At least PM Brown’s misstatement was an accident. After listening to PrezBo, I can only say that I am ashamed by the speech he gave. At a time when one should be remembering the sacrifices of brave men from all around, Barry had to go and add in HIS link (grandma and grandpa) and then go on about how “all made mistakes”. My advice to the president is, “Get a new speech writer! You won the election it’s time to stop campaigning! However, I will say it again, if you really listened to his speech, PM Brown’s speech was outstanding, and much better than Obama’s speech which was ok.
I am sure that emotions were pretty thick with everyone at that ceremony at the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer. I have been to that cemetery and it is difficult not to get tears in your eyes just walking amongst the thousands of headstones, much less trying to offer a speech that touches so many emotions and in front of the old retired soldiers who returned and are sitting around you.
Everyone needs to let PM Brown’s slip go and get back to concentrating on what we are remembering occurred on 6/6/44. It was a day like none other in the course of the world. The American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer is very quiet when you visit it. When you walk through that cemetery everyone does so with great respect. That is the overwhelming feeling that is shared amongst complete strangers. Yet everyone comes to this place knowing that all of these headstones mark a sacred place of the remains of men who fought and died fighting to free the world of an oppressive regime and its twisted vision of of the future humanity.
There is no other time and place like what took place on the Normandy Beaches on June 6, 1944.
Let’s respect the memory of those who fought and died.

Buried at Colleville-sur-Mer are men of every walk of life. Being of similar ages it is certain that they had experienced the hardships of the Great Depression. Consequently, they had learned to be tough mentally or physically by the time they were thrown into a world war that the United States was not prepared for, nor did 90% of the US population want to get involved in, until Pearl Harbor happened on 12/7/41.
At Colleville-sur-Mer there are soldiers of every creed and color and political affiliation, and from every state of the United States. They were all previously blended together and became brothers during boot camps. Now they lie together.
We have not earned, and will never earn, the right to defile their memory.

For the person who earlier in the responses said that those who were making this political were ignoring the men who died during the invasion of Normandy…remember, those men fought in order to allow freedom to prosper…they fought so that those who were held for being something ‘other than what the Nazi government thought was appropriate…and died because of it…would have been (and probably were) embarrassed to have Obama telling the world that “we made mistakes” (i.e. America is bad and we should be sorry). Those men need not be sorry as they helped to free many persecuted men, women and children. Those of us in America who didn’t vote for the messiah (with a small ‘m’) are embarrassed that this man would even consider being apologetic for those men (and women) who helped to bring people out of bondage and death. For those of you who are gloating over how this man behaves, remember…you voted for him. When all is said and done, the man who has tripled the national debt (i.e. actually caused more debt than all of the previous presidents [including G.W.Bush] combined) has taken over corporations, is setting up a ‘czar’ to decide how much money corporations should earn/pay,…you all will begin to feel the negative effects of this presidency. Too bad the world has already begun to recognize what the Obamamaniacs haven’t…this man is either a poser or a puppet. He has no business running a country. You all will figure it out soon. When you do…I will be laughing and crying…because it will take the rest of us down with you and until you are circling the drain, you won’t recognize that you are in as much peril as the Conservatives who “told you so!”

Anytime anyone doesn’t agree with BHO-e they are called a racist. That term doesn’t even mean anything anymore it is used so much.
Actually it boils down to those who want something for nothing and those that work for a living. Things are only going to get worse. I think it is time to divide this country into two parts or even more if need be. There is no way people are going to get along. The country is too divided.

Griffin: With a Masters plus 32 I think I’ve taken enough college courses to ‘analyze’ this situation. I will admit that I haven’t read the entire book, but I have read excerpts. I doubt that what I have read could be considered as ‘taken out of context’ as I also listened to parts of it on tape. The context didn’t change the meaning of what I read.
Dr. Jay: you’re right. Reasoning with a liberal is like trying to reason with someone who is intoxicated. Their view of reality is skewed, thus anything that resembles a cogent thought to anyone else is an extreme – i.e. noting issues with President Obama’s book automatically makes me a racist. I don’t believe one race is better than another (i.e. the definition of racist, griffin). However, as a Reality/Cognitive-Behavioral therapist I know that behavior is formed by internal and external stimuli. If President Obama was surrounded by socialist/Marxist persons throughout his youth and educational career, then he is likely to be influenced to some degree by those persons (as he did note in his book.)
Dr. MPJ: I’m sorry that your view of conservatism is so skewed. Perhaps you are actually suffering from a case of transference.

Counselor42: If you honestly believe that Obama has “disdain” towards the Constitution, because that is what you read in his book, then you really did not get your money’s worth in grad school. Basic reading comprehension is taught in elementary school… Do you remember those tests at the end of the year? So you’re either an idiot that was pushed through the school system or you’re just a liar making false accusations about someone you don’t like. Either way, I encourage you to watch (or read) news outside of the Fauxnews network. Stick to ABC, NBC, CBS News… There is a reason why they’re well respected.
Griffin: Comprehension of the intent of a person’s behavior and belief system, in this case socialist/Marxist ideology, is disdain for a Constitution which supports freedom and liberty and a government that manages on the Federal level leaving the local and state levels alone. I can read; I had a 3.98 graduate GPA and I’m bright enough to recognize spin when I hear/read it. I watch all news to get a picture of where everyone is coming from. I just get saddened by the overt fawning over the demise of this country.
Counselor42: I’m assuming you’re against social programs as well. Because right-wingers tend to accuse democrats and liberals of loving social programs. But lets say we eliminate social programs… including welfare, unemployment benefits, health insurance, social security, minimum wage… what you have left is a 3rd world country. Right wingers do not understand this because these are the same people that do not travel to other countries. They are content in their little town working at the local Home Depot. Or they are rich and do not care about anyone that has less money than them. I, like most people who lean to the left, know there must be a balance. “Conservatives” seem to want to revert back to times when if you lost your job, you would starve or your children would have to work the coal mines. Is that what Conservatives want?? because that is the past. At what point in American history do conservatives prefer to live in? the 1950s? When people of certain races couldnt work certain jobs or even share water fountains. And women werent allowed to have equal paying jobs. So before you declare yourself a conservative right-winger, remember what that really means. All the benefits we as Americans enjoy today are due to left wing ideology.
Jack: Remember what they say about the word “assume.” Believe it or not, it is possible to be conservative and a licensed social worker. (I have both a social work and a counseling license). I work in a community mental health agency…trust me, I am well versed in government programs. My grandfather worked in the coal mines and my other grandfather worked iron – like many other Native Americans. I am not rich, but I worked my way out of being very, very poor. I know what it is like to live within the confines of government programs. I have NO desire to go back there, but I could sustain myself and my family if I needed to. You are correct that without some of these programs many would have problems, however, since social security is anything but secure, I don’t think I would use that to bolster my argument. I also can tell you that, as a former Medicaid auditor, a lot of fraud and waste happens there. Before the government starts talking about taking more of the people’s money and throwing it in the Medicaid/Medical program bucket, they need to plug the numerous leaks. If what I saw is any indication, a lot more people could be covered without increasing the funding. It truly is that bad. Please, tell me what government program you have witnessed that is run well? I’d really like to know of one. One other thing…I don’t know where you learned about conservatism, but I really haven’t met any knuckle dragging, children seen and not heard, women barefoot and pregnant conservatives…and I have met a lot of people. I have, however, met many people who have told me point blank that the government owes them a living, not because they served their country or worked hard, but because they breath oxygen and live in the United States. Most Social Workers won’t admit it, but there are unfortunately a larger number of these people out there than they report. It makes those who have worked hard very reticent about applying for any kind of benefits. “I don’t want people to think I’m like my neighbor”…or…”I don’t want people to think I’m like my relative.” It’s sad. It’s worse when the hard working person can’t get the benefits, but their neighbor who hasn’t done a decent day’s work in his life gets benefits right away. There really doesn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason to the process. Is that what you want to deal with on a daily basis?

He has privately referred to Michelle as Obama Bittch numerous times and that was what he meant. While conservatives seem to be looking for ways to attack Obama, he is summarily creating a Marxist country out of America. Those in congress will either find a way to stop this or we need to start referring to each other as comrade, don’t you think?

I saw the headline and almost blew a gasket. I watched the video and settled down. This was an innocent slip of the tongue and hopefully, it won’t turn into anti-Obama fodder, because there are so many other real and serious Obama problems to deal with, we don’t need this distraction.
