There is justice, restorative justice. The problem is that the victim(s) can’t forgive. They are the ones causing the problems in our legal system.

This is complicated and therefore must be administered by Democratic party leadership. This is another reason we need a strong central authority lead by Democrats.

I could almost believe that Al Gore wrote those posts (Gore08). I had to read them twice trying to figure out if this was a joke or a person being serious. I have to assume that it was a joke because no one can be THAT stupid. And Gore08, if you really are being serious, then I thank God that you are in Vermont and no where close to my side of the country. And, if you are serious, then I can honestly say you are a pathetic excuse for an American. Even the Democrats would probably disown you.

To a small point I can see where a NONVIOLENT offense can have over reaching effects on a person long after the debt to society has been paid but once that line has been crossed where a victim was created there should be no leniency. Although, that said, I would support any kind of mandatory program where an ex-con is paired up with a do gooder liberal college professor or politician for a number of years to see what rehabilitative powers they can bring directly to the very people they so espouse to want to help.

Great tongue and there gore 08,as no body could actually be that brain dead.

It is obvious that most of the posts here are from Republicans that believe in jails…… soooooo old fashion.

Do your homework regarding the new and progressive restorative justice system. Elect democrats and we will have our wish!

It is too bad that all of this is not happening in the great state of Vermont. Here we have a restorative justice system. Just forgive and forget. It is that easy. No expenses for jails. Very little legal expenses. The victims just need to get onboard and forgive.

It is great!

The Democratic party has really helped Vermont move one step closer to utopian peace and love.

Now, we need Al Gore to save the world!

People like Gore08 would prefer a society where people only got a slap on the wrist. Their feeble minds can’t comprehend that there are people in this world that have no compassion. That show no remorse. They try and humanize people that have lost most ‘human’ traits. They find it hard to comprehend how violent society really is. In the real world forgive and forget does not work. Just ask all of those families that have lost loved ones due to a failure in the system that gives murderers, drunk drivers, and others, the chance to go to jail, only to return to the streets and continue their crimes against society. Only to have more families lose more loved ones. You can forgive all you want, but I guarantee those families will never forget.

Society would be in a state of anarchy if people like Gore08 had their way.
