McCain is an angry confused old man who is more a friend to liberals than to conservatives. He has no real identity. He is a prosaic man driven more by the winds and waves of the sea than the principles he professes to adhere to, but so easily abandons out of fear.

I never understood people who go through life more concerened with what everyone thinks of them, and subverting thier own principles to be liked. They might have good intentions or desires, but they never can muster the courage to stand on thier own for what they really believe.

Of course, McCain is a very liberal republican. Everyone knows that. A “RINO”. That is why he is the republican front runner. He pays lip service to the conservatives but he is just telling them anything they want to hear.
McCain will have to deal with his dual personality. Say he is a conservative to sound like a republican should. But then he has to be very liberal to have any chance of getting elected. Of course, the conservatives know how liberal McCain is. Just look to Ann Coulter or Rush Limbaugh and their bazaar support of Clinton rather than McCain.
But McCain might have to come clean and just dump the conservative rant all together. The conservatives will do him no favors and he does not need them. His best chance is to go after the main stream of America which is very liberal now. McCain will also have to come to terms with his Iraq rhetoric which is really hurting him.
Another factor that is showing here is his age. He will be 72 buy election time. Time will tell if he can overcome the ravages of old age and be viable to a country that likes younger leaders. He can’t afford many mental confusion episodes on stage. It would only take one bad one like forgetting his name or party to destroy his chances. His opponent Obama has none of these problems. The Democrats might just be able to sit back and let McCain run out of gas.

Barack Hussein Obama will not wear the American flag on his lapel nor will he put his hand over his heart during the National Anthem. Soldiers fought and died for this country, which Barack Hussein Obama does not appreciate. His constituency, unfortunately, is made up of “skulls full of mush” and/or people who despise this country. This is my first trip to the Drudge report, and I can see that I didn’t miss much. Seeing the word liberal thrown around in these comments is somewhat amusing. Liberals haven’t been running the show for the past 12 of 13 yrs..It’s been all republican all the way. Our President never saw a spending bill he didn’t like until the very slim Dem majority came on board last year. Since some of you folks like to throw the word liberal around so much, here is some homework..Neo-Liberal economic policies..Want to know what is wrong with our economy? This is a very good place to start. Our economy is a national security issue, not worrying about Obama’s lips being blue, or McCain pretending to be a conservative or blaming undocumented workers who have for years been exploited by big business. Have deep tax cuts helped the mainstream americans posting in this room? Has it provided you with the opportunity to job hop to a better one with similar wages and benefits? Have those outsourced manufacturing jobs that at one time created the greatest expansion of the middle class, been replaced with jobs similar wages, benefits, etc..? Somehow I don’t think that middle aged man who lost his good job and now works for Home Depot is going to agree with you when he gets the next tuition bill for his son or daughter who is trying to get through college. A recession is when your neighbor loses his job, a depression is when you lose yours.

McInsane is suffering from dementia and so is the GOP for propping him up as their nominees. Democrats in a landslide in November followed by a financial collapse by February.

The definition of a hero to me is in all of the graves of the men and women left behind. It is to those that have truly sacrificed with arms and legs blown off saving someone else. It certainly is not to someone who by fate, was a prisoner of war. I admire the fact that Juan McCain was able to sit it out through the horrendous torture, but he joined with John Kerry, Mr Swift Boat, in turning his back on those ALIVE and LEFT BEHIND. This is not a hero to me.

He is certainly not a coward as those, Mr Swift Boat himself, who shot themselves to get out of battle. He was as courageous as all of my uncles that spent their days in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and now Iran. God Bless those willing to fight for us and that is exactly where Juan McCain should be, in the military, NOT as the President. Being a POW does not qualify someone as President! He is not Presidential material.

All you Republicans/Conservatives, please stop the whinning about not voting. Remember there are other elective offices that need to be filled. Go to the candidate’s web site, read their position papers, listen to them. Then “Vote” for the one that closely has your ideas and vision for the Country (and your kids future). We have to deny the democrats a fillibuster proof majority in the House and Senate.

McCain’s “slip” was a de facto realignment with his concept of the straight-talking express.

He’s liberal enough for me but for one point, he supported the war from the outset. His lack of wisdom on one of the most important foreign policy decisions of the last 50 years demonstrates, to me, that he doesn’t deserve the presidency. An ounce of experience is not worth more than a pound of wisdom.

All of the foolish diatribes the right is levying against the left is falling on national deaf ears because our country’s good standing in the world has been dragged through the proverbial mud, we are trillions in the red, civil liberties trounced upon, habeas corpus revoked, environmentalism has been all but abandoned, domestic issues have been ignored, and there is no one to blame but the right, for they have had both houses and the presidency for most of the 8 years of the Bush administration.

Repubs can whine all they want, but the dems are going to cream them in November. Polls do not reflect actual voter turn out, and dems are turning out, by a factor of 2 to 1 and better, over republicans, so far, in the primaries.

I wonder if this is what Babel was like: a tumult of voices with very little common understanding. Even we conservatives have been hung out to dry by the party that once claimed to share our vision. I guess they didn’t quite get the message. So now we have three liberals running for President of the United States, and it’s anyone’s guess which is the worst of them. One thing’s for sure: the majority of American’s are not pro-big-government, state-dependent, global-warming-panicked liberals; such as that are anathema to our heritage and our blood. So what gives here? It’s obvious that you’ve been feeding for too long off the pablum and poison that is Democrat and Mainstream Media “news and information.” It’s time you learned to check facts on your own and find out what is really going on in this country: the Liberal Dems don’t care about me, but they don’t care about you, either. The “main stream” of this country are NOT liberal, we’re conservative baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, and Chevrolet citizens. We wave Old Glory with pride, we know our history (something you might investigate, btw), we love our country, and we don’t want any socialists or communists coming in and turning us into all the other nations whose governments don’t work! The rest of you squeak louder, and so you have gotten all the grease in recent years. Well, we normal, factually informed people are sick of it. I don’t know what will happen the rest of this year, but someday we’ll have to take this country back from the freaks and wierdos or it will become another footnote of history.

It’s funny to see people argue on here about who is the better candidate, the Rep. or the Dem. A lot of people still don’t seem to understand that a political process where you are forced to vote for the “lesser” of two evils is broken. Republican or Democrat doesn’t matter, they are two sides to the same coin. Neither is really all that different. Of course they run under different platforms when campaigning so that they can get their party’s nomination, but as soon as they get in the white house, they take their marching orders from the same people. For what it’s worth as much as I don’t like Obama, I think it would be interesting to see if he actually gets our troops out of Iraq, or whether all the “change” he talks about is just a campaign slogan to trick the gullible youth that know more about sports and pop culture than politics. McCain on the other hand,is a complete phony and has been for years, there is nothing new here. He is in the pocket of every lobbyist in Washington and he is a traitor to his country, eventhough his “vietnam record” which has been disputed from day one says he is a war hero. I think it is great that he went to Vietnam and I can respect that, but a lot of other men who did a lot more than just wreck planes haven’t gotten half the praise as this guy. I’m sure I’ll get lots of replies about how he was tortured and how he is a hero. I recommend that those people go read up on John McCain. There is ample evidence out there that shows how he led the cause in abandoning the effort to rescue our Vietnam POWs, so go read up before accepting the fairytale facade that he has fashioned for himself…

Every candidate currently in the race accepts what they claim is the inevitability of an open border due to uncontrollable circumstances. Nonsense ! A serious program of heavy fines to employers of illegals, no driver’s licenses, confiscation of any vehicle driven by an illegal, and treatment of illegals at emergency rooms followed by a quick trip to the border is all it would take to straighten out this mess our elected officials have caused.

McCain makes three mistakes here not just one. First he says it will be a “dispirited” debate, then corrects. Then the one featured which is a true slip because he knows in his heart he is a liberal and the conservative mask cannot be worn rightly for long. Then he goofs up the word promise. If this had been Bush, Dole, or anyone else this would all be covered and be covered by all of the media. But since Jonny boy is firmly in the love camp of the media they will not give this much play if any at all.

What different does it make. The democratic delegate is going to win this upcoming election by the biggest landslide in US History. George Bush has seen to that. Mc Cain should have kept his money and stayed home. Plus he’s out of touch with all of the issues facing us. he’s a war hero, true.
