Top Chinese banker: ‘US should issue bonds in yuan, not $’ (UK Daily Telegraph)

The head of China’s second-largest bank has said the United States government should start issuing bonds in yuan, rather than dollars, in the latest indication of the increasing importance of the Chinese currency.

Guo Shuqing, the chairman of state-controlled China Construction Bank (CCB), also said he is exploring the possibility of issuing loans to trading companies in yuan, allowing Chinese and foreign companies to settle their bills in yuan rather than in dollars.

Mr Guo said the issuing of yuan bonds in Hong Kong and Shanghai would help to develop the debt markets in China and promote the yuan as a major international currency.

It was the first time the head of a major Chinese bank has called for the wider use of the yuan, although a chorus of senior government officials have already voiced their concerns about the stability of the dollar and have said the yuan should be used more widely.

“I think the US government and the World Bank can consider the issuing of renminbi bonds,” he said, asking for a “mutual cooperation” between the US and China to promote Chinese financial services. He said bond issuance could be relatively small, at between 1bn and 3bn yuan (£100m to £300m).

HSBC and Standard Chartered have both said they are preparing to issue bonds denominated in yuan.

The Japanese have a saying “The nail that sticks up gets hammered down”. This is an admonition to people to conform to social norms to avoid unwanted attention or problems.

Grassley is probably just saying to the Barry Barak Hussein Soetoro Obama (or what ever his real birth certificate says on it) administration that he is not going to be hammered down. Good for him.

Maybe he means a nail in a cofin ! Even better yet should there be a vampire inside with a stake through the heart.

America…the first Kenyan/Muslim President of our Christian nation, Bilderberg Bush-Obama…has just about bankrupted America with his radical/liberal policies and progams.

Now he is wanting to finish the job…of destroying America from within…by passing an “over the top” overhaul of our healthcare system!

America…we don’t need an OVERHAUL!

We need to slowly and systematically “TWEAK” our system because it does have flaws.

We have the very best healthcare in the world…and that is why…Bilderberg Bush-Obama wants to destroy it!

With this destruction he will have destroyed our financial base in our nation as Bilderberg wants and told him to do!

Fight it America…fight with everything in you against this “radical” Muslim in our White House!

Pray to our Christian GOD for wisdom, direction and strength to overcome this evil that is seeking to destroy our great nation!

Never, ever give up! Good always triumphs over evil…always! The truth always comes out and lies are always revealed for what they are.

The truth is coming out America, about Bilderberg Bush-Obama and his intentions for America are being revealed and they are not good!

Grassley’s racism is apparent in this over the top remark suggesting opposition to whatever a Black Man says. This is why the GOP is floundering: such racist remarks have no place in the new world order.

I haven’t followed Grassley, so I can’t comment on his “apparent racism”….except to say that I am heartily sick of Obama dissenters being generally labeled as “racist” – The man is the President of the United States of America – he could be purple with pink and blue polka dots and it would matter not one little bit! What IS important are the words that are coming out of his mouth, the policies he implements and the documents that he signs. Those things are vastly more REAL and more important.
