Texas Governor Backs Resolution Affirming State’s Sovereignty Under 10th Amendment
“I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state. That is why I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country to reaffirm the states’ rights affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I believe that returning to the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution and its essential 10th Amendment will free our state from undue regulations, and ultimately strengthen our Union.”

I have always wondered at the pairing of Lincoln and Obama. Yes, both are from Illinois and Lincoln’s freeing of the slaves (actually he never freed them in the north — but that is lost on most people).
What if this is a set up for Obama “saving” the union once more? We know many of his policies will cause deep rifts between states.
And what about one of the Obama slogans: “A more perfect union” — what the heck does that mean??
It is very funny how the knee jerk response on the street of “Bush was so bad! Obama is not as bad as Bush!” — is wearing thin. Are we still at war? yes. Is the war we are about to enter “winnable”? no. Has the patriot act been repealed? no — strengthened.
This could get very messy. But only the strength of truth will set us free. The liberal lies (from a stupidly orchestrated dog adoption to Obama telling us that his intention behind opening up Cuba is to spread freedom) will fail in weakness.
Yeah TEXAS!

The government won’t let this go un-punished.
These days the feds think the constitution is written on soft paper, hanging on a roll in the bathroom .

This country is at a cross roads. There are issues that were not solved by the civil rights act of 1964.
Most of stirring in the pot,has to do with the economy and election of Barack Hussein Obama.
RealClearPOlitics,an average of all the tracking polls, show the Presidents approval rating is 60.8
Homeland Security show a rise in recruitment among right wing hate groups.
Most of the victims of hate crimes lately are not Blacks but Hispanics.
We shall see in the months to come what will happen with the 40% or so that are unhappy with things as they are.Should be interesting.
Dave, TnApril 14th, 2009 - 10:33 am
Yeah but their measuring stick for what makes you a member of a right wing hate group is if you don’t believe everything the war profiteering, TARP bailout money receiving, government needs to mandate our green products GE news pmsnbc tells you is “true” LMAO The video was pretty choppy for me. Did he call DC, NY & LA the axis of evil? God Bless Texas!!!!
A reaction to nannystate. Understandable and worrisome. Observer is right, Texas is deeply concerned about where the federal government is going. If, even during Carter’s administration, you’d have suggested a socialist takeover of the banks and auto industry, you’d have been laughed out of the room. Texas isn’t laughing and certainly does not trust the federal government.
What is this all about you ask. It’s about conservative America saying ENOUGH, ENOUGH of massive government spending and bailouts, ENOUGH of government control of business and an all-out effort to destroy capitalism and free enterprise, ENOUGH of our government’s efforts to suppress our first amendment right to Free Speech, and our second amendment right to Bear Arms. ENOUGH of government’s rewarding of failure and punishing work ethic, accomplishment and wealth building, ENOUGH of TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION. Our legislators do not represent our will for our country and our lives and yet they want to tax us to higher and higher levels to fund their agenda with which we don’t agree. They are trying to turn our country into a welfare state where Americans no longer embrace hard work and take pride in personal achievement, but rather sit around and wait for government to make their lives happen in exchange for their vote, which is obviously an absurd delusion which leads to dependency, impoverishment, and an overall weakened and morally bankrupt nation. THIS IS NOT THE AMERICA OUR FOUNDING FATHERS ENVISIONED, NOT THE AMERICA TO WHICH MILLIONS OF PEOPLE IMMIGRATE YEARLY FOR A BETTER LIFE AND NOT THE AMERICA YOU AND I SHOULD ACCEPT LYING DOWN. WE MUST STAND AS A UNIFIED FORCE TO FIGHT FOR THE THINGS THAT MADE AMERICA GREAT: LIBERTY, FREEDOM, SELF-DETERMINATION, AND OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL, THESE GIFTS ENDOWED UPON US BY OUR CREATOR, OUR ALMIGHTY GOD.
Now stew in your own juices!April 14th, 2009 - 11:38 am
Here’s an idea. Give Texas and that moron ex-President back to Mexico.
Wait! The Mexicans don’t want them back? That figures!
Here’s another idea. Don’t send any Federal money down there regardless of the situation.
Hurricane smashes the coast? Sorry!
Tornados wipe out another trailer park? Too bad!
Farmers/ranchers can’t make ends meet? Awwww!
We know that you “independent” folks in Texas don’t like the Federal Government and government interference, so guess what? You aren’t going to get any!

How to take the country back 101 :
#1 suspend voting privilege of all welfare recipients.
get off welfare, privilege reinstated.
this would end society’s slugs from voting themselves raises.
#2 the right of the voting majority to recall any elected member of congress, regardless of the state that elected them. (ie: barney, nancy, chris, chuck and harry.)
I like your thinking. Allow people who directly benefit from their voting is really the sticking issue for most conservatives.
To consider welfare recipients as a voting block really should be a point of shame rather than pride for the democrats. Prurient self interest, plain and simple.
We do know that the entitlement crowd voted at 98% for this administration, but it is who endorsed Obama and the democrats that gave me deeper concern. Amongst those who support democrats we can count Osama Bin Laden, Fidel Castro, Barbara Streisand, the United Nations, Hugo Chavez to name a few. What is wrong with these endorsements be they tacit or otherwise?
As for the recall idea, not so crazy about that. I cannot figure just how or why some of those nuts on capitol hill get there. Truly, many of them are the shame of their respective states. Frank being a poster boy for it.
Still, what happens depends on a lot of things. Will the news media stop it’s fawning over the administration? Will the electorate figure out that big government has both hands in their pocket? Kind of doubtful, education being what it is, I sometimes wonder if the public have the critical thinking skills to cut through all the hype? Not encouraging, but that’s how it is.
We don't need no stinkin' Constitution!April 14th, 2009 - 1:56 pm
Conservatives love the Constitution except for that part about one-man-one-vote. We can’t have that, you know. Perhaps a poll tax or a few Jim Crow laws will help shift things your way and marginalize all those colored-type people. You sure aren’t going to win any elections soon otherwise!

AMERICA…ATTEND A TEA PARTY IN YOUR STATE TOMORROW…APRIL 15TH! FIND OUT WHERE AT:
America…can we ever trust another politician again?
Recently I posted a video regarding the secret society known as the Bilderberg Society. Made up of world leaders of countries, banks and financial institutions from around the world. Both the Bushes, the Clintons, Geithner, Kissinger, Obama and others are members…to name just a few.
Obama was hand picked to lead this country so that he can usher in the New World Order. Henry Kissinger, also a member, was the one who said it on that tape.
The Governor of Texas, Rick Perry, was in attendance at the meeting of the Bilderberg in Istanbul Turkey and here is what was said about him.
“Rick Perry is a new face in the 2007 meetings. He is the governor of Texas whose liaison office recognized that he was in the Istanbul meetings. Tucker believes that Bilderberg has considered him the practical president of America . Tucker said that if Perry participates in the next years
Bilderberg meetings he can be considered one of the most likely to enter the White House in the future.”
Read it yourself at:
1. Type in your search engine: Bilderberg Society
2. Then click on the article a little ways down titled ” The essence of the Bilderberg secret society: the hidden …
Here is an additional video posted on YouTube of a Dutch TV station talking about that meeting!
America…we must we aware of what is taking place here in America and around the world.
This group of individuals are seeking to destroy the world economy and take it over.
Saul Alinsky Obama is just the puppet of the real puppetmasters…the Bilderberg Society!
AMERICA…KNOWLEDGE IS POWER. GET THE POWER…READ UP ON WHAT IS TAKING PLACE!
AN INFORMED PEOPLE CANNOT BE DUPED…THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED IN THE LAST ELECTION.

The Texas Gov. is a well known opportunist and even the rethugs in Texas are preparing to dump him for Kay Bailey Hutchinson.
According to the news reports, right-wing radicals are becoming TERRORISTS and the government should treat them as such. No more Oklahoma bombings!

To “Whutwhutnut”, “Keep praying!” and other left wing socialist loving losers on the board: I feel sorry for your kind, I really do. Can’t see the trees for the forest. Your hate (really unfounded if you have half of a brain and an IQ higher than an ice cube)for President GW Bush has blinded your ilk so badly, you do not see the danger of the big eared one in charge. Your kind had better get your head out of the sand that is your collective b-utts and smell the coffee. Odamnit and his crew are leading us over the cliff.
A. AdamsApril 14th, 2009 - 4:09 pm
Texas will start the process, if the that “thing” (Washington DC) gets nasty about it, then Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky and finally South Carolina will follow. Last time around South Carolina was the first to stand up to DC. Oh well things are looking mighty good! The South has all the money and useful industry this time.
Now the shoe is on the other foot!April 14th, 2009 - 4:19 pm
Hey, da man, what about YOUR hate. The reason that a lot of people “hate” old “W” is because he got us into two wars (still fighting), a recession (still here), and stained the national honor by imprisoning people without charges, condoning torture, and running the most inefficient and incompetent government in memory (doing a hellava job).
Yup! There is a lot to hate there and it IS founded even for you Neocons without half a brain.
MikebarrApril 14th, 2009 - 4:27 pm
It was bad enough we sent Bush to the White House who embarressed this State in front of the world. Now we got an idiot Governor who wants to restart the Civil War. Next, he’ll probably want all Federal Troops out of Texas or he’ll open fire. Good Lord, run for the hills! Perry and his rag tag legislator Army are marching on Washington, D.C.. (Where’s ol Sam Houston when we really need him? Oh, that’s right we didn’t listen to him last time when he advised against a war with the Union.)
Somebody find a rope and a tree!April 14th, 2009 - 4:57 pm

Hey, shoe in your mouth:
W did not “get us in two wars” ALONE, brotha. Look it up. Congress backed him very well on that decision. Say and believe what you want, but it was the right thing at the right time. You liberal idiots vomit at the mouth about W did this , W did that. W was too worried about apeasing the libtards in Congress. But have there been any more attacks here on our soil since 9-11, hmmm? NO ONE could have forseen the mess that is Iraq & lingering in Avganistan. Your BOY, Odamnit sure wants to keep up the war there, doesn’t he? Bet that makes you and other libtards want to hurl. Ha.
Uhh . . .April 14th, 2009 - 7:04 pm
Several of us here have your back, Eileen. Post away. You are on track.
Speaking of being on track, Texas has their act together, in my honest opinion. They seem to have the backbone and strength to take care of themselves without the Feds dictating to them what they need and don’t need. I think we as a country needs Texas more than they need the country.

Governor Perry’s statement sounded very familiar:
“The unwelcomed, unwanted, unwarranted and force-induced intrusion upon the campus of the University of Alabama today of the might of the Central Government offers frightful example of the oppression of the rights, privileges and sovereignty of this State by officers of the Federal Government. This intrusion results solely from force, or threat of force, undignified by any reasonable application of the principle of law, reason and justice.
The Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States reads as follows:
‘The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.’
This amendment sustains the right of self-government and grants the State of Alabama the right to enforce its laws and regulate its internal affairs.
This nation was never meant to be a unit of one. . . . . . . but a united [sic] of the many . . . . . this is the exact reason our freedom loving forefathers established the states, so as to divide the rights and powers among the states, insuring that no central power could gain master government control.”
Gov. George C. Wallace, June 11, 1963
In the School House Door at the University of Alabama attempting to prevent two black students from enrolling in the all-white university.
As for Sam Houston, Governor Perry’s hero – Sam Houston – disavowed Texas’ exercise of its states’ rights to seceded from the Union, and gave up his office rather than take an oath of allegiance to the Confederacy.
In addition to George W. Bush, Kay Baily Hutchison, and John Cornyn, Rick Perry is one more reason I am embarrased about being a Texan these days, but things are beginning to look up – a gubanatorial election is coming soon.
Besides, Gov. Perry and those other idiots in the room forgot about Article I, Section 8:
“The Congress shall have Power – To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.”

Just thinking out loud, but I’m guessing many, fed up with the feds, may make Texas home.
Might make a nice juxtaposition to all the states in the tank with the feds. If it works out well, who knows, maybe others will exercise their 10th amendment rights.
From the Texan’s perspective, they already fought and won freedom from Mexico a long while ago. Lately the feds, while charging obscene taxes have turned the boarder into a sieve.
This may even have benefits for the rest of country. If Texas takes up it’s own boarder patrol and oversight, we may actually see a lessening of illegal immigrants.

To Whatwhatwhat, my god can you get any more stupid? According to the worthless Homeland Secruity, & Janet Napolotano, so called “right wing extremist” are perpertrated as “terrorist” and enemy of the state. Folks, this is plain old insanity and this is an attempt to steal and rob all of our freedoms and make us become slaves to the state. People such as whatwhatwhat don’t deserve a country, don’t deserve real freedoms, don’t deserve to vote in any future elections, etc. People like whatwhatwhat sure as hell deserve to be a slave to the government.
And if homeland security and Janet Napolotano keep this up, then we the American people are gonna slap a “class-action” lawsuit on Janet Napolotano, the federal government and take the case to the supreme court (afterall, the supreme court is STILL 5-4 in favor of conservatives). Janet Napolotano should be FIRED immediately, no ifs ands or buts about it!

I have just returned from the noon tea party at my state capitol. It was full of those crazy, fanatical extremists who are seeking to take America down and their rebellion was evident.
I saw fanatical women pushing strollers with actual babies in them, I saw moms and dads hand in hand with their children, I saw older Americans hand in hand holding signs. There were some pushing wheelchair bound citizens…it was outrageous!
Some one needs to call the Democratzi Warden Napolitano and tell her what is going on in America today.
I saw police just standing by doing nothing while these right wing fanatics held signs, and clapped and yelled and supported the speakers on the platform.
They actually prayed for our government and sang the National Anthem…it was outrageous!
Someone needs to do something with these subversives.
NOOOOOOOOOOOT!
America…what a proud day for America. Citizens united from all parties, all ages, and all beliefs…uniting together against the outrageous spending being done in Washington by Saul Alinsky Obama and his Democratzi and Republican Henchmen.
