Visiting Japan, I lost 14 pounds in about one month.

The reason was that I walked 8 or 9 miles a day versues driving my car everywhere and it was hot. Also, I had no pop or junk food.

You have to watch yourself overseas because changes in food, temperatire and excerise effects you body. This boy lost a lot of weight, but it may not all be related to being staved.
Its hard to say.

The newspapers get it wrong some of the times.

Didn’t notice lossing 55 pounds???

I lose 10 and I notice right away. The first sign is usually my pant waists not fitting like they should.

This is one dumb kid who lacks a tremendous amount of self awareness.

Yeah right !!! You lose 1/3 of your body weight and you don’t notice? How about this kid’s moron dad? Coptics and Egyptians are good people says he, but AFS sucks. Sure they suck, and he’ll suck them dry when he hires the law firm of Dickem, Stickem, And How. So folks, why would any person with 1/2 a freakin brain wanna do a year in Egypt, anyway? Maybe that diet of pure camel dung did him in, afterall.

Of course this is the fault of the AFS, as the father said. And of course, the proper solution will be to sue the AFS. Why? Because that is where the money is.

AFS isn’t to blame.

The family was taking the money provided for him and pocketing it. They didn’t want to spend it on HIM.

Teachers noticed and tried to get him to a new home but the kid wanted to stay. Looks like they will get a million per pound. It is a shame, they should not receive 1 cent. The kid could have asked for help from any number of people but choose to stay. His choice, he must live with that.

We aren’t talking about a 10 year old here. Was he locked in a closet and could not get any other source of food? If he felt he was not getting enough food, could he not have discussed the matter with AFS or asked for another home placement? Something is wrong with his story.

If AFS is to be blamed, then perhaps they should have done a better job screening students who they place abroad.
