This is hilarious. I find myself agreeing with the CEO from the Black Chamber of Commerce. Now, without seeing his testimony, to see if he brought up race, but it appears he didn’t, what these Democrats have done is to attempt to counter the critical opinions of the Black CoC by seeking other liberal black groups that support their politics. But those groups–the NAACP as a prime example–are NOT promoters of Capitalism, Free Markets, sound economic policies, etc. They are political group mouthpieces for the Democrats. So she introduced race into the issue. The gentleman said it clearly: If you have opposing opinions, fine, but why did you go out and cherry pick BLACK opinions and from groups that are not necessarily expert in energy policy?

Courageous witness. The witness had an opinion based on expert opinion and deep analysis. He happened to be black, Boxer’s citation of the opinion of another group, the NAACP, with no qualifications on energy to counter the words of a black witness was a racist approach pure and simple. Absolutely reflects her preoccupation with identity politics. He deserves to be applauded for standing up for himself and for the facts against this attempt to assert that the opinion of a black expert can be negated by the opinion of a black non-expert purely because both are black. Bravo.

I was having a problem figuring out if he was pulling the race card to get the upper hand in the debate or if she was margainalizing his arguement based on his race. As if she was saying other black groups approve of this so yours should to. He was a little upset to get his thougths out but I agree with him. She was using his race against him by comparing his group to other black interest groups. I suppose that is the danger of a having a raced based political group. Your special interest can only take you so far in regards to influence.

Aside from that, there IS racial progress here, though thinly veiled. When racial groups, in this case blacks, refuse to march lock-step on every issue with each other and espouse their own views, individualism is promoted, not racial hegemony. We are starting to see vestiges of the needed critical mass among blacks who are not just happy to be represented as a homogenous “black community” that so many condescendingly assume exists, but individual opinions and stances that divided the race on issues, breaking the sameful and inerent racism of cohesion of ideas based only on skin tone.

This is why I am not a Dem. They are Dem-wits. I realized this when I was 15 years old growing up in the South. Boxer needs her a%$ kicked. This is how they are. They think if you are black we all should be in the ‘pig pen’ and like it because we are all supposidely in there. If you get my drift.

Stating that a group represents blacks is not racist or condescending. I don’t like Boxer, but that CEO, who is black, wouldn’t have taken his particular stance if Boxer was black (turn the tables around, walk in other people’s shoes). He could have just as easily have commended her for showing the black point of view. People, open up your eyes and minds and think for yourself. Boxer was calm and polite, the CEO was rude and confrontational. I’d rather hang out with Boxer any day.

For all their ‘progressive’ beliefs, Jews have always been condescending to blacks. I live in California and am ashamed of many of our representatives. They are arrogant and condescending without any common sense. How can the people of California keep electing these people? Look at our state government run by Democrats for numerous years and they have not only taken us down the road to ruin but will not fix the budget because they will not give up their special interests which means making cuts. I am very afraid for where we are going. Yes, it could be humorous but not if you live in this state.

What an amazing display of pure unadulterated racism. First she puts in a Pew study that shows growth in the Green sector, but not how much growth or how many jobs. Then she puts as evidence an endorsement by the NAACP, a civil rights, not scientific organization, as if the man hasn’t got the intelligence to see beyond his own race and will be awed by the blackness of the report writers. When he finally calls her condescending, and explains to her he is an American, a veteran, as well as black she makes a bizarre connection that her spouse is also a veteran and that has nothing to do with the conversation. He was trying to communicate to her that he is arguing issues not color, and that he is not only black, he is also an American with a proven dedication to his nation. He walked the walk, he did not simply marry the walker. The one thing this interchanges proves is the falsehood of the racists, because this man is so obviously intellectually superior to Boxer it hurts to watch. Imagine if he was sitting in her chair how this same scenario would have played out. How do people like her end up as ‘rulers’ while men like him become their toys?

Boxer recently chewed out a perfectly respectful white Army (Marine Corps??) general for addressing her as “Ma’m,” telling him that she had worked hard to become a senator and that that’s what she wanted to be called. In this current hearing there was no demand from Boxer to be called “Senator” – or for the African American witness to speak to her more respectfully. Why am I not surprised?

Notice how reflexively Boxer continues to speak over the objections of the C.E.O., even after he has told her that she is being insulting? It is a tactic used by all left-wing pitbulls such as Chuck Schumer, Barney Frank, and Nancy Pelosi. Just shout down your opponent! It works and is great theater! BTW, I like how she was unable to explain what the resolution was that she felt compelled to introduce into the record.

Dang..I didn’t think it was possible for anyone to make Al Franken look smart. But compared to Boxer he’s a freaking Einstein and in the cold harsh light of day Franken makes mold look intelligent.

Alas, the “race card” ploy has begun to wear thin and men and women are asking to be respected for their leadership and character. Would Senator Boxer have used that tone with someone she agreed with? Would she cite the same references in that order if this man was not black?
