It doesn’t matter what the speech was about, although an easy conclusion would be honoring MLK….remember him? The guy Bill and Hillary marched and became black with?…given by MLK very own son. He’s a former President, and MUST conduct himself with dignity. Though, as he never has before, I can presume he would have a tough time doing so.
As for Hillary knowing how to run a country? She cannot run her own marriage very well.

I do not know why everyone is concentrating on the fact that the speech was boring and poorly delivered. The fact of the matter is that this man was invited to a tribute for one of ourgreatest revolutionaries and was honored enough to sit in the pulpit of that church and showed blantant disrespect. Who cares is if MLK III is not a great speaker, just because he was the son of the great Martin Luther King does not guarantee that he would have the charisma.
I know this is getting a bit long winded but, I have one more point. As far as everyone trying to downgrade the accomplishments of MLK, I would like to say he achieved a feat that many presidents haven’t. This man dedicated his life and ultimately his life is what he had to pay for the freedom of black people. A people who for so many years were considered to be no more than property and who the consitution did not equate as a whole man.
And to not forget to all of the ignorant people out there who only believe that white is right. Black. The delivery style of a lot of black ministers is called hooping. Not broken English not ebonic(if such a thing exist.) Hooping is a part of the African culture. Slaves were able to conserve this small piece of many forgotten traditions. In laymens terms it is sing song delivery of the sermon.

Okay now just focus your attention on the speaker. This guy seems like he wrote a hurried essay on the meaning of MLK day and is now making a speech with added meaningless words. Who wouldn’t fall asleep at such uninspiring, dull speech?
I’m sure if it was an enlightening, powerful speech (such as that of MLK himself) Bill would summon up enough energy from his SUPER busy life and listen.

What matters is that a former leader of the free world showed-up to honor King. Crossing the racial divide, again, to do so. Class, and the value of unity, should’ve made that the storyline focus; especially on Martin Luther King’s holiday, and at a time of war. But as it was with King, evil and hate assasinates the good in a man; and then there are those who will drag out the corpse and use it as a public springboard for racism and division.

I have seen Bill dozens of times falling asleep during speeches, funerals, and the like. Not only have I seen this from bill, but yes from McCain as well. All politicians, especially the olderones, have done this from time to time.
I am Black and donot take offensive. Its obvious to me that he is trying his best to stay awake and given what his schedule must be like lately, quite frankly its understandable..although somewhat emabarrassing.

Report This Post Today the former President Bill Clinton, stood in the pulpit at Ebenezer Baptist Church during the 40th Annual Commemorative Celebration and called poor white rural Americans as “CRACKERSâ€!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was offended! I think all of white America should be as offended as any black person is when the “n†word is used. If anyone else had made this comment the media would have replayed it a thousand times and every newspaper in America would have printed a headline about the racial slur. It was really inappropriate, particularly from Dr. Warnock’s pulpit and especially during a celebration honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.!
As a native of Baltimore, I have to go with the key note speaker today and I DARE YOU, I D DOUBLE DARE you to stand up to racism and injustice everywhere – even at the White House.
As a Black woman….I am not offended by Clinton falling asleep. Sometimes you just can not help it when or where your body shuts down. If that is the case, those who fall asleep behind the wheel…are they blatantly doing so? No, no one chooses that. But when seated and you are overly tired, it does NOT matter where you are or how strongly you fight it. Your body will get its rest…even if it has to take it! I have fallen asleep in mid conversation and I am no narcoleptic. It just happens. We are human..get over it! Nobody died, nor did the world stop turning because of it. Yes, the celebration was for MLK, who wanted equal rights for ALL…not just Blacks. Really read the content of his, “I have a dream” speech and you will see that. So not only should Black people honor MLK…but any American who is not racist should as well. Granted I know we have some really mentally messed up people who believes things were better prior to MLK. Almost everybody knows the speech will contain the same elements that every other black speaker screams on every day that’s set aside for them: “fo’ hunnert years of slavery”; “we still gots a long way to go in dis country”; “they’s still injust..injus..injustibice.” Then they make some veiled allusion as to how it will all change if more money is thrown at them and if white folks will just bend over a littttle more.

Bill was simply dreaming of the “good old days” he spent in the White House with Monica and possibly others, and how much better it can be for him if Hillary gets elected (God forbid) and he gets to go back to the White House. He’ll keep Hillary so busy doing his bidding as president that she’ll have absolutely no time to keep her eyes on him as future Monica types have a field day keeping him occupied and very happy.

Every now and then our bodies will automatically shut down if they are tired. Jesus the Son of God fell asleep during a time his disciples ship was about to sink. If Jesus fell asleep what makes us think we want.

It makes you wonder about his sincerity (or lack thereof) towards the African-American people and the legacy of MLK. In my opinion, Bill’s attendance at this service was just another Clinton photo-op . If he was truly interested in what MLK Jr. was saying, he wouldn’t have kept nodding off and looking down at his watch.

Sure the speech was lackluster, but Bill Clinton should have shown more respect by being more attentive. Hell, he could have drank a Red Bull and grew some wings to survive those few minutes. I’m sure he knew before he arrived that he was dog tired.
