I believe President Obama is going to be one of the greatest, if not greatest President’s we have ever had. He is brilliant, he is kind, he is classy, he works non-stop for the benefit of all, he is respectful, he is an excellent diplomat, look at what he has accomplished since he has been in office—-he is amazing especially with the horrible problems he has to deal with. Handling the Pirate situation is just another example of what a great leader he is. and oh yeah, a great husband and father and example for the rest of us.

Put the crackpipe down, Michelle..go pet your damned dog, and practice bowing to people..ignore terrorist pirates, flood victims, freezing victims, tornado victims, anything like that.but make sure to fly in pizza chefs from Chicago, and makeup artist to paint your ugly face, and dont forget to bring odumbos brother in from UK to “babysit” the girls..

American Liberal   April 13th, 2009 - 11:24 am

That be it instead of is. I’m sorry, thinking about President Bush and all the trouble he caused made me miss this.

American Liberal   April 13th, 2009 - 11:30 am

Julie S has is right. There has never been a greater President than Obama. He has done so much for us already. He makes my feet tingle and my hair stand up on edge every time I hear him talk.
He is a great man and more Christ like (if there was such a person) than anyone should be. He will save us from this situation and I hope he stays in office for twenty years.

Monica   April 13th, 2009 - 11:32 am

No…. Enough of America being in the forefront. Let other countries take care of their own. I’m tired of being the only ones who do anything. Arm our ships, let those other countries do what they need, oh yeah, they won’t do anything, because they don’t have the balls to do anything. Maybe if they fired on them, these so called pirates would think twice about harassing them.

ChrisK   April 13th, 2009 - 11:39 am

“”"”"”look at what he has accomplished since he has been in office”"”"”"

LOL
He’s spent more than all the other presidents combined in the short time he’s been in office, signed one of the most expensive bills in American history, without ANYONE HAVING TIME TO READ IT!….

All the pet spending projects liberal lifers in Congress have been wishing for, they got now. It’s like they won the lottery (someone elses lottery that is) and are going on this huge spending spree without a care in the world.

The media and the sheeple that follow apparently don’t mind bankrupting the country and selling us out to China.

THAT’S some really great accomplishments if you don’t mind passing the bill to your grandkids. They’ll be so proud.

American Conservative   April 13th, 2009 - 12:03 pm

The sad part, ChrisK, is that Obama has already done more good in a few months than Mr. Bush did in eight years. And he didn’t start a stupid war to do it, either!

Monica   April 13th, 2009 - 12:33 pm

American Conservative: Bush kept us safe over those last eight years. It didn’t take those Somali’s long to take advantage of the power change…. What did Obama get from the G20 summit? NOTHING, Russia, phhhfffttt! Think they give a rip about what Obama wants? Do you think Russia will actually help Obama in his requests? How about France? England? Though I don’t blame England for not jumping in to help. You are right about Obama doing more in a few months, but I certainly wouldn’t say it is good, piling on the trillions and trillions of debt, which of course our kids and grandkids will probably spend their life paying off. Is that what you consider good? What an idiot. You might want to change your name. You’re no conservative.

Larse   April 13th, 2009 - 12:52 pm

Actually, Obama has been mostly working on fixing Bush’s mistakes. Sadly, a great task for even a great president… However, this piracy thing might be one of the first major accomplishments of the new administration and congress. They spent all Easter weekend on this and I don’t think they are going to let it go… They will make an ‘example’ out of the pirates ;)

It will be interesting though since this administration does not seem to like to play the political grandstanding game. No landing on the good ship ‘mission accomplished’ this time… They seem to be in the just solve it and go onward mode…

Other   April 13th, 2009 - 1:23 pm

Can anyone point where Obamas current positions on Iraq and Afghanistan are different from GWB’s?

“Larse April 13th, 2009 – 12:52 pm

Like what has he done for what mistake? If you read deeper into this pirate issue, it was the local commander who made the decision to attack the pirates. Obama sent a negotiator.

“They seem to be in the just solve it and go onward mode…”

How? He just restated GWB military policy last week.

Cognitive Dissident   April 13th, 2009 - 1:31 pm

Sorry crew, but America has its hands full with Iraq and Afganistan. Yesterday we saw the US Navy take care of a pirate situation involving an American boat & crew. But don’t expect us to be a global ocean police force.

On Obama’s world tour the other week, we saw countries accross Europe fail to step up to join the US in our common fight against terrorist in Afganistan. Perhaps if other nations joined us there, we can extend the cooperation to places where piracy looms a la Somalia. Until then, individual nations should take care of their own interests on the high seas… AND NOT look to the US to foot the bill.

LiberalsAreParasites   April 13th, 2009 - 1:50 pm

You people gushing over obozo make me laugh. What did this idiot do. Gave the OK to blow away scum. That’s his job, to protect the people of the USA. He finally does his job and you people have an orgasm. Give me a friggin break. You idiots beleive he’s going to cut the deficit. But what you morons don’t realize, is that he’s going to triple it first, then try to cut it in half.
obozo didn’t do sh!t.
God Bless our Military.

Captain Richard Phillips of the Maersk ALABAMA
was freed from the hands of evil by the joint effort of his own courage and boldness and the swift and decided action of the American Navy Seals!

Obama DID NOTHING but speak 5 days late about this Somali Pirate issue!

Obama late to the party and not required!

Captain Richard Phillips of the Maersk ALABAMA

Guys, you know back in Theodore Roosevelt’s presidency he sent the “Great White Fleet” of the USA on a tour across the globe, so that pirates, and petty-dictators would fear to attack us. The US Navy was created in the early 1800s to combat the “Barbary pirates” that were attacking our merchant ships from N-Africa. These were “Muslim-pirates” just as the pirates who attacked our vessles last week in Somalia.

I’ll give out the link regarding the history of the “Barbary Wars” so you folks (both conservative & liberal alike) can read and comprehend:

This just in, the crew of the ALabama and it’s captain have just put on a terror watch list. Along with Bush’s dog Millie and Glenn Beck.

I never voted for the celebrity and won’t next time either.
