"The attempt was to make them so distressed and to cause them so much suffering that these animals would get up and walk into the slaughterhouse."

I assure I love my hamburgers, but treating animals like this is torture. Plain and Simple.

I agree, that’s just wrong on many levels. Thank God, that, in America, they will be punished…

Now I’m hungry…

This is such a BS video and report . . . it’s obvious that no one related to this incident has ever WORKED at an operation like this. How do you think the millions of farmers and meat processors get their livestock to market? Do we now say, “Please Mr. Cow get into the livestock trailer?. No. Well how about pretty please then, Mr. Cow.” (hence the cattle prod)or “Mr. Chicken will you please remove you head, guts and feathers so I can fry you in a pan?”. People like these sooper-secret-undercover types should get a real job. How about working in a meat-packing plant for 6 months? I’ve lived and worked on farms and it’s hard to reason with an animal that has a brain the size of a walnut. I could mean the cow or it could be the humane society officials. Take your pick.

The thing to be worried about is why sick animals are being slaughtered for food in the first place. They should be fined for that alone notwithstanding any alleged cruelty.

Kosher slaughter houses are worse yet. They cut the animals throat and let it flop around on the floor until it dies. They should be outlawed and uniform standards applied to ALL livestock slaughter operations for the consumers protection.

I agree, the putting of downed animals into teh food chain is the worst thing but that doesn’t excuse cruelty either.

In America we have freedom of religion, even if you don’t agree with their practices. I say their freedom of religion trumps you sensibilities.
