Some even state that they hope all manner of ill will and health issues to befall on Rush Limbaugh and go on to confirm their hatred verbatim. There certainly is no comedy in this. My Mother had kidney failure in the early 1970’s and a transplant that has lasted for over three decades. She is now in hospice and most likely not last through Memorial Day. I can tell you from first had experience, kidney failure is no laughing matter if a loved one has gone through this.

How is Obama going to be good for the poor/middle class (regardless of their color or ethnicity)?

He is insuring that they will become a dependent class, forever beholden to government for handouts and benefits.

This is the antithesis of the American dream. Most of the wealthy in this country came up from modest means to make their fortunes. Many who benefited from inherited wealth (the Kennedy and Rockefeller clans for example) are liberals anyway.

The fact is we will never have equal outcomes, which is what you progressives are really all about. Every human is different. Only a few have the determination, ambition and relentless work ethic to achieve huge financial success. Most are happy to live with less as they have other priorities in life, but you must maintain that hope and opportunity for all to achieve financial success. When you take away that incentive, then all (except the liberal ruling class) will be doomed to a life of reduced economic expectations. This mentality does not really help the poor/middle class, it only punishes the wealthy. It is a revenge game.

When the liberals mention Rush Limbaugh and the fact that he said that he hoped Obama would fail what liberals and socialists fail to state is explicitly WHY Limbaugh made the statement. Limbaugh was very specific and it had to do with the implementation of socialism. Limbaugh wanted Obama to fail where it meant that socialism would be applied….and that was it. Nothing more.

The hateful liberals do not want to mention the word SOCIALISM!!! That is what Obama represents, Obama is a socialist.

Don’t believe me? How about the fact that Obama is going against the 5th Amendment to transfer the property of Chrysler’s bondholders and stock holders to the UAW. The site HotAir covered this very point last week when one of the lawyers decided to sue the Obama administration for appropriating the property.

Lauria and his allies claim that the Obama administration has violated the Constitution in their bid to devalue the senior creditors’ holdings on behalf of junior creditors, and have some precedent to support the allegation.

The heart of the argument starts on page 8 (via HA commenter Outlander):

III. The Taking of Collateral through a Direct or Indirect Use of TARP Authority is Unconstitutional.

The Treasury Department relies on TARP as the purported authority to justify the disparate treatment under the 363 Sale, even though TARP was enacted after the Senior Lenders’ liens on the Debtors’ property were already in place. The Supreme Court long ago recognized, however, that a secured creditor’s interest in specific property is protected in bankruptcy under the Fifth Amendment. Louisville Joint Stock Land Bank v. The statute in Radford provided that the bankrupt debtor could achieve a release of the security interests either (i) with the lender’s consent, purchasing the property at its then appraised value by making deferred payments for two to six years at statutorily-set interest rates; or (ii) by seeking from the bankruptcy court a stay of the proceedings for up to five years during which time the debtor could use the property by paying a rent set by the court, which payments would be for the benefit of all creditors, with a purchase option at the end of that period. Id. at 856-57.

14. Justice Brandeis noted that the “essence of a mortgage” is the right of the secured party “to insist upon full payment before giving up his security [i.e., the property pledged].” Radford, 295 U.S. at 580. In invalidating the statute, the Court stated that “[t]he bankruptcy power . . . is subject to the Fifth Amendment,” and that the pernicious aspect of this law was its “taking of substantive rights in specific property acquired by the bank prior to the act.” Id. at 589-90 (emphasis added). Thus, Congress could not pass a law that could be used to deny to secured creditors their rights to realize upon the specific property pledged to them or “the right to control meanwhile the property during the period of default.” Id. at 594. That is precisely what the Treasury Department would have Chrysler do here, with respect to the Chrysler Non-TARP Lenders’ property rights that were acquired prior to the enactment of TARP.

15. Relying on purported authority provided by TARP, the Treasury Department is demanding that Chrysler’s assets be stripped away from the coverage of the Senior Lenders’ liens – thereby impairing the rights of the Senior Lenders to realize upon those assets – so that those assets may be put in New Chrysler and used to the benefit of unsecured creditors in this proceeding, who will then be paid much more than the Senior Lenders. But, even assuming that TARP provides the Treasury Department with authority to provide funding to the Debtors and impose the transfer of collateral away from the Senior Lenders, TARP was enacted long after the Senior Lenders contracted with the Debtors and received senior liens on the Debtors’ property. Radford specifically disallowed the use of a law to retroactively alter existing liens on property.

16. Here, the proposed sale of the Debtors’ assets will leave the Senior Lenders with a diluted pool of assets and no further interests in the operating assets covered by their specific liens. The Constitution forbids this application of a law retroactively to undercut the Senior Lenders’ pre-existing property rights in favor or inferior creditors.

17. Finally, that the Treasury Department would take these unconstitutional actions to help the United States address difficult economic times is not an answer. Indeed, the same justification was expressly rejected in Radford, where Justice Brandeis noted that a statute which violated secured creditors’ rights, but which was passed for sound public purposes relating to the Great Depression, could not be saved because “the Fifth Amendment commands that, however great the nation’s need, private property shall not be thus taken even for a wholly public use without just compensation.” Id. at 602.

18. What is really striking here is that what is being proposed by the Sale Motion would strip the Collateral away and allow it to be put to use as new capital in New Chrysler for the benefit of existing and other creditors – even though the Chrysler Non-TARP Lenders have been given no opportunity to realize upon that Collateral to the point of full repayment ahead of at least $14 billion of selectively identified unsecured creditors.

He said, essentially, that if Obama is going to turn the U.S. into a Socialist state, he hopes Obama’s policies fail. He later went on to say, emphasizing that he doesn’t want Obama, the man, to fail: “He’s my president, he’s a human being, and his ideas and policies are what count for me.”

And if I lived in any of the countries that have healthcare models that Obama admires I would not be eligible for dialysis or transplant by the time my kids are in college. the bitterness and vitriol of wanda sykes and her ilk do not surprise, however, they do amaze. this comment is not based on any kind of racial animosity, it is based on simple fact. it is distastful for anyone to wish that another human being will experience kidney failure. it is even more distastful when you consider the source: a black woman. i live in a community almost 100% white. we have a dialysis clinic in our town and when i enter that clinic, every other face i see is black. kidney failure affects the black community in far greater numbers (percentage wise) than the white community and it just strikes me as tasteless (but not surprising) to hear sykes say such a thing!

George Bush is and was a humble man. Obama thinks the world counts on him and him alone to lead us. Bush went to church and prayed often. Obama puts out press releases about his supposed piety. The left sold a great bill of goods to the American people claiming that Bush, et al. were arrogant while insisting that Obama was a “man of the people.”

The 65th Anniversary of D-Day is fast approaching. Barack Obama will attend the events on June 6th as George Bush did in 2004 for the sixtieth memorial service. Here is the rub, as of now Obama’s State Department has asked (read demanded) the French government not allow tour guide services to operate that day. It is a big day for Normandy tourism. Yet, the king will not allow those not connected with government to enjoy the day. Obama is very important you know. This is an unprecedented request.

Compare that with 2004. Security was tight as President Bush and other world leaders were in attendance, but the event was still open to all. A friend relayed the story of waiting in line to use a port-a-potty (a French port-a-potty no doubt, yuck, believe me.) She looks to her left and who he is in the next line waiting patiently? President Bush. Sure he had Secret Service nearby, but he waited like everyone else.

Contrast that with Team Obama not even allowing regular people near Colleville-Sur-Mer that day. A shame indeed. Especially as the last of our WW II vets are expiring.

As the Bamsters unemployment rate pushes 10% (double the Bush average) and his 3.5 trillion dollar budget breaks the USA (the press of course focuses on his 17 billion in “savings.” Way to go 4th Estate.), Obama has more to worry about then denying people the right to attend a memorial service on June 6th.

It’s as if Obama has to let it be known that he is more important than honoring the events and the 9,387 mostly young Americans who died invading Normandy 65 years ago. Will Obama apologize for American actions during WW II at the event?

I think the following quote from Obama himself sums it all up: “a light will shine down from somewhere…. You will experience an epiphany. And you will say to yourself, ‘I have to vote for Barack.’”

The guy can’t even bring himself to say “shine down from heaven.” Do you really expect him to line up to use the can with the commoners at a Normandy celebration? Americans may start to miss the guy with the humility.

My daughter works for a dylasis center and I have visited some of the paitients while they are on the machines for as long a 4 to 6 hours and now a very ugly person who attempts comedy is making fun of a condition that would require, in some cases, days of dyalasis. McMillan, it’s nowhere near that simple. If you knew anyone with end-stage kidney failure, you’d know that. What actually happens is that you go on years of dialysis, 4 hours a day, 3 days a week, or whatever it takes in your case, in the *hope* that you can be matched with a compatible organ before you die.

Dialysis is hard on a person’s system and not as efficient as a functioning kidney. And if your kidneys are failing due to some other disease process, such as diabetes, the dialysis doesn’t cure that.

I would guess there are over 200,000 dialysis patients in the US today. (Lost my uncle and a co-worker to kidney failure as a complication of diabetes.) Wanda Sykes just dissed all of them with her shallow and mean attempt at a joke, and the President not only condoned it, he laughed.

While i’m sure not everyone put Rush’s comment into context of what he was saying, namely the implementation of socialist populous government institutions, it’s just sad to see Americans only listen to tid-bits of a person’s words (you’d think they’d learn with all the bad movies that their commercials take their reviews out of context). And even though Rush should have added one word (policies) to his little monologue about how he wanted president Obama to fail.

Since I was out today going to church, eating lunch and seeing Star Trek for Mothers Day, I did not see the original postings for any comments. However, after searching the web about the event, I can only conclude that President Obama is a very bad comedian, if he thinks making fun of the entirely understanable panic of several hundred New Yorkers is “funny.” And if the female “comic” thinks wishing someone who she does not agree with politicaly should have a “kidney disease,” then that is not funny. Or, at least, any reasonable human being would not think such a sick thing is “funny.”

Actually Limbaugh does a lot for this country, in particular our troops. A couple years ago he auctioned off a smear letter written by Sen. Harry Reid and raised 4.2 million dollars (2.1 million with own his money) and donated every penny to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation.
