GM to Shut Many U.S. Plants Up to Nine Weeks

Two people briefed on the plan did not know exactly when the shutdowns would occur, but both say they will include the normal two-week closure in July to change from one model year to the next.

I knew this day would come……too bad…..GM makes good cars…..my 98 Buick would get 33 mph on long trips….sold it after 300,000 miles but it still runs…..Have a Lucearn now and it’s just as nice….no problems…..hope the people with foreign cars get laid off first

RIP GM.

In celebration of Earth Day, I got in my Suburban today and let it idle until OnStar called and asked if there was a problem.

I told her, “No. I’m just waiting for the end of the Mark Levin Show before I shut it off and go inside.”

Suburban/Avalanche: the best cars on the road today.

Kenny,
You speak like a union man. I also like GM vehicles….currently have an ‘08 Escalade ESV.
Had an ‘04 one before that. BUT…. if they are waiting on me to purchase another GM product, they can close for good! As far as I’m concerned, the UAW helped elect Obama. It takes real genius to vote someone into office who is going to raise taxes on your best customers!!!
No more UAW products for me. I’m going GALT!
