Los Angeles likes a UK Footbol star more than their elected hispanic Mayor.

Hi-larious.

I’m from LA, and this mayor sucks, which is why so many people booed. We love our soccer, however.

I hate to ask an obvious question but then why was he elected? Was he really the lesser of the two evils when at the time?

I live in Washington State and that’s how I feel about our last choices for Governor. We had to settle.

However, we have no fotobol or pro Hockey here so we are kinda in the dark sports-wise.

The Mayor of Los Angeles was actually booed? What a pity! Then again, from what I have heard about this guy, he pledges allegiance to Mexico rather than Los Estados Unidos. Or am I exaggerating?

LOL. Any day that Antonio Villar the ex-gang memeber gets booed is a good day for me!

jim   July 13th, 2007 - 4:54 pm

Again I ask, then why was he elected? Was GW Bush also running for Mayor? Or perhaps it was Oprah? Or maybe it was a blind donkey…

Jim:

No, he wasn’t the lesser of two evils. He won because a) he ran for mayor against a human tree stump, and b) turnout was dismal because no one is eligible to vote in L.A. if you catch my drift. Los Angeles is the banana republic the rest of America has to look forward to. It has its perks if you’ve got the money and/or power.

When you have a “Mayor” that has two kids out of wed-lock and a new Mexican TV reporter (and he is still married) what would you excoect? Through in his racist ways. Not hard to figure out. Good luck LA your gonna need it with your present “Mayor”.

jim   July 13th, 2007 - 5:22 pm

w0w, and I thought we had it bad. I do feel sorry for you guys.

The boo’ing is even more noteworthy when you consider that today is a workday, so the people at the stadium were people who either weren’t working or could get away from work easily. And stereotypically that’s the non-working poor (Black & Hispanic, although you’d think the Hispanic would be the more motivated of these two…) and the elitist rich, both of whom supposedly supported VivaLaRaza in his mayoral bid. It’s not often that you get to see the chickens coming home to roost and it’s fun to watch. I wish the Mayor a speedy descent into mediocrity and obscurity.

In fairness to the guy, he is known to root for the opposing team, something called Chivas. And he is pretty politically mainstream these days; his radical days were in his youth. As for the affair, he’s not the first to stray from a sterile marriage.
Look at Giuliani, Clinton, Richardson, Gingrich… But his core working-class Hispanic base is very, very conservative, you’re their saint or are evil.

Wow! I seriously can`t believe he got boo`ed that must have sucked extremely. I live in the OC, so like I wouldn`t know if he were a good mayor or not, but gosh his people sure do not support him you can totally tell that by the amount of people that booed him, but what a professional he just smiles. =]

Its like, [The mayor of the great city of Los Angeles, Antonio....BOO BOO BOO BOO BOO]
gosh it could have been halloween all those boo`s. =] lol!
