Obama Makes Unannounced Stop in Baghdad

MSNBC: On a trip shrouded in secrecy, President Barack Obama flew into Iraq on Tuesday for a brief look at a war he opposed as a candidate and now vows to end as commander in chief. Obama flew into the country hours after a car bomb exploded in a Shiite neighborhood of the capital city, a deadly reminder of the violence that has claimed the lives at least 4,266 members of the U.S. military since March 2003.

Dateline: Baghdad, Iraq

Since he learned how to speak “Austrian” earlier, he took a quick Berlitz course to brush up on his Iraqi before making this trip. I bet the troops were thrilled to meet this Che Guevara wannabe.

Well he bashed America over seas, why not stop by Iraq and bash the troops while he’s at it.

Let’s hope the suicide bombers do their job.

You can always tell when the President gets the goat of you right-wingers. You start squealing like pigs. Those photos show a Commander in Chief that is truly loved by his troops.

Keep up the good work!   April 7th, 2009 - 12:40 pm

Amazing! The troops that Mr. Obama is bashing sure seem to be enjoying it!

Senator Klit Torris   April 7th, 2009 - 12:53 pm

Whatwhatthephuck,
Yeah, the same troops that voted 70% for McCain. Take your head out of your a$$ for just a minute Whataphuckup, and let it breathe and get some fresh air for a change.

Whatwhatwhat   April 7th, 2009 - 1:35 pm

Lies!!! There’s no evidence troops voted 70% for McCain YOU FRAUD. You’re talking about an October 2008 poll that came from one newspaper polling its military members.

What isn’t in dispute is the fact that deployed troops donated to Obama’s campaign by a 6 to 1 margin over McCain. That fact IS documented.

Whatwhatthephuck,
Yeah, the same troops that voted 70% for McCain.

… haha so what. That means 30% voted for Obama. Considering that Obama has been vocally in opposition of these troops’ mission… 30% is a pretty big number! And I bet those are the troops that have seen the real hell there enough to ask themselves: “Was this really such a good idea??!!”

Steve F   April 7th, 2009 - 1:51 pm

Cog Dis! THAT 30 percent are about the same numbers of Blacks in the military,,,sounds like racism to me. I live near a Navy base and rent to 25 Navy folks they ALL (very candidly) say Obama is a joke…but unlike their Commander & Chief they DO NOT run down the US or the current FOOL at the top!

Cognitive Dissident   April 7th, 2009 - 2:04 pm

Steve F- Wow, for a supposedly “pro military” guy you sure are disrespectful to our commander-in-chief.

I, for one, would not disrespect our brave men and women in uniform by suggesting that they are racists.

Racism in the military? If you want to consider that topic, please read this:

Whatwhatwhat-

I believe you. Our troops are on the front lines there. They know and understand what was right and what was b—s— there in Iraq… and THATS why they gave to Obama’s campaign over McCains by 6-to-1!!!

duncan   April 7th, 2009 - 3:36 pm

IMHO Too much hugging.

Senaror Klit Torris   April 7th, 2009 - 4:47 pm

WhatAH0m0 and Ignorant Dissident,
You two are laughable beyond consideration. Keep fudging numbers to make your irrational points. Certrainly all the troops would like to home, but they overwhelmingly don’t wish to stop until their job is done. If you two were any more ridiculuous, my cat would laugh. You are both androgynous freaks of nature.

Whatwhatwhat   April 7th, 2009 - 6:09 pm

The only thing that is ridiculous is the rethug party but it seems to be doing a good job of self-destructing so carry on.
