Wow…and we care because…? As far as Im concerned, those are the chances you take going into a terrorist state on your own will.

The troops are a different story and on government orders…as for her, shes out there trying to make a name for herself in a place she doesnt belong, especially being a western woman. Whil I hope she doesnt get killed or beheaded, a few lashes might help her to understand the ramifications of going against the state departments recommendations.

I guess they dont teach you common sense in North Dakota.

It has been revealed today that a young Persian-Japanese-American “progressive Muslim”, feminist, pacifist, intifada-jihad-supporting, Israel-hating, freelance and sometime-NPR-affiliated reporter from Fargo has been held in captivity in some Iranian dungeon for a while now, on the pretext that she once bought a bottle of wine.

In going to Iran (and Lebanon, etc.), and reporting on Iranian intelligence operations in Iraq, women’s rights in Tajikistan, Hezzbollah intimidation of Christians in Lebanon, and so on, was she very brave, or very naive?

As a Muslim and an Iranian citizen, I expect she’s being treated no worse than all the other detainees there. And considering her good looks, my guess is all those typical Iranian police men and women already fought over who gets to rape her first.

Oh, why can’t Obama, with his soaring oratory and his mystical charisma, do something to help his Muslim sister? I heard the whole world loves him.

Mike…wait ’til they come for -you-.

OK: Why are people automatically assuming she is a “spy” or getting into stuff, just because the Iranian government accuses her of it? Their word’s about as good as $7 dollar bill.

For all we know she was visiting relatives or just went to visit the “old country” and gut picked as an example for the gov’t to go after, scapegoat, and show how tough they are by attacking a woman (Usual course for little cocksmokers like they have running that country.)

Anyway, maybe we care about people in those places so that this place doesn’t end up like them, and because human beings are human beings. The Iranian people get put down by their own government and they deserve a lot better.

Iranians have campaigned for democracy and more freedoms, and the state has thrown people off ballots, jailed people, slandered people and a lot worse.

You can’t joke about the possibility of torture in proson ether, this is Iran we are talking about here.

She had a lot of guts to go there even if just for a visit. As Americans we shouldn’t have an “Oh well” attitude. After all, as they say… first they came for one, then the other, then when they come for you.. who will be left to say anything?

We ought to say and do some stuff for her. Because on day it could be us and it could be here. And because anyone in the world deserves human rights and a fair shake not to have terror states kicking them around.

Hans…come for me? who? she went into Iran.

If youre speaking of Iranians coming on American Soil and attempting to take me, I welcome it. Nothing more Id like to have than some dead terrorists to fertilize my garden and a few of their heads on a stake to emphasize my stand on islamofacism.

I know this must be hard for you to understand Hans, being a euro-weenie and all, but over here, it wont happen nationwide.

Contrary to what our shitstain media reports, we have balls and will squash any such attempts.

I hope her career is worth it

Gandhi's Fist   March 3rd, 2009 - 2:35 pm

I suspect she’s getting a whole new perspective on the religion of “peace.” The Iranians tolerance and enlightenment are well documented. Hope she’s able to tell us about it when they release her in her 50s (if at all).

First of all they raise North Dakotans with a lot of common sense. Second, she is an American living and working in another county. There are reporters all over the world that do this not because they don’t love their home but because they want to let the world know what is happening in countries such as Iran that limit peoples rights and oppress their own citizens.
Those of you who love the US should love people like Roxanna. Weather we like it or not we are not an isolationist country. If we were we wouldn’t have troops all over the world. People like Roxanna let the outside world know what is happening in rat holes like Iran. If we lived in a country that didn’t give a crap about the rest of the world it wouldn’t matter but when we are constantly butting heads with Iran and it’s crazy leader I am glad to know that there are AMERICANS willing to tell me what is happening on the streets of that country.
