after birth” by-products.
Kill the babies, save the whales.

Ken Royall   January 28th, 2010 - 12:39 pm

Hey O’Really? The Republicans can’t block anything. Obama had the votes to do whatever he wanted. His failure to get things done were due to the unpopularity of his own policies, he can’t even get all Democrats on board. You should be thanking Republicans for not going along with his disastrous agenda.

It is so typical of the wacko Leftists here to bash anyone who disagrees with them…and use lies and made up facts to back up their attacks.

And ALL are non believers in God….That should tell us something right there..Obama is NOT a real believer either.Anyone …supports Partial Birth Abortion..and voted four times to deny medical care for babies who survived induced abortions as Obama did….can NOT be a man/woman of God. END OF STORY!

Those who are NON believers lie without guilt….ruin dissenters without guilt…kill unborn children..without guilt..teach kids G@y lifestyles without guilt…Teach kids there is no God..without Guilt..attack the Churches without guilt…bear false witness against all ….without guilt….side with terrorists …without guilt…use the Race Card …without guilt…worship Obama …without guilt….look the other way when our children are killing …aborting…raping…having babies out of wedlock…abandoning babies…killing newborns…dropping out….doing drugs…joining gangs…all because they now believe there is no God ..and therefore no one else to answer to for their sin….WITHOUT GUILT.

Wake up….This path is Wrong for America…there is NOTHING in the Constitution about Saperation of Church and State…It only says tere will be no State Church. Worshipping Obama…or one’s self is a path to distruction for all.

We voted here in Massachusetts for Scott Brown because this path is ruining us…Russia and China only have to wait….we are distroying Ameriac ourselfs…they only will have to just walk in…and if this doiesn’t change…most will welcome them.

Well, unless you’ve “sheparded cattle” you may well be “an old Horseman”, honored as that is, unfortunately what you’ve described to this cowboy whose seen the business deck of an appaloosa, is a stable horse, one that knows where the feed in the barn is and will race back at a gallop rider and all. Oh you occasionally get the bonehead that wants to buck you off to show you whose boss, but as long as you keep his head up he can’t do anything, and when you want to “give him his head he will, in the direction you want, as you say through the bridle.
This clown is not a “thoroughbred” but a mangy range pony no one bothered to work with, if he were a dog he’d barely make a mutt who is not house broken.
I wish he were the thoroughbred you described, instead I see he’s just taking the country for a ride in the wrong direction.
Great analogy AZ anyway.
