‘Inside the Rescue’: Navy Snipers Strike as Captain Faced ‘Imminent Danger’

AP: It was a stunning ending to an Indian Ocean odyssey that began when 53-year-old freighter Capt. Richard Phillips was taken hostage Wednesday by pirates who tried to hijack the U.S.-flagged Maersk Alabama. The Vermont native was held on a tiny lifeboat that began drifting precariously toward Somalia's anarchic, gun-plagued shores.

All of the mouth-breathers… the naysayers… all of those who decried that the President was “owned” by the pirates…

ALL of the dittoheads claiming that this was “Obamas’ Katrina”… & complaining that he was ((((gasp)))) eating PIZZA during this crisis..

ALL of the “Saturday Evening Quarterbacks” who thought the best way to handle the situation was to “b.l.o.w them ALL out of the water” (INCLUDING the HOSTAGE) just to show them “who’s BOSS”..

ALL of you bitter children who STILL aren’t willing to admit that your were WRONG (as if a neoconservative was even CAPABLE of doing so)…

ALL of you LOSERS who are gnashing your teeth down to the NUBS today at this news…

THIS is how it’s DONE.

An operation done RIGHT in EVERY respect.

Perfect.

NONE of the shallow PR bluster that would have accompanied the “Codpiece Commander”…

NONE of the bumper-sticker rhetoric that DID accompany the right-wing demagoguery…. & is STILL being perpetuated by their mindless DRONES here on this thread…

Just quiet.. professional, well planned, focused RESOLVE.

LEADERSHIP….

..& it’s NICE to have it back after so long, isn’t it?

And the Far Right Rethuglican’t Hypocrisy Comedy Parade Continues………

I guess now we will bring the one remaing pirate to the US,the ACLU will defend him,and when we put him in reform school(he’s only 16,poor child)
we will supply him with special meals, foot bath, pray rug and a copy of the Quran.
At 21 he will go free, get a welfare check, government housing and register to vote, while building a bomb in his basement.
Or we could just hang him from the yardarm.

President Obama personally gave the go-ahead for the military action, and talked to Phillips after his rescue. “I share the country’s admiration for the bravery of Capt. Phillips and his selfless concern for his crew,” he said. “His courage is a model for all Americans.”

Obama added that he is “resolved to halt the rise of piracy in this region.”

Can,t believe this came from the New York Post. You know the one owned by Murdoch, who also owns Faux news.
Can,t wait to see how Sean Insanity and the rest of the right wingers put their spin on this.

So obozo finally does his job and we’re suppose to praise him and say what a great guy he is. He’s job is to protect the citizens of the USA. Personally I didn’t think he would have the guts to say go ahead and kill one of my brother muslims.

President Obama personally gave the go-ahead for the military action,”

He didn’t and he is on record ordering the captains to continue to use the current maritime law as their guide. He didn’t authorize or proscribe use of force. He abstained.

But he did send a negotiator.
