THAT TSA SHOULD BE MADE TO JOIN THE US ARMY AND SEE WHAT OUR SOLDIERS HAVE TO DO, THEN MAYBE THE PANSEY WOULD REALLY KNOW WHAT A VETERAN GOES THRU TO KEEP US AMERICANS FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OR IF IT WERE ME ( A FOMER VET) WE’D HAND HIM BY THEIR NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess the TSA person doesn’t like the military.
Guess praying 5 times a day is better. Of course that means you get paid for being on your knees. We made it through the anti military during Nam. The fine men and women of the military will make it through the anti military this time also.

Maybe we should hear BOTH sides of the story before we pass judgement? I wouldn’t take the word of some “journalist” any more than the screener.

David, there have been too many stories out there about the TSA’s asinine behavior. Add this to the list.

Well on the bright side at least the Soldiers were not “Tasered” for not stripping down fast enough. Yep heads outta roll over this insult.

I don’t believe that merely firing the screeners is sufficient. There must be some law under which they can be prosecuted for this pointless harrassment of the soldiers.

If civilians continue treating GIs this way, the feds will eventually be forced to reinstate a draft.

Sue…other “stories” automatically cause you to believe this is all true without any further basis of fact than some reporter “saying” so? Lord, I hope you are never asked to sit on a jury.

Its amazing how so many people claim that they so distrust the media, but then will blindly take them at their word at face value without proof or question.

If this story is true, it’s dispicable. However, I chose to believe that most Americans (even TSA screeners) would not stoop this low and won’t believe they have unless it’s proven to me. Taking the word of some “reporter” or internet news story without further evidence is not proof.

I don’t like the implication that US soldiers have the right to set off metal detectors, but old ladies and nursing moms, or even I, don’t.
This whole TSA thing isn’t about security, and I get suspicious whenever I hear a professional news analyst sound like he thinks it is.
I went through airport security with a vial of perfume about the size of my little finger that I had forgotten about in my bag. They were going to make me throw it away, until I took the baggie I store my tea bags in, and put the perfume in that baggie. By putting the perfume vial in a baggie, it’s no longer a threat to national security? I call BS!

If Ken Shramm thinks that not giving a pass to soldiers is the biggest problem we have, he needs to check the room temperature in his head, too!

It’s not about travelers’ security, it’s about getting us used to the idea that we have no rights, and no privacy, and the government can do whatever it wants, whenever it wants, to whomever it wants. If Ken Shramm wants to fight that, them I’m all with him.

I read somewhere that a TSA screener confiscated the little tiny plastic gun that went with a GI Joe action figure a woman was bringing home for her grandchild. And the TSA confiscated a nail clipper a soldier was carrying although he was in full battle dress heading to Iraq with his his unit and had a combat knife the TSA couldn’t confiscate.

TSA screeners aren’t permitted to ‘interpret’ the rules. That would become too subjective and could cause more problems than it solves.

Instead, let’s just hand a .357 to each passenger at the door and collect them at the end of the flight. We’ll take care of our own security.

you said it IQ of room temperature, these people should have called a more knowledgeable supervisor. This is indeed an ambarressment to TSA.

I believe this damned nonsense did occur! I have seen some of these jack asses in action and do not even believe they have enough sense to be sweeping the streets. My son in law has been a pilot for close to 30 years and when he goes in to board HIS PLANE he also is made to take off his damned shoes. I have seen old ladies loose precious keepsakes out of their luggage and toilet kits. Pitiful- but the whole damned country is going backwards anymore!

Well, at least our ports and borders are secure…

I think that the TSA Head of Department should be given a wake-up call. Their policies are not refined. He / She be removed from office for allowing such an incident to happen. If you want to search a person (based on situation) please bring them to an enclosed room to do it, but unless he /she is a terrorist… I will strip them anywhere. Your TSA staff are so dumb for making such a move. Use some of that grey matter that you have up in your head, it your own countrymen for goodness sake. Stupid people.
