He’s right, technically — the tenets of Islam that the so called “radicals” embrace are all in the Koran (including beheading non-believers, etc.).
The moderate Muslims take those passages with a grain of salt, e.g. changing the meaning of “jihad” — violent struggle — to more of a philosophical struggle to better oneself, but those moderates are considered apostates and should also be killed according to those strict constructionists, if you will, of the text.
