George Washington warned of involvement in foreign affairs. All these years later we still haven’t learned. From the 50’s in Iran to present-day the Middle East has and will continue to kick our ass. Here’s an idea; declare Afghanistan a wildlife refuge or wetlands and prohibit people from entering or using it for anything other than growing opium. Then, if we bought all the opium at a negotiated price, refined and sold it to medical facilities around the world we’d reap a big profit, enrich the Afghani people and deny the Taliban the needed resources for it’s army. Afghanistan would become a mostly capitalist sovereign overnight. Think about it.

I’m reading all the posts today, and to be honest I am so afraid for my daughter, son-in-law, and my wonderful gifts from God, my granddaughter and grandson. My beautiful and most loving daughter married a wonderful Muslim man. I am a Christian and go to Church ever single Sunday, and I swear to God, my husband cleans the Church every Friday (unless it’s a holiday). We all celebrated Christmas here at my home. Our beautiful 3 year old grand daughter and 1 month old grandson are raised by the most loving mother and father that you’ll ever know, and I must say you would be proud if they were your children. We talk openly about their faith and the differences from mine. They love God as much as I do, and that is above all. They don’t pray to Jesus, but they believe in Jesus, but nothing is above God in their faith. I cannot tell them their religion is better than mine or mine is better than theirs. The children love God, and they have taught and are teaching their children to love all and be the best person that they can be. They are a true God loving family who would do anything for anyone, and frankly have! What I’m afraid of is some crazy person will go and harm my beautiful family because they are Muslim….I’m so very worried, I would hope that people who say, “they must go/die get them all out of here” think about all the beautiful little families out there that are not radicals, and do not agree with the crazy people doing these awful deeds. They just live their life being the best that they can….and I swear the way they live any parent Christian or not, would be so very proud of. I pray nothing happens to them during this crazy time, because I could not live with out my daughter, my grandchildren and my wonderful son-in-law.
