As I was listening to Harry Ried’s speech, it occurred to me that he might have realized how much he screwed up, and was begging Democrat supporters (perhaps some in China?) to join in on the bidding so the document could be procured and promptly shredded. Letter? What letter?

In the end, you need a constitutional scorecard to keep track of this. 41 U S Senators exercise their First Amendment rights (and not a little valuable official legislative time) to criticize a media figure and private person who was exercising his First Amendment rights to criticize the more than one phoney soldier out there who are exercising their First Amendment rights. The phoney soldiers get the support of the phoney politicians who don’t really support (as in hoping they succeed) the non-phoney troops that the media figure supports. BAGHDAD (Reuters) – U.S. forces in Iraq discovered nearly 19 tons of explosives in a weapons cache north of Baghdad this week, one of the biggest finds of its kind, the U.S. military said on Saturday.

The cache was discovered west of Tarmiya, some 30 km (19 miles) northwest of the capital Baghdad, in Salahuddin province where Sunni Arab militants have a strong presence.

The find was made up of 41,000 lbs of ammonium nitrate and 35 mortar bombs. U.S. forces destroyed the cache.

“It’s a crippling blow against the enemy, it’s really huge,” said Peggy Kageleiry, a spokeswoman for U.S. forces in northern Iraq.

Car and truck bombs are used on almost a daily basis by militants in Iraqis targeting U.S. and Iraqi security forces and civilians.

In the deadliest attack this year, 520 people were killed in August when two suicide bombers drove two garbage trucks packed with explosives into two villages in northwestern Iraq.
