Didn’t this jack knob play a major role in the mess we are in now? Hearing the host say, “Fine, goodbye sir.” made my day.

Mel Shapiro   June 11th, 2009 - 11:51 am

Why does Mr. Frank always sound like he is talking with something in his mouth?

diane   June 11th, 2009 - 11:52 am

Perfect example of an arrogant, public self-servant. He needed to go a long time ago. . . maybe now’s the time?

Burt   June 11th, 2009 - 11:53 am

“You sure gotta pretty mouth…”

U NO HOO   June 11th, 2009 - 11:54 am

Replace CEO, Board of Directors and Shareholders with, respectively, President, Congress, and Voters, and ask for Barnyard’s comments.

Kevin   June 11th, 2009 - 11:54 am

Massachusetts must be so proud. That state should be banished from the U.S. and given to Canada. Oklahoma City Red Sox. sounds pretty good.

Common_Sense2   June 11th, 2009 - 11:56 am

Classic case of don’t confuse me with the facts. The final words of the interview were the best words spoken.

George Scott   June 11th, 2009 - 11:56 am

Perfect. Barney Frank can’t even remain civil in a polite give and take discussion. He is the most arrogant, ignorant man in Congress. We are so lucky.

U NO HOO   June 11th, 2009 - 11:57 am

“Why does Mr. Frank always sound like he is talking with something in his mouth?”

Phantom Sensation is what I believe they call it, as when an amputee still feels the missing limb.

Got it?

How in the name of God did Congresswoman Barney Fag get control over America???

Enough is enough…Guess that poor guy on CNBC will be fired for upsetting a darling of NBC and GE

U NO HOO   June 11th, 2009 - 11:58 am

Bill O’Reilly, please call your office.

Ben   June 11th, 2009 - 11:59 am

What a jerk… Barney Frank is an idiot with a platinium card backing his butt… Hopefully his constituents will fire his butt and put someone with more intelligence in office.

He obviously can’t take scrutiny nor criticism over his poor handling of the last couple of years

Ron   June 11th, 2009 - 11:59 am

Maybe if Barney would finish swallowing the load in his mouth, someone could understand what he’s saying.

He always has a mouthful. It’s disgusting.

Steve   June 11th, 2009 - 12:00 pm

What an unctuous and putrid character Barney Frank is. Never more on display than in this interview…

Shamballa   June 11th, 2009 - 12:01 pm

This blowhard makes no sense at all and when he says (spews), “May I respond?” I have to laugh. The whole interview was him responding with typical Washington double-speak. Wise up and vote this cancerous tumor out of office.

steven M   June 11th, 2009 - 12:01 pm

Why do the commercials play perfectly and instantly but the videos take forever/or never to load. What’s up with that?

rider237   June 11th, 2009 - 12:01 pm

jdizz, you are missing the points.

1st, the government shouldn’t be involved in this. does not matter which party it is. this started under bush and i was just as much against TARP under him.

2nd, this clip is about the arrogance of BF and co. they are making decisions that impact private businesses and private investment. we deserve the answers to our questions. WE are the boss, not congress. they work for us and at our pleasure.

i hope people remember that at the ballot box next time.

rightside   June 11th, 2009 - 12:01 pm

Comes soon the revolution. Let’s pray it is peaceful and at the ballot box but it is coming. People have had it with these political hacks that can not argue a case but have to resort to terminating interviews, hiding outside the limelite or stonewalling. And that is before they begin the name calling.

Rob   June 11th, 2009 - 12:02 pm

Will the pay of elected officials be tied to how well they are doing running the country? How about the risks they are taking? Where’s the accountability there? Maybe we as voters should have more protection from the decisions our elected officials are making than just a vote, just as the Congressman wants more protection for shareholders than buying or selling a stock. Most of those serving in public office no longer approach the office as a civic duty, but as a way to get themselves ahead (way ahead) at the expense of others.

Kman   June 11th, 2009 - 12:02 pm

Why oh why oh why does Mass. keep reelecting idiots like Frank. COME ON PEOPLE … HE IS AN I-D-I-O-T THROUGH AND THROUGH !!!!!!

PLEASE, Mass. the rest of the country is begging you, please get rid of Frank !!!!! He is a big part of the problem in this country !!!!

TAS   June 11th, 2009 - 12:03 pm

Does anyone see the irony here?! We have a gov’t run amuck…made up of self-serving political hacks like Barney Frank who know nothing about business…and these are the jokers telling business people how to run their industry?

Ken   June 11th, 2009 - 12:03 pm

Once again the congress is non-compliant with its’ responsibilities. Who is he actually representing? Instead of re-writing the rules of business that have worked so well since our founding, enforce the laws and prosecute executives that break the laws. How ’bout equal justice for all. Do you know why he has to re-invent, because he would fall under the parameters of equal justice and share some of the blame. All cowards.

Marshall   June 11th, 2009 - 12:03 pm

If we restrict executive compensation then how will the plan to “only tax the rich” ever work? Hmmm…. Sounds like we’ll ALL pay the tax.

Barry and friends don’t have time to argue over the issues- we must agree and submit.

liz   June 11th, 2009 - 12:04 pm

Barney Frank is arrogant and not very intelligent. He needs to resign along with Pelosi. They are totally out of touch with reality. We need to quit the bailouts…stress buy American in cars and goods and throw all these posers out of office.

Jennny   June 11th, 2009 - 12:04 pm

Bawney not-so-Fwank.

Jan   June 11th, 2009 - 12:05 pm

The interviewers were gracious and let Mr. Frank talk on ond on and were never “misrepresenting”. They messed up however, because they did not get the memo that statists do not have to answer questions they do not want to answer. In fact, unlike the rest of the current media don’t they know that they are not even suppose to ASK the probing, get to the truth type questions.

Frank is a loser!   June 11th, 2009 - 12:05 pm

Seiko Ananta

“Barney Frank is a typical democrat, a lying coward. Lie, distort, and then cry and whine and run away like a 3-year old girl when faced with tough questions.”

What has changed with this guy? Nothing. He’s always been a liar.

Paul   June 11th, 2009 - 12:07 pm

Classic Frank, Spin or misrepresent a question, take umbrage for being called to task on it, start a hissy fit and walk off in anger.

jrscott   June 11th, 2009 - 12:07 pm

Far be it from anyone to say I have EVER supported Barney Frank on anything, BUT, he wins on this interview. The media constantly interrupts when they cannot get the answers they want to hear, or when a politician that thinks differently than they do is making sense. For the first time ever, Barney Frank was making sense.

There is nothing wrong with figuring out a way to prevent CEOs from taking 100s of millions with them after destroying once profitable companies that are going to be shut down. The whole free enterprise system is broken, and (I hate saying this as a conservative leaning libertarian) some regulation is needed to prevent the milking of this nation’s institutions by reprehensible corporate pirates. It can be done without creating a new bureaucracy though, and Obama and Friends unfortunately will find a way to create one.

Ace   June 11th, 2009 - 12:07 pm

He might even have a good idea once in a while, but who can stand listening to him.

He should steal some tarp funds and take speech therapy.

ricardo maxwell   June 11th, 2009 - 12:08 pm

The more people see of this vile disgusting piece of human debris, the wider their eyes will open.

SJM   June 11th, 2009 - 12:08 pm

Mr Frank,
as we the taxpayers are essentially the stockholders in the American government, how do you stand on taxpayer approval of Congressional pay and benefits? If we determine that you have screwed up, can we cut your pay and benefits?

Jac   June 11th, 2009 - 12:08 pm

One only has to go search Cspan’s archives for “GSE” to see Barney “bologna smuggler” Frank’s hand in this financial mess. Watch as he argues against regulation of Fanny/Freddie, claims “There is no threat to the treasury.”

If this guy died in a car fire, I would go to the funeral to spit on his coffin.

Oprahs Maid   June 11th, 2009 - 12:10 pm

Barney is such a DIVA!

57States   June 11th, 2009 - 12:10 pm

There should not have been any bailout funds. Just like government should keep it’s hands out of executive pay. We need to compete on a world level and that means making companies and people feel like they get more of a reward for being successful here rather than someplace else. We don’t live in a bubble and our political class can’t simply tax the hell out of us without a cost that they can’t seem to grasp. I’ll even say something our dumbass politicians will like. They should be paid more as well. If they had higher salaries then it would encourage better and smarter people to pursue those jobs. Then the Barney Franks, Pelosis, and Reids would not make the cut and we would not be subjected to their incompetent drivel and scams.

There will NEVER be “change” in our government as long as corrupt, incompetent, perverts are in positions of power (Barney is all three). Think about who’s running this country right now; Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, John Conyers, Maxine Waters, Sheila Jackson-Leigh, Gregory Meeks, Alcee Hastings. et al. Just thinking about them makes me want to shower.

I’m waiting for the day when an interviewer say’s to Barney. “Before we get started Mr. Frank, why is it that you have no teeth?”

jdizz   June 11th, 2009 - 12:10 pm

Barney Franks actually makes a lot of sense here.

Funny how conservative will bark at the notion of “controlling executive pay” but when the details emerge, they are cowards. No one can argue that if companies receive bailout funds, there should be oversight into the structure of executive pay. The current system overly rewards risk taking, no matter the outcome – and at the expense of tax payers and shareholders.

That is fact.

Lou   June 11th, 2009 - 12:12 pm

Barney Fag is Barney Fag. He knows not what he does. Please stop blaming him, Pelosi, and the President for their total stupidity. Folks, we must blame the voters who keep this human waste in office. God help and God Bless America. One more thing, Obama where is your birth certificate?

Capn Jack   June 11th, 2009 - 12:12 pm

Why is it Barney Fwank is always having a hissy-fit when he is called out on his less than average intelligence and common sense? If the news guy had been there i think Fwank would have actually hit him with his pocketbook.

Jeff L   June 11th, 2009 - 12:13 pm

Let’s see, Barney Frank, Barack Obama and so many others want to regulate and control executive compensation when companies are not doing well. It also seems likewise since our elected officials cannot balance the budget and spend more and more money that we do not have they should be required to get pay cuts every year until they can balance the budget. We should be able to control the pay of all in government who are wasting our money. That would only be fair.

Thom York   June 11th, 2009 - 12:13 pm

CEO Salaries? What about professional athlete, actor/actress, rock star salaries?

How many people do entertainers employ? A dozen? 50? 100?

How many people’s mortgages are they responsible for?

And the top five paid CEOs in 2006 (according to the AFL-CIO list) are…

Lee R. Raymond ($8.2m) – Exxon/Mobil – 83,700 employees
Henry A. McKinnell ($6.5m) – Pfizer – 106,000 employees
Edward E. Whitacre Jr. ($5.5m) – AT&T – 189,950 employees
William W. McGuire ($5.1m) – United Health – 55,000 employees
Robert L. Nardelli ($4.6m) – Home Depot – 289,800 employees

At $30 million dollars total salaries for the five top paid CEOs in 2006 that’s still less then that of Number 35 on the celebrity list, the retired Michael Jordan!

According to Barney Franks shareholders should set CEO compensation. (With the given eventuality that if the socialists in Washington don’t like the numbers they’ll fix’em.) Does he also champion letting fans set Kobe’s salary? Or movie goers determining Tom Cruise’s pay scale?

Refreshing to see CNBC doing their jobs for once, in asking the tougher questions that the politician may not want to answer. But does anyone else notice the trend that is developing here among Democrat leaders (Frank and Pelosi to name 2) who when called to task become angry, combative, then simply walk away or refuse to communicate further on the important issue? Repbus will sweep Congress in 2010 but I am worried more each day that by then, it may be too late.

Miss Ogyny   June 11th, 2009 - 12:14 pm

Is Frank still running the Gay escort service out of the basement of his D.C. townhouse? No…wait…that was his ex-boyfriend from the Federal Reserve! Hey, there’s a connection here somewhere, but I just can’t put my finger on it…Hee, hee!

“But does anyone else notice the trend that is developing here among Democrat leaders (Frank and Pelosi to name 2) who when called to task become angry, combative, then simply walk away or refuse to communicate further on the important issue?”

This is spot on! Perfect example of them refusing to answer the tough questions because they know that the tough questions mean people want to hold them accountable. They refuse to be held accountable by nature. Great point!

dennisl59   June 11th, 2009 - 12:17 pm

Rep B.Frank(D-MA) is a despicable ‘human’ being. I hope the voters in his District are very very proud of the way he conducts himself in public. Could you imagine living in his District? After all he is a direct reflection of the people. Just like Rep.N.Pelosi(D-CA) and all the rest of the criminals, frauds, and liars in Congress.

PoodleSkirt   June 11th, 2009 - 12:18 pm

I agree with SJM, except that it has already been determined that Frank has made a career of screwing up.

Barney Frank has made more deleterious decisions than all of Wall Street put together. Where’s his pay cut?

When is this POS going to be indicted? People of Mass. you have a duty to the rest of America to vote Barney out of office!

jrscott   June 11th, 2009 - 12:21 pm

Ben, nobody is talking about capping pay of executives. They are talking mostly about not allowing executives to rob their companies blind while leading them into the abyss. If a company is getting TARP funds, they are a failure. Until the CEO pulls that company out of the red, the CEO should not be rewarded lavishly, especially with taxpayer dollars.

In the case of everyday corps not receiving handouts from the government, something still needs to be done about unqualified CEOs appointed by their cronies on the board, getting paid 100s of millions and leading the companies into the toilet. It happens far too frequently. Why should shareholders lose everything while Caligula buys a new super-yacht filled with callgirls on the company dime and sends the rest of his bonus offshore to not get taxed?

It’s not just the shareholders that get hurt. Retirement Plans, customers, and the US Economy are hurt by this behavior. YOU are hurt by the behavior.

Should there be “caps” on executive pay for successful companies? No. But even then, the shareholders still need to get a return on their investment, which will not happen if the CEO and upper management are payed every dime of the profit. All I heard Barney talk about here was giving the Shareholders legal clout to make sure they are not getting fleeced by the insiders at the executive and board level.

iworkinfinancialservices   June 11th, 2009 - 12:22 pm

I think it’s interesting that the minute a question was asked that didn’t conform to Mr. Franks reality, Mr. Frank got very aggressive. This is another great example of a law written by someone who has no idea how the financial industry works (or lack there of), and will sound great to the wider population but has ZERO chance of accomplishing its goal.

At the firm I work for less than one percent have individual stock positions. The rest have there money in actively managed investment vehicles (Mutual Funds, Variable Annuities…ect.) In those investment vehicles you are not able to exercise your shareholder rights, the MF or VA does that for you. For anybody out there saying that’s not fair please realize that these vehicles have hundreds of different company shares trying to do the best job for you. And waiting for all of those people who are invested in the fund to weigh in on a decision would be impossible.

And that’s “hard on”, Mr. Frank, not “hard-on”

Randy   June 11th, 2009 - 12:24 pm

Jdizz
You miss the point. Had these companies not gotten any governement assistance we wouldn’t even be having these conversations. They should have let them become insolvent, put in bankrupsy court, broken up in to several smaller companies, never to be heard from again. Smaller companies pay there executives less because there isn’t this feeling you have to have high paid “super” CEO’s run them. I agree the free market economy contributes to these high salary, but I also agree the free market will correct them better than the government can.

joseph southward   June 11th, 2009 - 12:24 pm

What an arrogant, disgusting, slobbering freak. Or, put another way, the perfect representative of the Left.

TheGovernmentCaveMan   June 11th, 2009 - 12:28 pm

I watched the clip several times. At first, I thought the interviewer was being rude to Congressman BF, especially when the interview appears to be held in a Congressional hallway, perhaps between hearings. But upon further review, most of the comments to the clip are dead-on. This is about accountability. BF is flippant, and he reflects a microcosm of the on-going flippancy of the governing class. The American public got tired of being told “trust me” under Bush, and now we have the arrogancy of power by the Democrats. Except that the changes being forced down everyone’s throats now are done with impunity: they demean our questions by waterboarding us with their power and arrogance–refusing to entertain a peep to the contrary: BF waiving off MSNBC; Pelosi refusing to take inquiries about her views on the “lying CIA”; the President waiving off questions by the German Media because they touch on issues that take him off “message.”

mauren   June 11th, 2009 - 12:29 pm

Barney Frank is the posterchild for the arrogance and ignorance that is in our Congress today. His thin skinned and bellicose attitude toward the commentator is typical when Barney has no answer to legitimate questions. He needs to be fired.

Thomas neville   June 11th, 2009 - 12:29 pm

Barney is defensive because he’s part of the problem. It’s hard to understand his comments though, guess he’s done too much tea bagging.

Lars   June 11th, 2009 - 12:37 pm

This should be no surprise to anyone. There is not ONE democrat who will stand up to these sort of questions. If everyone does not agree with them, then they just fold up their tent and run away. This is their prime tactic when dealing with hardball questions.

Action Jackson   June 11th, 2009 - 12:37 pm

Pompous Sodomite.
Barney’s Frank should be arrested along with Chris Dodd and others responsible for this mess we’re in.
See what else we think here: RightWingStuff.com

joe from chi   June 11th, 2009 - 12:38 pm

How many seconds did Frank wait to tattle on CNBC to the CEO of GE (parent of NBC/CNBC)??

konginosh   June 11th, 2009 - 12:38 pm

typical B. Frank. Eveyone piss on MA for having stuck us with this criminal.

Frank is largely to blame for the mess we are in along with Chris Dodd.

Cindy   June 11th, 2009 - 12:39 pm

Frank should be thrown out of office immediately. He’s done nothing to help this country and was and still is a large contributor to the mess we are in today. Pathetic!

betheweb   June 11th, 2009 - 12:39 pm

I can’t say that Barney Frank (D,MA) is the vilest, most corrupt and disgusting Congressman in America’s long history because there are, sadly, other worthy contenders. I will say Barney Frank is a shoo-in for the top 10 finalists.

Exlib   June 11th, 2009 - 12:39 pm

What does this say about the people of Mass.that keep electing this gentleman, Mr. Frank. He is a liar and a theif, as noted above, but he keeps getting elected. As the saying goes…who’s he bl****g for this job…Kennedy?

Big Jim   June 11th, 2009 - 12:39 pm

This administration is so screwed up that even Barny Frank can’t put up with the heat of a simple question and one (for them) from a favorable network. Time for Change is right, their change is not in America’s favor.

CSinMiami   June 11th, 2009 - 12:40 pm

When are the people of Massachussetts going to wake up and stop re-electing this arrogant imbecile??

I can’t help visualizing Sylvester the Cat everytime he opens his mouth! How can you take someone like him seriously?

Maybe this is the year Boston will have had enough embarassment.

ClassicLiberal   June 11th, 2009 - 12:40 pm

Frank is a Fascist old woman. Good god people, we need to take our country back!

TrappedinMass   June 11th, 2009 - 12:41 pm

He’ll win re-election. His district is gerrymandered to included nothing but burnt out ex-mill cities, moonbat havens, and just enough Republican conclaves to keep them out of office. The whole state works that way. Mass. and N. Korea – the joys of one party govt.

Ruser   June 11th, 2009 - 12:41 pm

Barney Frank Destroyer of Economies.

Adam Smith   June 11th, 2009 - 12:41 pm

This country is being led by the most disgusting, corrupt, grotesque, criminal freak show in American history.

Think about the wackos, kooks, criminals, killers and klansmen now running this country: Barney Frank, Charles Rangel, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, John Conyers, Robert Byrd, Ted Kennedy, Henry Waxman, Chris Dodd, Kent Conrad… and, of course, every tax cheat, Ponzi schemer, plagiarist and crook in the Administration of Barack O’Rezco.

The only thing more embarrassing than this leadership is the fact that the hapless Republicans can’t even beat them, let alone even stand up to them.

Neal E   June 11th, 2009 - 12:41 pm

Elmer Frank is typical of the arrogant pr1cks we have running congress now. Way out of touch with ‘the people’.

Robert Mallek   June 11th, 2009 - 12:42 pm

There must be a revolution in 2010 and ALL incumbents MUST be voted out.

If you do not vote out these kind of people you deserve them.

simmie   June 11th, 2009 - 12:42 pm

if you ask me bf thong was 2 sizes to tight for this interview!

i just dont get how the people in mass keep voting for these idiots; john kennedy, john kerry, and bf how do these lifers stay in office. they have all gotten rich on the backs of the american people, bf a little more so, if you get my drift. how is it a guy can have his lover running a gay prostitution ring out of bf’s house and still get elected?

come on mass pay attention to what you are doing. my guess is its the layabouts that dont bother or care as long as they get their gov. check every month. thats what bf and most polititians go for the ignorance of the masses.

Laura   June 11th, 2009 - 12:42 pm

Barney Frank is a little old pervert. He’s despicable. He should not be in polite society, much less in congress.

Bubbala   June 11th, 2009 - 12:43 pm

Frank was agitated even before being asked anything — watch his body language while the host is making his intro. statement then question: Frank is already intolerant and he hasn’t even been asked a full question yet. THEN he blurts out, “can I answer/speak” or whatnot.

Frank was simply waiting to attack the questioner, regardless of what was asked of him or said.

As an elected official, AND as one of a few individuals who is keenly reshaping our entire nation’s financials, this man (Barney Frank) should be FORCED TO PROVIDE ALL THE ANSWERS ANY AMERICANS HAVE as to what he’s doing and why.

If we have to apply a buzz-chord to Frank while he sits in a chair and let it go whenever Frank starts his snitting, then so be it, but this guy has to be held responsible before the American public for explaining what he’s doing and why he’s doing it, every single step of the way.

That he is consistently SO resentful and SO intolerant of ANY questions put before him, whether or not he likes the questions isn’t the point, he should be compelled to answer or held up on some charges for defrauding the public.

What does he think public office is? It’s PUBLIC, that money he’s playing around with is not his, it’s the taxpayers’. Frank’s ongoing intolerance and ridicule of being asked to explain himself (this goes on and on and on and…) is a keen indication that he’s unfit for public office. If not worse.

Karma   June 11th, 2009 - 12:44 pm

He is a big, damn baby.

PrinceofSnides   June 11th, 2009 - 12:44 pm

After watching this video do you think Barney believes he is working for you or do you think Barney thinks we are working for him?

Whoever is voting for this bozo should be ashamed of themselves.

jrscott, the government has no business talking about capping anyone’s pay execpt for government employees. Companies that took TARP are still private enterprises and keep in mind some of them were FORCED to take it. Just because they took TARP doesn’t mean they are failed companies.

And even for those companies that needed it, its a LOAN, not a gift – unless the companies slide into bankruptcy…which is more like with too much government meddling. The government gave this money to banks with the intention of getting paid back with interest. No other bond holders get the kind of power over these companies that the government has taken.

One last point, many execs running these companies today came in after the execs repsonsible for the problems were FIRED. So the administration wants to punish the guys who have come in with the intention of getting these companies back to health. So, because the government can’t go after the fired execs they pick on the next guy in line just to sooth your stupid need for revenge or whatever.

Its populist bullspit and that’s why we have a constitution…so your government cannot make a populist target out of your or anyone else. Now, the crap is out of the horse and I am not sure anyone knows how to get it back in. But since we have allowed our government to trample all over the constitution, you can be sure they will do it again and again. Even Obama’s greatest supporters cannot know for sure, they will not be his next target.

whocares   June 11th, 2009 - 12:45 pm

This is not a 1st for Barney. He routinely walks off angry when someone asks him a questions based on facts that he doesn’t want to answer. The point is correct that most shareholders are at an arms length position the corporate boards as there ownership is through various funds. For those of you educated in government schools that means this whole plan will never work as advertised. But thats not the point. The point is continuing control of the private sector, which in the end will destroy the economy as we have know it. So go ahead Dem’s play the wealth envy card to the max and we’ll see what happens to the country.

Laura   June 11th, 2009 - 12:45 pm

The American people should be able to review and control the salaries of all of these government officials. Little, old, pervert Frank should not be making close to $200 a year.

Bubbala   June 11th, 2009 - 12:46 pm

AND — public, please take note — those expressions that Barney Frank uses as do many on the Left when asked in media nearly any question (”may I speak now” “can I speak now” and “don’t interrupt me, you’ve been speaking for a long time now, I’d like to speak now” and all things similar to that) ARE METHODS OF SPEECH TO AVOID MAKING ANY REVEALING STATEMENT.

The objective behind the use of such expressions is to NOT “speak” ANYthing of any self-revealing or relative importance. That means, those expressions are used LIKE COVER, they’re used to AVOID SAYING ANYTHING REVEALING but simply to stir a pot or create a cloud of words that redirects what would have been a question into others’ realm of forgotten information (listeners/others soon forget what the point was, what the question was, the person attempted to be questioned then “steps aside” or away from the question, avoids being questioned).

Kristen   June 11th, 2009 - 12:48 pm

Barney Frank is a joke. He needs to GO in 2010 along with Nancy Pelosi.

Once you limit executive pay then everyone who works for that person is next. Executive pay goes down then the additional profit should go to the share holders but the government will then put a limit on the amount of profit a company can make and take the money. It’s not that hard to figure out what is going on.

citiusaltius   June 11th, 2009 - 12:53 pm

I am so glad to see Mark Haines not give a flip to commie Frank. We are losing our country to a bunch of over-zealot leftists and unless and until the media wakes up and starts asking tough questions, Washington is going to end up usurping anything & everything that comes its way. Way to go, Mark!! Only an arrogant state like Mass could end up voting a blowhard like Frank. Shame on you guys.

I’m embarrassed to live on the same planet as Frank. A twit that couldn’t survive with a real job. I sure hope he has to pay money to serve – even minimum wage would be too much pay for his sucking of economic production. Barney Fife does this every time someone corners him in a verbal conversation – which is essentially whenever he opens his mouth. Barney, please stop wasting the space you exist in. Go away. Venezuela, Cuba, or Nicaragua would love to have you and you would fit right in. Asshat leach of America.

peter c   June 11th, 2009 - 12:56 pm

I am from Boston and I have never voted for this perverted liar. But you are right.Mass is a messed up State.the people here are so brainwashed by the Dems that they go to the polls and see most Dems running unopposed. It’s really sickening. Our Governor is Obama Mini Me.He has done nothing except overturning a law that stated anyone who gets married here must live here so the G@ys from all over the world can come here and get married…and he squashed a referendum that had 170,000 signatures on the G@y Marriage law. He has done absolutely nothing else.
Now he has hired “The One’s” campaign manager for his rerun in 2010. he will do the same as he did three years ago…act arrogant and promise the world..especially to people of color to get their vote and then walk away from them and the whole State.
And Kennedy ,Kerry and Frank do the very same thing every time the run again…and the SHEEPLE just go to the polls like zombies and vote for them again and again.
I don’t know what it will take, if ever, to wake people up to the Sham these dems are and their Socialist-Atheist agenda.

TWIGGYY   June 11th, 2009 - 12:56 pm

You know all this talk about States susceeding from the Union etc. it made me think – what we need to do is start the grassroots effort to boot certain States out of the Union due to the ignorance of the voters:
1. Mass
2. California
3. Nevada
I would have said New York, but they seem to be making the turn back to normalcy

Angry Right Winger   June 11th, 2009 - 1:00 pm

Leave to the idiots that keep voting this piece of garbage in……..

DUGinFLA   June 11th, 2009 - 1:00 pm

This is actually a classic Barney Frank interview. The second you start cleaning his clock (which apparently isn’t hard to do), he acts as though he’s offended by the interviewing style (being interrupted, etc.) Mark is an old school market guy and can see the score better than most.

Todd P.   June 11th, 2009 - 1:01 pm

This is a classic example of how the DEMOCRATS have spun out of control. They have no interest in traditional American values of “the harder you work, the more successful you will be” and “sucking off the Govt. teat is shamefull”. This administration is all about grabbing power and CONTROLLING the citizens. The Dems in power now would have despised JFK if he were alive today; doesn’t that say all you need to know?……

EvilBsankers   June 11th, 2009 - 1:01 pm

Ask Barney Frank why he is blocking H.R. 1207 – the Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009.

There are currently 207 co-sponsors for H.R. 1207, yet Mr. Frank – the head of the financial services circus – has yet to co-sponsor it himself.

What is Frank hiding? Who is he protecting? Tell your representative to co-sponsor H.R. 1207 despite Frank’s obstruction of the truth.

Greg Ransom   June 11th, 2009 - 1:01 pm

These guys are power mad.

Absolute Congressional power has absolutely corrupted Barney Frank.

kelvin   June 11th, 2009 - 1:02 pm

This is Hugo Chavez banana republic government at it’s worst.

Throw the clown fool Obama out, and the pervert Frank and crook Dodd with him.

Steve C   June 11th, 2009 - 1:04 pm

Here is the bottom line America – If we wake up on November 3rd, 2010 and Nancy Pelosi is looking at 2 more years as Speaker and Barney Frank is looking at 2 more years as Chair of the House Financial Services Committee, you can stick a fork in the USA. It’s done. Last one out turn off the lights, please.

JohnnyAmerican   June 11th, 2009 - 1:07 pm

Barry Frank is part of the problem, back in 2004 he and his other Communist tried and succeed in stop bank reg’s on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and now he is all concerned. this man needs to be taken out of office as fast as possible. Bet hs is feeling the heat now.

Mason   June 11th, 2009 - 1:07 pm

This guy Frank is a riot. More please. I can’t stop laughing.

bartman   June 11th, 2009 - 1:08 pm

What an idiot. How does Barney Fagg get elected over and over? This guy is one of the major players in the mess and he can’t even express himself without becoming enraged. This is about the third interview I’ve seen him get asked serious questions and just go ballistic. He will never have to account for his mistakes.

Maybe his boyfriend should come take up for this clown. You know the one who was caught turning tricks in Frank’s basement.

TNinfidel   June 11th, 2009 - 1:08 pm

Enough is enough. One way or another Barney Fag and his traitorous colleagues have to go. Time to take back the Republic.

mustlovedogs   June 11th, 2009 - 1:08 pm

I usually don’t comment on sites but I am very gratified to see the number of people who are sick and tired of Washington politicians actively working to destroy our great country. Barney Frank wouldn’t qualify to bag my groceries and yet somehow, he is running the very powerful and influential Banking Committee. The banking industry is an unqualified disaster…that’s all the evidence you need that this man is completely incompitent.

Kevin   June 11th, 2009 - 1:08 pm

“When did CNBC join the vast right wing conspiracy?”

Apparently, any tough question, two-way debate, pro business comment, or anything that remotely questions what the admonistration is doing is driven by a right wing conspiracy. Typical liberal response when they can’t answer a simple question.

‘Frank Embarrassment’ more like it. Mass has battered spouse syndrome and will continue to vote Barney Fudd back into office.

Kevin   June 11th, 2009 - 1:12 pm

Dems aren’t used to tough questions so what do you expect. All of them expect the same softball questions that Obama receives.

Now, we need some tough questions on energy. Why does it appear that the only way Obama’s energy plan will work is if we get gas prices so high, the alternatives will be feasible. Oil is up 100% from the lows despite oil supplies at 19 year highs. We should be doing everything across the board – nuclear, alternatives and continue drilling for oil.

Too bad this administration won’t allow any honest debate….over anything.

HesaPig   June 11th, 2009 - 1:13 pm

This round mug of poop juice was at the center of the congressional activities in 1999 that encouraged (mandated) that Fannie May and Sallee May relax (such a mild description of “Let’s give a mortgage to anyone who wants one, whether they have any hope of paying or not”) mortgage qualification standards. THAT is how turd buckets like this get reelected. Remember – when you rob from Peter to pay Paul you can usually count on the support of Paul.
YES, let’s also limit the pay of actors, athletes and politicians but ALSO, the union bosses who contributed so much to the demise of these giant corporations through their heavy handed tactics of fear and intimidation.

Things will never get better until people stop voting in the same politcal corrupt people..don’t get fooled by slick talking repub and demo politicians that you feel well my guy in my state/city is the exception.. They all say one thing and do whatever the hell they are suppose to by their puppet owners… Am I the only one that can see this!!!!!!!!!!

dudefromdixie   June 11th, 2009 - 1:23 pm

Bah bah Bahney. You’re a disgrace to the political establishment. Go take a long walk down a short pier.

DL13   June 11th, 2009 - 1:23 pm

I’m going to start watching CNBC again after this. I thought that GE had shut them down from giving any negative press to the Dems, but perhaps I have erred. Frank should have been investigated a long time ago for his lies and his role in supporting Fannie and Freddie when he knew they were failing. Having his lover working for Fannie was a conflict of interest and he should not have been on the committee. He deserves whatever loathing he receives.

Courteous Wolf   June 11th, 2009 - 1:25 pm

Barney, and the rest of his ilk, are part of a conserted effort to destroy the American Way, along with capitalism, and Patriotism. It won’t work! When the pendulum swings back, there are going to be some serious ramifications. I also hope it’s peaceful, but if it isn’t, so be it!

mitch   June 11th, 2009 - 1:25 pm

This is a typical interview with Frank. He uses the same tired phrases over and over. He can, because he is never held accountable for anything.

Martha Babci   June 11th, 2009 - 1:27 pm

First Nancy Pelosi abruptly ended a news conference when asked about her CIA briefings, now Barney throws a pissy fit. Touchy, touchy, touchy.

I’m don’t have to take this. Do you know who I am? Do you know how much power I have?

DavidArizona   June 11th, 2009 - 1:28 pm

This is laughable. Barney Franks is one of the very few people who can be directly associated with the cause of the mortgage industry’s collapse.

starykozel   June 11th, 2009 - 1:29 pm

Frank keeps looking to his left; he is either:

1) watching cute ass of some teenage boy who was just passing by

or

2) waiting for the teleprompter to tell him what to say.

I guess the teleprompter was just at that moment being used by The US President, heehee. So this esteemed senator decided to make quick exit.

Erkel   June 11th, 2009 - 1:30 pm

So Barney once again gets a little ‘testee’ in the Halls of Congress. This time however he prematurely pulls out to prevent emasculation.

After ‘doing’ boy pages in those very halls, the progressive people of Massachusetts continue to return him. Now who’s getting screwed!?

Mary Miller   June 11th, 2009 - 1:32 pm

Although I am not a fan of manufactured consent [meaning all media since they work for conglomerates who sell listening, viewing, and reading audiences to advertisers], I laud this stock reporter for having the “guts” to stand up to this hired man. Another aristocratic politician that needs to be dethroned. He, historically, along with all those politicians that continue to hide behind their storied past and not fight against the complacency surrounding the edifice that has now become our representing body, is part of the problem. The other problem is the government, both democrats, republicans, and their spatial location.
Recall that the designers of the Constitution worried that the aforementioned three entities would wield such enormous power until the P in “we the People” would become obsolete. Prescient statements coming from dead old “White” men [now we see why they are under attack] predicted what has taken place over the last sixty years. The sad part is that this current congress [yes little c, not big c] is a culmination of this aristocracy ideology.
We the [P]eople need to come together collectively in praxis [physical movement, meaning marching on their turf, Washington, D.C], in addition to voting them out of our government. Until these two things are achieved in concert, we the [P]eople will continue to be left out of the true political process. Instead of a divided tea party happening in multiple states, we have to take it to the source, Washington D.C. Dare I say, take a page from history [experience] of the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s. Are not our Civil Rights being slowly eroded. Is this not a call to shake [c]ongress back into the business of the [M]any and not the few?
Hobbes, Locke, Hume pontificated and defended it best when they philosophized that [P]eople came before government. Think about the following comment:Disparate from the philosophical riddle “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?” that raises questions regarding observation and knowledge of reality. The government knows [hoping that you do as well] that it ceases to exist if it has no people. Essentially, the people can exists without a governing body, which means that we the [P]eople have the right to assembly as you will to challenge the government by any means.

I challenge you to read the Great Rehearsal and the other books concerning government and then act accordingly. We have the internet and unlike the 1960s, we do not have to wait for snail mail to blast the word to the mass populous. However, we do need to organize across party lines because this is our last area of defense for us the [P]eople.

I can’t wait for the RICO proceedings that have to emerge if this administration and Congress continue to try to sc rew and bully America…

Surely there are still HONEST members of the DoJ, FBI etc who will look into all their misdeeds and outright corruption

I STILL BELIEVE IN THE AMERICAN DREAM and that it can only be achieved with ’sweat equity’ and perserverance!

Heywood   June 11th, 2009 - 1:37 pm

Sounds just like Newt Gingrich. Looks like Newt Gingrich. Both parties stink like day-old fish.

Perseus317   June 11th, 2009 - 1:41 pm

Uh-oh! I think that CNBC is going to get another nasty call from GE head, Jeffrey Imelt and the heads of their media parent, NBC. Someone is going to be taken out to the corporate woodshed for treating the leftist leaders disrespectfully by asking the tough questions. Possibly, like they did with Santelli, a few others at CNBC will be sent to “re-education camps” to learn how NOT to threaten the current administration by seeking the truth and questioning its policies.

YankeeBill   June 11th, 2009 - 1:42 pm

Barney reminds me of Pol Pot!!!

A fat, stupid, vile, ignorant, scary little Dictator
who thinks he’s above all us little people!!!

Don’t cross him, or you could end up on his Naughty List and be marked for Termination!!!!

BE AFRAID AMERICA, IS THIS THE FUTURE OF POLITICS??

fedupinmich   June 11th, 2009 - 1:42 pm

We as “Americans” have to wake up!! This is unbelievable, I feel every day like I’m in the Twillight Zone. For gosh sakes. Barney is a creator of the problems we are in now!! YOU MUST share with your friends and family every day what is going on if they are not learning on there own. Our only shot away from becoming the United Socialist States of America (USSA), is to rise up and take back the House!!! 2010 the line in the sand will be drawn!

Str8man   June 11th, 2009 - 1:42 pm

pffffft frank has managed, with the help of government media, to shift all blame for his part in this global financial meltdown away from himself.

girammab   June 11th, 2009 - 1:43 pm

Barney Frank answers the question, “How dumb can a highly educated person be?”

andrew   June 11th, 2009 - 1:43 pm

Give Barney a break…he had to leave due to a meeting at a hotel with an underage male prostitute. You know, it’s not polite to be late!

afuel   June 11th, 2009 - 1:45 pm

Great job Mr. Haynes on calling out this obfuscating, lying power mad ultra liberal jerk.

I and many others have some major concerns that many at CNBC are in the tank for the Messiah or afraid to ask the hard questions for fear of retailiation. You and Santelli and a couple others are showing what a real journalist is supposed to do. Wall St. better wake up as the facist regime has got their eye on you and is going to tax and regulate until you beg for mercy while cutting the One a large fat check which still won’t save you.

Way too many in the media have rolled over for the Messiahs Regime and you have allowed his minions in on your daily operations.

Again Mark thank you for showing us how its supposed to be done. Barney “pedo” Frank is a disgrace to this country.

Dale   June 11th, 2009 - 1:46 pm

Barney, Ever tried auto-erotic asphyxiation?

Jesse Helms   June 11th, 2009 - 1:49 pm

Barney Frank is an overage male prostitute who keeps getting voted in because Massachusetts voters are brain dead.

kevin mcmahon   June 11th, 2009 - 1:49 pm

can’t someone just make Barney go away – he is the biggest GASBAG around and is a BIG PART of this whole mess to begin with – he is a walking advertisement for TERM LIMITS!

Ty Coon   June 11th, 2009 - 1:51 pm

Why isn’t this pedophile in prison? People in Massachusetts, simply have to be the most STUPID citizens in AmeriKa !! Snake handlers like this pervert are EXACTLY what is WRONG with the new U.S.S.A. Pathetic as anything DEMONRATS have ever come up with in their miserable existence. Please, all socialist scum, move to China, Venezuela, Nicaragua, anywhere…other than HERE !!

stevesdenver   June 11th, 2009 - 1:52 pm

Barney had to get going because he had a hot teabagging date.

BuzzinNH   June 11th, 2009 - 1:53 pm

He is one of the reasons I moved out of Mass. He refuses to accept any responsibility for a mess he helped create, yet he is overwhelmingly re-elected. People in his district are such dumb asses.

Big Jim   June 11th, 2009 - 1:54 pm

Barny can’t take the heat about questions of the Democrats failure of the way they are handling the economy and foreign relations.

Drano   June 11th, 2009 - 2:00 pm

I see comments frequently calling for term limits – we already have term limits – it’s called an election.

The voters and others of the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts are getting what the deserve in the way of representation in congress. They would like the rest of the country to be a mirror image of themselves.

Texman   June 11th, 2009 - 2:05 pm

Years back, Barney would bully people because he never had to justify himself….now that he has to justify, he knows he cant and a common tactic in debate is create a fictional block from the other side as if they are refusing you time……he is a fraud…..and the people of Mass who elected him should be ashamed of yourselves!

Richard   June 11th, 2009 - 2:06 pm

PARTY TRUMPS PERSON!
You voted for that smart nice guy who just happened to be a Democrat.
One more Democrat shifted the balance of power to the Democrats and we are stuck with Barney Fa6. And Nancy and Harry and John Kerry in positions of real power.
Feel better about being an Independent Voter?
And how is Hope and Change working out for you?

patriotparty1   June 11th, 2009 - 2:07 pm

Please will the people from this arrogant, ignorant, asshole’s state get rid of him!!!!!!!!!!! If they want to talk about pay and bonus control, let’s start with what they paid Franklin Reins to run Fannie and Freddie into the ground!!! Millions, and millions more in bonus. Those are your backyard Barney, if you want to control some pay, START THERE!
You and Chris Dodd are the ones that caused this frickin mess, and you were the ones in charge of oversite, which was non existant, so shut the f— up and do what your bosses, us are telling you to do. Stop telling us what you are going to do. Follow the constitution, follow the laws of the land, and follow what the people tell you to and NOTHING ELSE!

SgtMajH   June 11th, 2009 - 2:07 pm

This is typical Blarney Frankenstien. This guy has to verbally assult anyone that questions him then says he is being interupted and others are being rude to him. You know what? If this guy spoke to me on the street like that I would open hand slap him right in the face. He is a panzy and his mouth is both insulting and an entry point for some other man. DISGUSTING HUMAN BEING!

Pam   June 11th, 2009 - 2:08 pm

Everytime I see this Barney ” the jerk ” Frank

Joyce M/Blythe   June 11th, 2009 - 2:10 pm

Barney needs to sit his butt down and answer our questions!

2010 is going to be very interesting. Kick them all out, they have all lied to us for decades. When it comes to politicians you can’t tell the difference between a repub and a dem.

Everyone in government should take at least a 10% paycut. But instead, they last month voted themselves a RAISE!

P{atR   June 11th, 2009 - 2:13 pm

Barney Frank defended both Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac before they caused the collapse of the world’s financial institution. He is by far one of the most obnoxious elected officials from any state, and that’s saying alot. He lies and gets away with it under the cover of the main stream media. What these liberal democrats have done in the last 120 days under Obama to destroy the economy of the USA is unprecedented. These creeps want a total socialist government and the power that goes with it. Wake up America!

Elroy Jetson   June 11th, 2009 - 2:15 pm

Why does Bawney always sound like he has someone in his mouth? ‘To distract us from his conspicuous abscence of character?

Joey C   June 11th, 2009 - 2:18 pm

Barney Frank is a disgrace to the US Congress. Will the people of MA please develop some common sense and vote this man out of office.

Am I one of the few who sees this country heading toward Socialism with this Administration and Congress? Who in their right minds believes that THIS government with its profligate, over-budget, deficit spending is in a position to regulate or control US businesses? It boggles the mind….truly it does.

Hear this Mr. Frank. Get out of the business of regulating business now, or you and your friends will be as unemployed as many in the country are today.

Varget   June 11th, 2009 - 2:18 pm

Hey Barney –
The White House just called.
Obama puked up a pair of your pantyhose.
AGAIN!

LogicalSC   June 11th, 2009 - 2:19 pm

Barney Frank should be in Leavenworth for this role in the entire meltdown of the subprime welfare mess.

He is perfectly representive of the usual Leftist who uses his perverted sexual practices, gender or race to bully opposition with political correctness.

Isn’t it becoming clearer and clearer each day that in order to resolve the current crisis in American government, that leftists as represented by Barney Frank, Obama, Reid and Pelosi must be driven out of control and replaced with people of real substance and common sense based on their qualifications not their “victimhood”!!

Paul A   June 11th, 2009 - 2:19 pm

Your network panders to these idiots to begin with and then when they don’t cooperate with you you are upset. Of course this idiot was a major cause in the entire economic collapse we had. It had nothing to do with Bush and all to do with the democratic congress that forced the banks to lend to people who couldn’t afford their homes. There was no need to go any further with the interview with Barney. What’s the problem here now that Bush isn’t in office and Obamanomics is sending us into socialism you want to fight with this retard. Shame on you and all the folks that voted for him. Especially ashame to Barney and the rest of the communists in office. and special mention to nazi pulosi.

John W.   June 11th, 2009 - 2:24 pm

Frank is the posterchild for why government should not be in the business of running anything. Remember if he had not been a sitting Democrat Congressman at the time of the ‘incident’, he would have a felony conviction on his record for owning and/or operating a brothel. Good grief!

carl6352   June 11th, 2009 - 2:26 pm

FIRST OFF BARNEY CANT WALK HE WODDLES. AS FOR RIDER237. THIS MESS STARTED IN 98 WHEN CLINTON TRIED TO STOP THE FANNIES FROM LENDING TO BAD RISKS. REPUBLICAN CONGRESS PASSED HIS BILL. CHRIS DODD KILLED IT IN THE SENATE. ROUND 2 AND 3 UNDER BUSH SAME THING PASSED REPUBLICAN HOUSE KILLED IN SENATE BY CHRIS DODD. THE MAIN CAUSE OF THIS DISASTER RESTS ON ONE MAN CHRIS DODD D. NOW HE IS TAKING CREDIT FOR PASSING THE PORK OOPS STIMULUS BILL. THIS MESS WAS CAUSED BY 4 DEMOCRATS. FRANK, DODD, RIED, PELOSI. IT DOES NOT MATTER AS BY NEXT YEAR CHINA WILL STOP BUYING OUR DEBT AND TAKE OVER THE COUNTRY THRU DEFAULT. I HAVE ALREADY STARTED LEARNING CHINESE YOU SHOULD ALSO. I HAVE LIVED IN THE FAR EAST I KNOW THESE PEOPLE. YOU ARE IN FOR A SURPRISE.

This is liberalism.

Fezzman   June 11th, 2009 - 2:30 pm

Ya a brothel with young boys in it. This guy is so disgusting it makes my dog puke when he is on TV. Way to go Massachusetts! You all should be proud of the freak show you have for representiatives up there. Oh they complain about high taxes too but they keep voting in the same tards every election. They deserve what they get and they truly are a disgrace to the founding father, John Adams!

Lukuj   June 11th, 2009 - 2:30 pm

When you know there is no real answer to questions you are asked that will not show your true agenda, you take any opportunity you can to get away from the questions. The people of Massachusetts who vote for this guy must have the IQs of rutabagas or be as corrupt as he is. Surely there must be enough sane people in Massachusetts to get rid of this man(and I use the term loosely).

To the voters of Massachusetts: How many of you who are losing your homes to foreclosure or short sales voted for Barney Frank and Obama? How many of you have seen the appraised value of your homes decline to less than what you currently owe to the lender, voted for Barney Frank and Obama? How many of you who have lost, or are in jeopardy of losing your jobs, voted for Barney Frank and Obama? How many of you who have lost your jobs and as a result, now have no medical insurance, voted for Barney Frank and Obama? Are you still blaming George Bush for your misfortune? In spite of the fact he tried to straighten out the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac fiasco, he was blocked at every attempt by democrats, including Barney Frank. How many of you still support the democrat party that is hell-bent on destroying our economy, and toadying to countries that want kill all of us; not because of anything George Bush did, but simply because we as a nation are not followers of their “religion of peace”, which calls for death to all infidels (non muslims). Barney Frank is the poster child for the intolerant liberal left. Is this what you want representing your friends, your family, and the great State of Massachusetts, one of the original colonies; settled by courageous and honorable seekers of liberty and freedom, who sacrificed and paid dearly to leave these ideals for the generations to follow? Barney Frank does no honor to this legacy.
Next election, please come to your senses and send him to his basement permanently.

mister g   June 11th, 2009 - 2:39 pm

All this discussion and proposed legislation around executive compensation limitations is for naught. Those companies not tied to TARP will not follow any of the proposed guidelines from the Treasure and if the Fed Gov’t tries to impose them, these same companies will file suit, claiming that the regulations are unconstitutional preventing free trade. Most importantly, the Supreme Court will also declare this sort of regulation as unconstitutional!

John Campbell   June 11th, 2009 - 2:40 pm

I hate to say this, but this is not exactly news anymore. It seems that Barney Frank and MSNBC Anchors have something in common. Both make false statements to start with, accuse the interviewer (of Frank) or the one being interviewed (by MSNBC)for interrupting them, followed by a rant, then cutting off the interview. It’s happened so much in the last few weeks that it’s old hat. I have no idea what anyone would expect to get by interviewing Barney Frank for anything. He’s been caught, discredited, and yet he’s still there doing even more damage. At least MSNBC can only damage those who are already gullable enough to watch them. Frank damages the entire nation.

Peri Monroe   June 11th, 2009 - 2:40 pm

The Drudge knuckledraggers are running amock here. The bad loans were made between 2002 and 2006 when the Republicans controlled all branches for Government. Most subprime loans were not covered under the CRA and those that were have performed better than non CRA loans. I know facts don’t matter to you. Better to blame it on Barney Frank who had absolutely no power when this mess was created or blame it on the Black people which you love to do but don’t accept any responsibility to the mell of hess your lame Preznit Bush made of things. It must be a crazy crazy world in your little reptilian brains.

He is responsible for the housing problem. I agree with an earlier poster. Thanks for nothing Massachusetts.

Good ole buttdart Barney, any party with this POS in it’s leadership should NEVER be in charge of anything.Just a thought here on control of compensation, would George Sorros, Oprah, all the Hollywood libs and big democrap donors be targeted?

consrv   June 11th, 2009 - 2:49 pm

To Representative Barney Frank, copy to Senator Chris Dodd: I believe you are culpable in this economic mess. You sat by and yelled down Republican concerns about the growing risk that was apparent to all but you in the sub prime housing loans. If you and Dodd had any integrity at all, you would resign your chairmanships and resign from the House and the Senate, then turn yourselves into the Justice Department. You are miserable, cowardly, spineless, pusillanimous liberal democrats, a discredit to your states, a discredit to your country and a discredit to The House of Representatives and the Senate. You have had careers amassed with bad judgment, poor decisions and embarrassing conduct. You should end this humiliation quickly without fanfare and no further cost to the taxpayers that you have so woefully represented.

Kenny in Dallas   June 11th, 2009 - 2:52 pm

See you at the revolution….hopefully, it will be bloodless.

I have an idea:

1) Fire every person currently in elected office.

2) Allow no one to replace them who has been in public office at any time, in any position, for any reason, in the last 25 years.

3) Ban all political parties as treasonous organizations.

4) Force anyone running for office OR running for reelection to submit a minimum of 50K signatures of living people to the Post Office in order to be allowed on the ballot……

5) If THAT doesn’t work? What’s the Shah’s son up to? I’m sure we can re-found the Javidan Guards.

Has anyone noticed that when Mr. Frank is asked a really, hard direct question that he doesn’t like, he attacks the person asking it? From me: “Barney, can we be “Frank?” Apparently not. This guy is responsible for bringing down our “financial house” and he’s still drawing his pay??? Let’s see, he’s from Massachusetts, right? I wonder what % of morons will vote for him again. A lie is a lie is a lie. And Mr. Frank has no problem playing the part of a liar very very well.

ASK   June 11th, 2009 - 3:14 pm

First of all BF is a plaque on this country – but the issue does get complicated.
I frequently get prozy stmts and still don’t feel like I have a voice and when companies are being mismanaged and the execs are getting paid totally out of whack it is frustrating and we wish that we could do something..

But it makes me sick when the fox with his own hand in the (our) hen-house, you have to be kidding. BHO, BF, and the rest who are rich having never really earned it, dictating how much the rest of can earn is INSANE.

Jim   June 11th, 2009 - 3:14 pm

This man is the perfect example of why we need a Revolution in the US to take back the Country. These arrogant elitist liberal politicians forget they work for us. Because of them we now work just to pay taxes and fees. Get the Government out of our lives. Get involved, throw them all out, or we will be left with nothing.

AS for Barney Frank, he and Chris Dodd should be in jail.

Bob   June 11th, 2009 - 3:14 pm

Ah, yes. Fascism reins supreme in the United States. Democrats, now that they have power, no longer need to explain themselves – and a boss, Obama, who thinks he is some God’s gift to man, that looks like a jackass every time he comes over to the EU.

I hope you Americans remain ignorant until your country completely collapses with these morons in charge.

Red Stuck in Blue   June 11th, 2009 - 3:14 pm

I live in MA. Unfortunately BF is not my Rep otherwise I’d vote his sorry butt out. We in MA have long experienced what the rest of the country is now waking up to. Namely, a one party power structure is pure tyranny. Patronage runs rampant .. just lookm at the bogus “bankruptcy settlements”. Political favoratism trumps business sense. A-holes like BF can spit in our faces on TV and get away with it. Letterman uses national TV to slime a conservative leader in the most vile manner … not a wimper from the DEmocrats or feminists. Sadly, the loyal opposition has no guts .. they are being slapped around like a national pinata ..only fitting, eh?
We need to continue to build on the tea party concept. I support the VOID concept ..Vote Out Incumbent Democrats! The Pols have no spheres, but we do!

Blarney   June 11th, 2009 - 3:16 pm

Barney Frank caused most of this mess by his coercion and extortive moves against Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac…he is a criminal yet to be charged, and his sordid past with underage interns is really just a window into this twisted man’s hateful soul. Anyone who defends this man and his bigoted outlook of our country and systems, is merely fertilizer for the crap this government is growing. And in just a few years, we will all be paying twice as much in taxes to pay for their arrogance, and earning half as much once he tells us what we’re worth.

For once, I have to agree with Barney Frank. From what I can see here, the guy from CNBC wouldn’t shut up and let him talk. I’m sure this is the last time I’ll come to Frank’s defense, but we need to talk to each other instead of over each other.

Notwithstanding his role enabling male prostitution at his taxpayer-funded home (refer to http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,958598,00.html, Mr. Frank has never created a job, never met a payroll, and done NOTHING economically productive. Yet the man who spearheaded as champion, through intense political pressure and legislative fiat, the subprime mortgage fiasco that has created our current financial crisis, now believes he has some mandate of the people to repair our economic system.

If this Socialist truly wants to repair the great damage he and his ilk have caused to this nation, he should RESIGN IMMEDIATELY.

Mr. Frank, to quote the late Rep. Lantos, tour fellow traveler, “with an infinitely more distinguished public record than yours, Admiral Boorda committed suicide when he may have committed a minor mistake.” For the good of the nation, put an end to America’s shame and misery and just leave office!

To Jdizz

“The current system overly rewards risk taking, no matter the outcome – and at the expense of tax payers and shareholders. That is fact.”

The market system is not broken. Fannie Mae was taking on incredible risk that was government-backed and pushed since 1999 (Clinton Admin). The NY Times even reported on this. Fannie bought mortgages providing liquidity and credit to the financial institutions. When the bubble burst – so did Fannie, so did the credit industry, so did Wall Street, so did the banks, so did business – there goes our jobs. Gov’t intervention got us INTO this mess. Not executive pay. Businesses make profits. No one is going to pay themselves more than what is sustainable for profit – that would dry up their well. This is simple market economics. Tell govt to get their destructive, sticky fingers OUT of the private sector.

When are the American People going to wake out of their Sex & Drugs and Rock “N” Roll (Viagra/Cocaine – Pot/Bruce Springsteen) stupor and rise up and cast off (over-throw by vote!) these morons that have infiltrated and perverted our country. The Tea-Parties are a start, some States are beginning to awaken, but it is the PEOPLE whom must stand up and be involved.

This pervert needs to be thrown out and go find himself a bath house to corrupt!

Ready   June 11th, 2009 - 3:35 pm

Barney Frank. The turd that just won’t flush. The obnoxious liberal moron who worked tirelessly to lay the foundation for the current economic mess. The purge will be so sweet.

Alex Ramirez   June 11th, 2009 - 3:36 pm

MSNBC Business channel is the way GE and MSNBC asks America for pardon for running the putrid ultra-left MSNBC News joint next door.

Rob Phillips   June 11th, 2009 - 3:42 pm

Barney always seems like he’s angry and running behind. He seems to thrive at the bottom performance level(s). Wow, he’s so intolerant of other people & rude. A very angry man. Maybe he needs a nap, some orange juice, and a hug.

M. Banks   June 11th, 2009 - 3:43 pm

Typical Democrate, ask them a straight shooting question and they fumble, stumble then run for the hills. Barney empty your mouth before you try to speak!

Disgusted with all Washington Idots   June 11th, 2009 - 3:43 pm

Barny Franks is a disgusting old looking perv. The reason he sounds like he’s talking with something in his mouth is because he’s actually wind bag politician who is talking out his a-hole. Just a lot of hot air coming from that hole…

Watchman   June 11th, 2009 - 3:45 pm

Actually, I don’t blame Frank for walking away. As much as I despise the guy, I think he should have been given a chance to respond without interruptions. FOXNews does it too and it drives me crazy. Let the people respond and shutup. I’m tired of the liberal news media MAKING the news rather than being objective and REPORTING the news.

pbm   June 11th, 2009 - 3:46 pm

How have we allowed our system devolve to the point where this man has extreme power and authority? His arrogance to think he cannot be held accountable is egregious and insulting.

JImJinNJ   June 11th, 2009 - 3:47 pm

barney the “banking queen”. you go, Mark, kick that dumbo off the air. nobody gives a crap what he says anyway.

Sniper609   June 11th, 2009 - 3:48 pm

RE: “How does someone like him get elected in the first place? What’s wrong with Democrat’s brains?”

The answer is, is that the Democrats all have their collective brains stuck up Barney’s butt.

G.   June 11th, 2009 - 3:50 pm

$100 bucks says the good subjects of Massachusetts re-elect this scum recepticle.

DB   June 11th, 2009 - 3:53 pm

Barney Frank is the SINGLE greatest cause for the world’s meltdown and this prick should be in jail.

haw haw   June 11th, 2009 - 3:55 pm

Barney Fag! Haw haw haw!

db   June 11th, 2009 - 3:55 pm

Sniper609: Answer: Brains and Democrats is an oxymoron, with emphasis on MORONS. The are intellectually lazy, stupid, deluded people, period.

Deb   June 11th, 2009 - 3:55 pm

Government has no right to bailout, monitor pay build a car, destroy contracts, liquidate bondholders or even change a light bulb. You stupid liberals think its only the big fish that are getting skinned. By this time next year you’ll realize your were nothing but bait.

Sean Grady   June 11th, 2009 - 3:56 pm

So if we reject government control of every facet of human existence, we want to “sit back and do nothing”? Frank was repeating another lie from the Teleprompter – in – Chief, wanting us to believe that if big government doesn’t fix it, it wont get fixed. Well, Barney, your sticking your nose where it has no constitutional business is part of the reason we are in this mess. The sooner we are rid of you and your America hating, anti-semite leftist cronies, the sooner we will be on the road back to prosperity as a country.

Jim   June 11th, 2009 - 3:57 pm

Mr. Frank needs to be reminded of the fact that he works for the people of this country. He uses this tactic constantly to avoid answering questions that he either doesn’t understand or doesn’t want to answer. Term limits please, because the bad decisions of voters in Mr. Franks districts are having a profound effect on everyone in the country, and until we rid ourselves of the career politicians, new fresh ideas and thinking will never see the light of day!

Gayle   June 11th, 2009 - 3:58 pm

Vote his immature butt out of office. He & Chris Dodd are the reason for the housing mess anyway.

hayduke   June 11th, 2009 - 4:00 pm

Imagine a country so diseased and corrupt that a pig like barney frank is elected to any office. Imagine a country where he is elevated in the power structure and you have a failed state.

TH   June 11th, 2009 - 4:01 pm

This a perfect example of arrogancey at it peak. This a** thinks he is ten feet tall and bullet proof. He never take ownership of any of the problems this country is in yet again and again the finacial problems start in his commitee. Barney take your head out your a** when you speak then maybe we can understand you.

Scott   June 11th, 2009 - 4:03 pm

Barny Franks is an arrogant blowhard and has no business representing the people. He should be thrown out of office by his constituents.

TH   June 11th, 2009 - 4:04 pm

THIS IDIOT SHOULD BE THE POSTER CHILD FOR TERM LIMITS

liss   June 11th, 2009 - 4:04 pm

Barney Frank, another prime example of stupidity of our government. Virtually ALL the bums should be kicked out of office and the ones who deserve it, should go to prison. What a jerk Frank is.

Dave   June 11th, 2009 - 4:05 pm

Frank is a big baby and a hypocrite. He hauls people in front of his committee and grills them with questions and insinuations non-stop, but when someone tries to ask him questions, he leaves because his feelings are hurt. Boo-frickin-hoo, Barney.

Tim   June 11th, 2009 - 4:07 pm

Barney needs to wipe the man-goo off his chin…

mauren   June 11th, 2009 - 4:09 pm

Barney Frank and Murtha both use the same M.O. The old windbags bluster and shout when asked anything that would place the blame on them. Both of them are crooks and belong in jail ,not serving in our congress. I would trust almost any high school kid before these two jerks. Get rid of them or suffer more of their stupid arrogance. They serve us, not the other way around.

BTW,can you imagine if Bush or Cheney had acted with such childish venom how the media would have gone ballistic? Double, triple standards by the MSM. Thankfully, practically no one cares about them anymore. Bunch of overpaid dunces1

Ed Gibbon   June 11th, 2009 - 4:10 pm

Notice how the conversation developed, Frank says “I dont understand why you say…” to which Haines attempts to clarify, and Frank says “are you going to let me respond?”. The guy is a hectoring, insanely arrogant prick; just that simple.

SDDuude   June 11th, 2009 - 4:13 pm

I think Haines was far too polite with this blowhard. The reason people correct Blarney mid-sentence is because he misrepresents, spins inaccuracies and tells outlandish lies in a long windy statement. TV isn’t designed to deal with someone who speaks as he does. If you can’t play it straight either make it short allowing for others to respond, or allow people to break in.

Rob   June 11th, 2009 - 4:14 pm

I also wonder if Obama and Barney would make Actors, Sports Players, Musicains, and Stars limit their salaries.. maybe to $100,000. This would help the Poor making going to the movies, games, and concerts much cheaper!!! Why don’t the Democrats want to help the poor fans but only want to help the rich????

Jeff   June 11th, 2009 - 4:19 pm

Maybe Haines can run for Congress.
I sometimes think he is bored on CNBC anyway.
He tends to tell it like it is, no matter who he is talking too.
just my $0.02.

Bahnee the Kweeyah is what the kweeyahs of MA have been electing (often UNopposed) for years, and what the state had to put up with. NOW the whole country gets to see and experience liberal/Commie lunatics like this gay windbag.

YOU voted for it America and YOU got it!

Mike   June 11th, 2009 - 4:21 pm

Frank is a tool. He should have been removed from politics back in the 90’s. He’s a perfect example of the idiocracy that’s permeated Washington since senators were elected and not SELECTED by the State legislatures.

There needs to be term limits on Senate seats if only to prevent idiots like him from screwing up all of our lives.

These people need to remind themselves first and foremost that they are there to serve the people and not themselves.

mrstix   June 11th, 2009 - 4:21 pm

Barney Frank is a prime example of what is wrong with our government. He is an arrogant, pompous, brash bully who takes his ball and goes home if things don’t go his way. The people running this party are a disgrace to self-governance. Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid, Chicken Lips Schumer, Kennedy, Levin, Waxman, Feinstein, Kerry,Clinton,Boxer, etc. These are not serious people. They are clowns. They make me want to puke.

Sandy   June 11th, 2009 - 4:22 pm

It’s always someone else’s fault….”Bush did it”…”we inherited it”….etc., etc. Am sure this bloated politician has never taken responsibility for anything in his life.

I guess Barney was late for a date at the glory hole; had to run.

Excellent job on the reporters part!
I am so sick of pols responding without actually referencing the question, or answering the question they want to answer.
Let’s get back to non-career elected officials.

In all fairness...   June 11th, 2009 - 4:33 pm

Bawney Fwank needed to rush off for his afternoon bloowjob with Obama. As I understand it, Barry was going to be giving Bawney a concrete enema and the cement was setting up. So, please don’t be dissing Bawney for being in a hurry.

Steve   June 11th, 2009 - 4:35 pm

He is Nero reincarnated, except he likes to play with balls rather than fiddles.

sandi   June 11th, 2009 - 4:35 pm

Only in Washington could a creep like Barney survive. Take him to my chgo streets and he would be a goner. Someone as disgusting like him would not be accepted in a normal town. he has no teeth and makes us all throw up looking at him. obama has a real nice crew around him and this same crew wants your wallet and every dime of it for their wallet. Better start protesting as the revolt is near.

Hey did you hear the latest news release from Government Motors – Barney Frank will be redesigning the rear ends of GM products!

mrstix   June 11th, 2009 - 4:38 pm

He reminds me of the character ” Cuffy Miegs” from the Ayn Rand Classic, “Atlas Shrugged”. The whole Congress reminds me of characters from that book.

Hey Mel, he does have something in his mouth.

Barney ‘Bozo’ Frank, is exactly what is wrong with the direction our country is going.
Be sure that your lies will find you out Mr. Barloney it’s just a matter of time, and the nation will see what a fraud you are.

TomRoberts   June 11th, 2009 - 4:41 pm

Another reason I moved out of Mass. It has been run by democrats forever, and boasts the lowest scores of any public school system in the country, behind only one other state….Arkansas. We know who ran that state, don’t we?

Mass. residents will continue to reelect him and Kerry and Kennedy forever. It’s in their blood.

jennifer   June 11th, 2009 - 4:46 pm

To RON: The comment you left about the load in his mouth is purely disgusting. I cannot stand Barney Frank anymore than you can and I hope he gets repealed but gee whiz, man, be an adult. That’s just nasty! Sorry to tell you guys this dude was just re-elected in November. I think. lol

FuzzyWuzzy   June 11th, 2009 - 4:48 pm

Someone needs to form a national organization that identifies and targets the specific districts (only) that Frank, Pelosi, Waters, et al. represent and let us contribute to the effort to unseat these corrupt incompetents. The Republicans won’t waste precious funds on districts in which they feel they have no chance.
It’s up to the general public-the people who post here-to do something to get the info to the local voters that they are hurting the entire country when they keep re-electing these crooks.
If a Republican can’t win the district, support a Democrat. Support ANYONE who can rid us of these parasites!

Justin   June 11th, 2009 - 4:50 pm

It’s about time someone told Franks to get lost. Franks possibly should be in jail for corruption. When are the people that vote for Franks going to tell him to get lost too? At the ballot box. This fiasco of a financial mess is a lot of Franks pitiful ineptitude at business. Politicians continue ruin American business. King Barney, terrible..

adlibn   June 11th, 2009 - 4:51 pm

Barney takes a page out of the Obama playbook and completely misrepresents the argument, then tries to respond to the misrepresentation. He should have been kicked off the show then and there. He and Pelosi are the face of the thoroughly corrupt Democrats in Washington.

Sue   June 11th, 2009 - 4:52 pm

Rick Santelli. keep it up men–make us woman proud. kick some major butt

Michael Gordon   June 11th, 2009 - 4:56 pm

What are Barney Frank’s credentials in banking, finance, or mathematics for that manner? He continually behaves like a petulant child, instead of a level-headed public servant. Such arrogance and suspicious defensiveness. Calm down already, while there’s still time before the mid-terms in 2010.

Chris Carter   June 11th, 2009 - 4:57 pm

I have asked this question many times on blogs. Where are his teeth? How can someone in such a visual arena be toothless as well as spineless? He is a shame to our country. How can you take him seriously?

Dave A   June 11th, 2009 - 5:03 pm

Should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set “fair” maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

Curt   June 11th, 2009 - 5:05 pm

I loved the reporter when Frank said, “I’m done with this interview” and he just responded “FINE!!!” and didn’t try to kiss up with this stooge.

If you look at so many of the representatives from EVERY state – how on earth do they keep getting elected???? I’m from CA and we have the 3 stooges – probably the three most corrupt, disgusting, dishonest, haggard women in politics….. I’m completely embarrassed for my state and Barney Frank is in a category all by himself – an arrogant creep!!!

Cannot WAIT for 2010 – Stamp out the Democrats while we still have FREE ELECTIONS!!!

adlibn   June 11th, 2009 - 5:08 pm

The state of Mass. has been imposing turkeys like this on the rest of this country for years(Kennedy’s,Kerry,Markey<Frank etal)what in the hell is wrong with these people. Let’s get rid of Mass and D.C. and let them tax themselves into oblivion, let the rest of us rise to the level of our own abilities as God intended it. Gee Washington ,we really don’t want or need your help. Good job CNBC and Mark Haynes For allowing Mr. Franks to once again expose his ass.

In response to meats’ post….Its not about how people on this post talk about BF. Its ABOUT BF and his arrogance towards those that disagree with his point of view! You can bash the right all you want and still be single-minded. Or you can listen to (I am sure I will get a snotty response) Bill O’Reilly who at least offers the opposition a voice that those same right-wingers get to hear.

meats   June 11th, 2009 - 5:20 pm

The vitupeous, homophobic, foul mouthed comments read here only heighten my understanding of the ignorance in the extreme right of the Rupugnant Party

Rob   June 11th, 2009 - 5:23 pm

How can Barney say “We Inherited this Mess” when he forced Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to accept Below Prime Mortgages creating a market for these bad loans and with the Democrat backed Civil Rights Lawyers pressuring and suing the Banks to follows the Democrat’s Community ReInvestment Act which told banks to give mortgages to poor people who can not afford to buy a house setting in motion the current Financial Crisis ….. and now he wants to force CEOs but not labor or hollywood to reduce their salaries seems as stupid as their earlier messing with the Banks and the Economy!!!

Champsummers   June 11th, 2009 - 5:25 pm

I want Barney to pay back the losses he caused because of the Community Reinvestment Act fiasco. He takes NO responsibility for it at all. He and Chris Dodd need to fess up. As far as his opinion on corporate pay; why would a great manager put up with this? He will go work for another company making the big money and the mediocre manager will work for the government owned company. Great deal for us the shareholder- taxpayer. That is the problem when you have someone ,like Barney, with NO experience in business pretend “HE” knows what he is taking about…A stupid know-it-all with power is very, very, dangerous.

Lessa   June 11th, 2009 - 5:28 pm

Screw resigning. These people work for us, and they need to be treated like incompetent employees would be treated in any other business. They need to be FIRED.

Until he’s removed shame on the folks of the 4th Congressional District! How do you sleep at night, putting him in there, term after term?!

DaveT   June 11th, 2009 - 5:28 pm

This guy is a moron. It is NOT Franks business who gets paid what. I am so sick of these jerks in DC. He is the worst, a true scumbag. I have to ask, since he represents his district, apparently a majority of people share the same moral values, or lack of?

Frank is a waste of skin.

Bone Smuggler   June 11th, 2009 - 5:29 pm

I wonder how Frank’s “partner” can tell which end is which?

John Breland   June 11th, 2009 - 5:32 pm

Well, what do you expect? If you’re called upon to defend indefensible positions, the easiest out is to bluster, say much about nothing, and create a dramatic diversion. For that, BF is a pro with years of practice.

Howl131   June 11th, 2009 - 5:34 pm

frank makes me physically sick, he is the perfect example of an arrogant self serving liberal politician that is responsible for destroying the USA. Wake up middle class America!!! Take back our country, see what happens when you take away God and family from our country.

JustSayNoToTheSphincterHo   June 11th, 2009 - 5:34 pm

Dearest Politically Dependent “Meats” (hard NOT to make a double entendre out of THAT moniker–especially where Barney “Heterphobe” Franks is concerned): Most of us here DON’T align ourselves WITH ANY PARTY. Unlike YOU, we are able to THINK AND RESPOND, independent of an omniscient PARTY ideology. And many of us are playfully applying the “ridicule & rant” tactics of the lunatic Left. We, afterall, DO have a sense of humor…BTW, it’s “vituperous” honey.

Robyn   June 11th, 2009 - 5:39 pm

I am from Missouri’s 1st District and I have been working very hard to get Congressman Clay to co-sponsor HR 1207. Yesterday I was told for the THIRD TIME, than my congressman was not going to support HR 1207 unless Barney Frank supported it. My congressman seems to have taken the position that he listens more to Barney Frank than his constituents and this is how Barney Frank responds to questions? I will be doing everything I can to make the people in my district aware of this.

ClarkOHrepub   June 11th, 2009 - 5:40 pm

BF seems to have a serious problem with questions from opposing viewpoints…. one that has more experience in his little finger than BF has in his entire brain regarding running a business properly!

Massatwoshi*s voters need to purge this guy out of office next time around. He doesn’t give a rats @ss about you! He can claim he’s for the little guy all he wants…its clear he is only a political hack out to walk the extreme liberal gameplan to nationalize all parts of our day to day lives..including YOUR JOB! Think about that one!

natb1   June 11th, 2009 - 5:44 pm

Homosexuals are revealing more and more every day the hate filled tyrants they are. It seems the elected ones now know it is in fact us, who serve them. They are getting scary powerful, and belligerent. People are CURRENTLY getting punished (in the US) for refusing to legitimize their lifestyle.

Republican Forum   June 11th, 2009 - 5:44 pm

And so this is who is running the country basically. Oh wait, did you think it was Obama? The man-boy who cannot give a 5 minute speech without a teleprompter?

We need to stand up and vote these scumbags out of office. Republican and Democrat.

Cleveland Steamer   June 11th, 2009 - 5:52 pm

Mr. Frank had an “episode”, common to his kind. Mr. Frank has marbles in his mouth when he talks. I particularly like to hear him say “loose lips lose likely losers” 10 times fast.

I believe I can understand Chinese before I can understand this creaton.

BF(take it for what it’s worth) is a waste of oxygen. I can not believe the voters in his district continuously send this guy back to represent them. Must be a good ole fashion pickle lickin’ festival in his district!

FrankWearsDependsCuzHisPoopTrackIsUtterlyFlacid   June 11th, 2009 - 6:00 pm

Is it true that Frank’s boyfriend is/was the infamous Franklin Raines, disgraced-yet-highly- compensated former head (no pun intended) of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac? And if correct, wouldn’t this “relationship” be considered “homo-nepotism” and constitute a felony? Or am I thinking of that “other” Barney-Boy-Toy, from the Federal Reserve, who ran the homo-brothel out of Frank’s basement in D.C.? Gosh, there’s just too much salacious info out there, what’s a girl to do?

Just goes to show you Taxachussett’s voter’s really don’t have a vote. There is no other explanation for Barney Franks than voter fraud and hi-jacking elections ala Joe Kennedy, Edward Kennedy. The birth place of the tea party and they don’t even have a say about taxes…..we should build a fence at the border of Massachusett’s and make them apply for citizenship like other immigrants,,, awwww shoot, that wouldn’t work either….

ALVIN   June 11th, 2009 - 6:06 pm

Why does our country allow this scumbag to continue public service. I never read so much about this crook Barney Frank, and he still on the public payroll. My God America! wake up. Anyone with a college education can out debate this moron, vote this bum out. If professional background people investigate this highwayman they can rid him on dirt alone.

CommonSense2009   June 11th, 2009 - 6:07 pm

Hellz yeah that mush-mouthed turd-bugler played a part in the mortgage meltdown!! He was pretty much the main force that strong-armed banks to take on sub-prime loans – a good number of which were to the lazy drug-dealing illegals in his state who are breeding like bunnies…the signs were there, he was just to busy double-fisting whoppers & knob-goblin’ fellow rump-rangers to care! Or maybe the fact that he was currently pumping one of the bank execs played a role?

Shadow   June 11th, 2009 - 6:09 pm

In answer to the question about why Mr. Frank ’sounds so funny’ the answer is ‘he has no teeth’. If he has dentures, he doesn’t wear them, further flaunting his arrogance – why should he make it possible for people to understand him? I’ve never understood a word he says. Being without teeth, combined with his naturally antagonistic nature, causes him to spray spittle all over, too. You don’t want to be in the line of fire when this man is spouting off at someone or something.

John   June 11th, 2009 - 6:09 pm

Barney Frank is a turd burglar

Angry   June 11th, 2009 - 6:10 pm

wait for the elections so we can vote new idiots, tax cheats, liars and self serving jerks into office. Until WE THE PEOPLE stand up and tell these morons enough is enough there will never be change in this country. Too many complacent people that think someone else will take care of everything that’s wrong. REVOLUTION–it worked the first time.

muhamedikbar   June 11th, 2009 - 6:12 pm

Massachusetts……Please, send Rep. (D) Barney Frank “packing” in 2010!!

WhoCaresFU   June 11th, 2009 - 6:14 pm

Poor little baby. Can’t take the heat. If anyone in Massachusetts had a brain (which maybe 5% of them do), you would no longer be in office. But you are are perfect for Washington, that is where ALL of the losers are.

Hickok   June 11th, 2009 - 6:15 pm

My Barney lies over the ocean
My Barney lies over the sea
My Barney removed his dentures
And gave a terrific hum job to me.

Darrel   June 11th, 2009 - 6:16 pm

Another perfect example of the need for term limits.

Jeff   June 11th, 2009 - 6:19 pm

Would somebody feed this pole-smoking loser into a wood chipper and put the rest of us out of our misery? Seriously, he needs to be dragged across a gravel road. Naked. While someone pours salt and bleach on him. Then feces. Then do it all over again just for fun.

kra   June 11th, 2009 - 6:19 pm

Would someone PLEASE fire Frank already!?!

joe   June 11th, 2009 - 6:22 pm

That’s Barney’s standard operating procedure. He tries to mischaracterize what the host was saying to shift the focus off of himself and onto the person posing question so that he can claim victim-hood and never answer.
He is one of the primary people who contribute to the mortgage problem we now face by promoting politically correct lending practices rather than lending on credit-worthiness. What a hack. I wonder if he is still running homo-sexual prostitution rings out of his house. Oh wait, he claimed he didn’t know about it, so I suppose he wouldn’t know now either.

John   June 11th, 2009 - 6:26 pm

Barney belongs in prison for his role and arrogance! He sounds funny because he has marbles in his mouth. They fell out of his brain.

BFHasRottenTeethAndI'mGrossedOut   June 11th, 2009 - 6:28 pm

BF (not to be confused with that deviant, sexual achronym) and his psychotic cronies are running the congressional lunatic asylum. THE REVOLUTION IS NIGH. TAKE BACK AMERICA THIS 4TH OF JULY!

bvp   June 11th, 2009 - 6:29 pm

Frank = petulant, asinine, ill informed, and downright dangerous to this economic security of this country… For the love of GOD, can someone explain how an absolute MORON like this gets elected??? Only in looney left havens like Boston and SF can somebody so confounding and infuriating get to a place of power.

finley   June 11th, 2009 - 6:35 pm

I am shocked that anyone at CNBC at the guts to stand up to this crook. He said solutions don’t have to be better than the status quo. That is amazing!! This is what the Democrats in the House think? It proves that they don’t care about the solution only their agendas.

SaveFrank'sArseholeFromSlavery   June 11th, 2009 - 6:37 pm

Will somebody please craft legislation to emancipate Barney Frank’s bunghole? Indentured servitude was outlawed long ago…

Ylem   June 11th, 2009 - 6:40 pm

“Solutions don’t have to be better than the status quo.” That is insane! If in my job I made decisions that ended up to be worse than what the company had in place do you think I’d have my job for long? No way.

Liberal thinking is ruining this country.

dianeremarx   June 11th, 2009 - 6:42 pm

Frank says, “solutions don’t have to be better than the status quo.” Doesn’t surprise me that Frank and other Democrats think this way. Look what they’re doing and rushing to do. They don’t care if it will be worse for us, they just want to act.

Frank blames the rich over and over again for the economic problems we have but takes no credit for it or for the amount of money he’s made since working in government. I guess it is ok for the Democrats to make as much money as possible but not for executives in the private sector. He blames all executives for a few because it serves the Obama administrations purpose of dividing this country by race and by income. Pit the poor against the rich–that’s Obama and the Dems montra.

Frank should point the finger right back at himself. He’s arrogant and the proof is in that interview.

“The vitupeous, homophobic, foul mouthed comments read here only heighten my understanding of the ignorance in the extreme right of the Rupugnant Party.” ————- I apologize for the immature and bigotted on this site (left and right) who think that insulting people for different points of view is acceptable. But please don’t assume that vitupeous, homophobic and foul mouthed people are only conservatives. If you do, that makes you one of them.

I am getting increasingly concerned over the total ignorance and incompetence of the US electorate who can vote in such absolute morons as Fwank, Pewosi, Weid, Bwogovitch, Wichardson, Cwintons, Bawack, and the rest of these wodeo cwowns.

Poor Barney…he would have gagged himself LIVE on camera…if he still had a gag reflex.

Barney frank is an ASS CLOWN!

Randi White   June 11th, 2009 - 11:20 pm

My brother forwarded me this video. I cannot believe the hate and utterly disgusting language in these postings. It is one thing to disagree with Representative Frank, that is your choice, but it only shows the ineptitude and ignorance that prevails, when you have nothing else to slander than his love preference. Do you honestly think the being Gay is a choice? Let it rest already, it is getting old. More than ever, we need a President like Obama now, who is honest and forthright. Did you ever hear that the eyes are the “windows to the soul.” Look in his eyes, and perhaps you will find your way.

Magyarfrau   June 12th, 2009 - 12:40 am

Barney Frank should be investigated for his role in this entire economic mess– he sat on the Senate Finance committee and knowingly allowed mismanagement and fraud to happen. He is a liar and a cheat– and an embarrassment to the US Senate. Apparently, weed must be just about legal in Mass– because they keep re-electing this blowhard. And to Mr. White– If I look into the eyes of Obama — I don’t like what I see– I see our country going down the tubes, I see a bitter man who is trying to wreak payback on anyone he thinks deserves it. I see a man who doesn’t love America but dislikes it intensely and is trying to mold it as fast as he can into a weak , socialist or worse yet ,dare I say Marxist state. I could care less if Barney Frank is gay or Obama is black — that is irrelevant to me– I don’t judge people by their skin or ethnicity or sexual orientation. I think most Americans don’t either. What I do object to is being lied to and having my country run by people who don’t even respect the Constitution, who don’t believe in our Freedoms and want to take as many away as they can. A man like Frank is profiting while others are losing their homes, pensions and the like. It is revolting.

Joe Schmoe   June 12th, 2009 - 1:13 am

Randi White, go away you douche.

Eugene   June 12th, 2009 - 1:40 am

I believe rep. Frank is one of many persons responsible for what’s going on but he was being interrupted and that ass clown commentator wouldn’t let him finish a question before asking another one. Barny Frank would have probably double talk his way through all the questions anyway.

william will tell   June 12th, 2009 - 1:52 am

I have been laughing uncontrollably at some of these comments. Much funnier then life in the former USA today

Rickster   June 12th, 2009 - 2:45 am

I’m not a big Barney Frank fan, but I don’t think he was being unreasonable here. Frank will honeslty answer a question if given a chance, and the interviewer interrupted him multiple times in less than 90 seconds. Let the man answer, for crying out loud.

PS: where are the thoughtful comments? Mostly thing I was used to hearing in junior high.

What a Jerk who appointed this guy to power. If this is how we want to be represented by government. time to move to mexico.
Impeach Barney!!!!!

Sunny   June 12th, 2009 - 9:42 am

Frank tried to deploy a frequent democrat trick, perfected by Obama – the strawman.

“It is better than doing nothing which is what you suggest…”
“The Republicans say ‘do nothing’…”
“I am waiting for an alternative…”

Buck   June 12th, 2009 - 12:53 pm

Barney Frank has a mind, something that has not been respected in this country since those in power decided to cut through the red tape of good government, good business principals, and just take the money. Don’t confuse me with the facts, power wins. Shareholders don’t count, unless stock options are involved. Better bring back some sanity to the “free market” or the little people should well stay away. Barney Frank’s personal circumstances has little to do with his logic and good sense. The above attacks are personal and reveal the lack of support that can be found in an opposite position. Wake up, we are all being sacked!

MikeW   June 12th, 2009 - 6:42 pm

Mark has my vote. It is long past time that the Mark Haines of this world, and the Rick Santellies, and the Lee Iacoccas, and the Ron Pauls and the Hugh Hewitts (and the list goes on, but not long enough) stood up to these nincompoops in our government. And hey Kevin, leave Canada out of this. This mess is our doing!
As the old beer commercial says, “What a travishamockry!”

TEAnCA   June 13th, 2009 - 12:28 am

CROOK!!!!!!!!!! Vote him out!!!!!

Happy Liberal   June 14th, 2009 - 1:55 am

probably will not get posted as this is a radical right wing terrorist web site. If you stupid people would listen and not make personal attacks you will see he was not allowed to speak or answer any question given to him. How exactly is that arrogant? Stupid Stupid People….go away your party is dead and the brain cells in Bushy head.

tony raimo   June 15th, 2009 - 11:16 am

Barney Frank is the quintessential “A..hole”, pardon the pun. He is nothing put a self serving arrogant, hypocritical, jerkoff that must be stopped and removed from office.

Ann of New Orleans, LA   June 15th, 2009 - 2:08 pm

WHAT? CNBC being nonpartisan?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MGT_cSi7Rs

Barney Frank, you and your ilk must think we are all stupid.

As for the people in Mass., I hope you have an interest in taking a role in fixing the mess you’ve helped create. Vote the rotten SOB out!

Assphincteris Conservative   June 15th, 2009 - 7:10 pm

I’m sure there were some really good points made in the 380+ comments above, but I couldn’t get past all of the comments about what Barney Frank had in his mouth, and how they wished it were their cock or their load.

What was the joke about the politician who got caught in a sex scandal with a woman? Oh yeah, it proved he was a Democrat.

So Barney Frank is openly gay. At least he’s not a hypocrite and liar like the guy’s on the other side of the aisle.

Touche!

- (And that is the french for score by touch, not where you want to accept your next homophobic, yet secretly homosexual comment to be deposited)

Jim Beasley   September 17th, 2009 - 3:07 pm

Man, this guy is just crazy. Who cares what his sexuality is his ideas are just bonkers. I hope we’re able to get him out of office soon. I think 2010 will be a perfect time to clean out our lawmakers on both sides!
