What ever happened with “We do not negotiate with terrorists”????? My God, get it over with already, attempt a rescue using SEALS and move on with it. Just make sure every one of those pirates dies.

2 words to deal with the pirates KILL THEM

Retired U.S. Ambassador Robert Oakley, who was special envoy to Somalia in the 1990s, said U.S. special operations forces have drawn up detailed plans to attack piracy groups where they live on land, but are awaiting orders from the OBAMA national security team.

“Our special operations people have been itching to clean them up. So far, no one has let them,” Oakley told the Daily News.

The veteran diplomat, who also was ambassador to Pakistan, said teams of Army Delta Force or Navy SEALs “could take care of the pirates in 72 hours” if given the order to strike.

“They have plans on the table but are waiting for the green light,” Oakley said.

Relax Jimmy Carter will be there soon to protect the safety and interests of those poor misunderstood “Seagoing Liberators”. The use of the word Pirates will be banned by Obama.

Obama Reaches Out to ‘Moderate’ Pirate Community

http://exurbanleague.com/2009/04/09/obama-issues-statement-on-the-pirate-attack.aspx

Some of us wonder if our current Overseas Contingency Operation would even be needed had the last administration not been so quick to label Pirates as “thieves,” “terrorists” and worse. Such swashbucklaphobia can lead to tragic results, as we have seen this week.

There are plenty of somalis in the United States right now, bringing crime and disease to your community.

Perhaps we should start taking this piracy nonsense out on them.

One can only wonder what the capt. was thinking when he jumped overboard. Was he thinking “Give me liberty or give me death” as the famous patriot Patrick Henry once advocated,or was he thinking let me see if I can pull off an escape bluff.Had he committed to the ideals of Mr.Henry two scenarios could have occurred.1)he would have continued swimming to the U.S. ship been rescued and the pirates killed and the rest of the Somali pirates learned that when they see a U.S.flag on a ship they should avoid said ship at all cost and maybe pick a french one instead or 2)been killed by his captors his captors then killed by the U.S. navy thus making the voyages of future U.S.ships that much safer. To be a true hero one must be willing to sacrifice ones life for the greater good.

Democrat John Kerry has the ultimate threat to the pirates – he says if they don’t release them he will HOLD CONGRESSIONAL HEARINGS.
If that doesn’t scare them nothing will. LOL

I cannot beleive that our navy was asleep at the wheel on this one! they had the perfect opportunity, and blew it! there should have been a few of our guys posting watch at all times, taking turns to avoid fatigue. There were two guys that went outside the cover of the boat that could have been taken out, had we not been so far away! (mistake #2)
there had to be at least 20 seconds, if not more from the time the shots were fired, and the captain turning around and swimming back to the boat!
It’s events like this that the other country’s are watching and paying attention to. We are so unpreppared to battle, it’s a shame. we have a bunch of tree hugging, pencil pushing, limp wrists running our country. if it dosent change, our freedom will be lost!

Lost opportunity: warn pirates of what happens to them if they attempt to aim/fire upon a US citizen, tell captain to jump over/swim away, again. Shoot pirate if they attempt to get him back, as soon as they start to aim at the captain. Or just blow the ….boat out of the water. No negotiations with terrorists. By not taking immediate action, they have endangered all Americans around the world. Terrorists, etc. know that this US Govt. will not uphold their oath of office to protect and defend the US, and it’s citizens world wide. Now they are waiting for more pirate boats/hostages, will not fire, and the captain ends up in Somalia…somewhere. Is it any wonder why Jack Bauer could run and beat Oboma in the next election.

Many MANY things too say….. But best to be “very quiet right now’… Poor pirates… Did that hurt?! :D

Bye bye…
