If the government has to bail out an industry of that size the CEO SHOULD be fired! The board of directors should probably be thrown out too!

This could be the start of the last two months for GM. BO says GM is “no longer viable as a stand-alone company.” If Congress saves GM and dictates what products GM will build, and nobody buys their Flintstone-mobiles, GM will fold.

GM and Toyota sold the same number of vehicle in 2007. Toyota was making $2k profit per vehicle and GM was losing $4k per vehicle.

Is the federal government experts at running the auto industry – absolutely not. Is government great at mismanagement and wasting money – yes.
