Speaking as your “typical white person” (I’m no Obama fan) from Canada, the African-American church goers seemed intelligent and the last woman in particular made a brilliant, constitutional, and fair point…

… and that pastor is a moron.

“I don’t think you’re getting my point.” What a dunce. Seriously, this doesn’t say much for his church membership either that they voted unanimously to support this jackass.

Were I a citizen of this community, I’d ask the African-American community if I could attend church services with them.

Why? Well, my name’s Christoph, and I wouldn’t want the other congregation to get confused and think I was Christ returned from the dead.

Truly insane. I’d be willing to bet that the rate of mental retardation in Union County is quite a bit higher than the national average.

the truth hurts i know ! but it is what it is.. obama as most of you will find out in time, as all things come to light in time. you will find out that he does not believe in christ.. accept it and move on.

Why were the blacks accusing the pastor of being a racist? There is nothing racist in the sign.

Why did the anchor accuse him of being a racist when she asked him how many blacks attended his church? Did she ask how many whites attended the “black” church?

Was Obama a Muslim? Is he now? All valid questions that have been discussed in the NY Times and other places.

The name Barack means highly favored of God,I heard .
I don’t see why everybody is worried about one man because of his name .I don’t believe its the name it’s the 1/2 of who this mans race is.
Bill Clinton and Hillary along with the rest of the closet bigots be they white or black (yes we do have black bigots ) of this nation who are speaking without being informed,But I think their problem is that this 1/2 black man 1/2 white man is not your average man he is intelligent and well spoken, and the blacks that are speaking bad about him have the mentality of 150 years ago when they used to sell there brothers down the river to get points with massa

[...] Check it out, the stupidest video ever? Or just the stupidest pastor? You decide [...]

dutch,
do you actually know this to be true? Do you know Obama? Have you ever met him? Have you broke bread and discussed his religion? Wow. That is why this country is so messed up is because people like you form these ridiculous notions in your small minds. Barack is very much a believer in Christ. How a name somehow makes you someone you are not I will never know. He has his father’s name. I don’t know about you, but I didn’t have a say in the name my parent’s gave me. How stupid are you???

While I do not think the pastor was making a racist remark with his sign (I’ll give him the unfortunate benefit of the doubt here), he is making a false one by claiming someone’s name dictates a person’s faith.

If someone were named Darwin, or Mohammed, or Ali, or even Buddah, and decided to switch towards Christianity, New Age, Intelligent Design or whatever, there name would in no way dictate their faith.

This Pastor is nothing more than the full expression of what ignorance is all about, and thankfully the world is not thickly populated by individuals like himself.

I have had the unfortunate experience of trying to to business with SC… Intellectualism is NOT a strong point in that state!

obviously the name callers aren’t very intelligent here either…I don’t care what Obamas faith is, the real question should be…will he make a good president…sure he will be, if you want to live in fear of our country being destroyed…sorry but I questioned the name thing a long time ago, and it is scary to think, but for you name callers, why don’t you go spend a year in Iraq, and providing you make it back alive, you might just take the time to think about that question too….

I would like to ask the question “why is it racist to compare a man of color to another man of color. I am BLACK. I do not think that this is racist, ignorant yes but not racist. is Obama Christian or Muslim, NO ONE KNOWS BUT GOD. If he is elected, i hope that he is a good president.
