Nine months after GM’s 100th anniversary and expressed optimism by then CEO, Rick Waggoner, shares of GM fell to their lowest levels since the Great Depression on Friday, May 29, 2009.

TDC asks: Why mislead Americans with optimism while taking billions of dollars in bailout funds only to file bankruptcy? Isn’t this reminiscent of Enron and other companies that believably falsified their corporations’ books to create an illusion of financial strength and stability while leaving the stockholders holding the bag?

Time for a new non communist American auto company. Thanks for the last 35 years GM, but you’re dead to me now.

President-elect Barack Obama yesterday urged President Bush to support immediate aid for struggling automakers and back a new stimulus package, even as congressional Democrats began drafting legislation to give the Detroit automakers quick access to $25 billion by adding them to the Treasury Department’s $700 billion economic rescue program.

He implies these companies were facing a crisis decades in the making, and having relied on loans from the previous administration, were asking for more, but yet according to the Washington Post on Nov 11, 2008 Obama urged President Bush to support immediate aid for struggling automakers and back a new stimulus package. Bush’s fault and he is now according to him is the great savior. BS

All this wasted money just to have GM declare bankruptcy anyway.

This guy is opening a plant manufacturing car engines that will get 110mpg and produce 400hp! And, it’s not a hybrid.

He did it in his Ford Mustang, and will now be producing 25 engines a day under contract.
