The CNBC editor knows of what he speaks, it’s the White House that is in the dark.
Hey, administration, get a clue.

Spokesman is a creep   February 20th, 2009 - 3:10 pm

Hey White house Quit with the overt threats to broadcasters and radio hosts who don’t agree with you.You white house people have a responsibility to keep this a republic-John Tyler said a democracy always is followed by a dictatorship once the democracy votes themselves the treasury-revolution is in the air i say, and its coming from the RIGHT

di butler   February 20th, 2009 - 3:19 pm

Hey, they don’t know Santelli’s address, yet. I am sure they will soon enough. And they will be doing anal cavity searches on him asap. 6,000 people had signed on and thanked Mr. Santelli last night. But Robbie, baby, you have got to give it a rest with the 5 min non-answers, ok? And we thought Scott McClellan sucked. Gibbs, I would say fire you, but your ineptness is often fodder for comedy gold.

Eileen for Freedom/Libery   February 20th, 2009 - 3:19 pm

Thank goodness for Santelli…he is the only MSM person that speaks out what all of us here in the heartland have to say.

We jumped for joy to hear him express “OUR” feelings about what is happening.

God Bless You…Santelli and all those on the floor who spoke up for us…the American taxpayer…keep doing it…we are!

And we’re going to do this by “investing in Freddie and Fannie”? Are you f***ing kidding me? How dumb are these people? Oh wait, they’re Democrats ….’nuff said.

Marine   February 20th, 2009 - 3:21 pm

What a p iss-poor analogy! Of course I’m going to help my neighbor if their house is on fire but if my neighbor over buys, defaults on his loan and goes into foreclosure, spraying a hose on it won’t do any good…….hello? Is anyone listening to this horse manure? Listen carefully: IT’S NOT OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO BAIL OUT A CARELESS HOMEBUYER!!!!! It is true that foreclosures in the neighborhood are going to bring down proerty values but give the system a chance, let the foreclosure process run its course and after all of the subprime crap is flushed out, things WILL pick back up. Why do we want to give MORE money to Fannie and Freddie? Why? Why? Why? So they can do more bad loans? Good gravy, this is so, so frigging stupid….

“What I don’t understand, I ridicule” – Signed, the White House.

Listen to the serpentine semantics of the press secretary – “I *feel* assured Mr. Santelli does not know what he’s talking about”. Mr. Secretary, your feelings are immaterial. If you want to argue with Mr. Santelli on substance and not your “feelings”, then I’m all ears. Until then, kindly STFU and keep drinking your Kool-Aid.

Russs   February 20th, 2009 - 3:40 pm

Gibbs is an arrogant BUFFOON…what a jerk!

JoeJ   February 20th, 2009 - 3:47 pm

The pattern of behavior of belittling and attacking anyone who disagrees with Obama is very troubling. From Joe The Plumber to Rick Santelli this the behavior of a communist regime. The press core laughing when that fat piece of garbage offers Rick a cup of decaf is also further evidence of the lap dog press or industrial media complex. Recall this fool Obama now.

James K   February 20th, 2009 - 4:05 pm

I agree with the above. These guys make my blood boil. As Russs said, Gibbs is an arrogant, incompetent, unprofessional, buffoon.

If my neighbor’s house is on fire, I DON’T NEED THE GOVERNMENT to force me to help my neibhor and put it out. If I don’t FEEL like helping my neibhor because I know HE SET HIS OWN HOUSE ON FIRE, then ITS MY RIGHT TO SIT MY A$$ ON THE COUCH WHILE IT BURNS.

As Jeff said, “STFU” Gibbs.

TruthTeller   February 20th, 2009 - 4:05 pm

Comon, people! What does a certified, licensed stock trader know about economics? Especially compared with the incredible intellect and vast experience of President Obama?

After all, Mr Obama is… well, was… um… you know… a senator for almost 2 years, and… um, ran the Annenberg Challenge.. well ran it into the ground… alongside a domestic terrorist.

Don’t you see- community organizing in Chicago requires at least a masters degree in economics, right?

And although Mr. Obama is not be qualified to be CEO of a balloon factory, nor could he pass a basic FBI security clearance, he IS qualified to be the CEO of the most powerful nation on Earth… um, well, you know… what used to be the most powerful nation… um, well, never mind….!!

Welcome to the Obama Nation.

What the White House does not understand is that Rick Santelli DOES KNOW what he is talking about. He is speaking for those of us who have no voice in this slow march socialism, and were mad as hell, and we are not going to take it anymore.

Maybe if they had allowed the American people and the legislators to SEE that PORKULUS BILL before it got swept into “law,” these kinds of embarrassing episodes of TAXPAYER REVOLT would not be happening…

And maybe if more taxpayers WOULD REFUSE TO READILY HAND OVER THEIR HARD-EARNED DOLLARS, the government might not feel so well-heeled to blow our money on Bu11crap!

Maybe there should be RECORD NUMBERS OF TAXPAYERS WHO FILE FOR EXTENSIONS AND SLOW DOWN THIS TRAINWRECK??

Maybe…

Stan   February 20th, 2009 - 5:24 pm

What an arrogant “public servant”. The Obama Whitehouse has a habit of responding like 12 yr olds or conversely, jackbooted thugs to anyone that questions their policies. That has to cease, smug AND clueless seems to be their M.O..

I have a choice of believing a new president who so far has flip-flopped on most every promise he’s made and his snarky dogboy, or I can believe a guy who’s knee-deep everyday with the REAL world of finance. Guess which one I choice.

Thrasher6   February 20th, 2009 - 5:45 pm

Gibbs is totally vacuous.

Santelli and Charlie Gasparino tell it like it is!!!

Bbobo   February 20th, 2009 - 6:00 pm

Santelli is a major player at the CBOE…the PINNACLE of free market reality. The Obama “nigronomics” model of finance is about to come apart at the seams and the free market will subsequently take THEM apart at seams.

Guess you should have actually RUN A BUSINESS before you tried running the world’s (formerly) greatest super power, eh Barry?

Nick57   February 20th, 2009 - 6:38 pm

Robert Gibbs is a liar! Didn’t the idiot watch Santelli on the floor? It was all of the traders backing his voice. This administration will be looking down the gun barrel of anger for a long time. They’re arrogant and clueless.

Sister..AF   February 20th, 2009 - 7:00 pm

This Gibbs guy is a joke………our President’s initials fit…B.O. and that’s no joke !!

Frank   February 20th, 2009 - 7:05 pm

This plan will only encourage irresponsibilty. Many renters opted not to buy a house because they knew they could not afford the payments. They acted responsibly. Are they now going to help bail out those who acted irresponsbly. Many home buyers bought a smaller home because they knew they could not afford the larger house. They acted responsibly. Are they now going to help bail out those who bought more than they could afforce? If the answer is yes then why should any one act responsible in the future. President Obama is signaling be irresponsible and the government will protect you. Be responsible and the government will punish you. Is this what we want America to become?

JoJO   February 20th, 2009 - 7:06 pm

This is an act right? He can’t be that stupid can he? Quite a bunch of people we have in charge, tax cheats, idiots, or both.

Bill Dollar   February 20th, 2009 - 9:51 pm

Santelli was 100% on-target with his remarks. Why should the financial contributors to our country support stupid people who are too dumb to have the financial acumen to own a home. Individuals like Franklin Raines, James Johnson, Barney Franks, Chris Dodd and Chuck Schumer are primarily responsible for the housing mess today as these individuals all legislatively opposed any and all financial controls on Fannie Mae that would have precluded the crisis.

john   February 20th, 2009 - 10:04 pm

This Gibbs guy is just as arrogant as Obama…

They can’t help but talk down at people..Slowly as if their stupid and can’t understand their Harvard educated jargon…

This is what a lot of college people sound… Like ASSHOLES Assholes who went to college to learn how best to screw people…

jenny   February 20th, 2009 - 10:50 pm

Oh My I am soo happy Obama is president. He is going to pay my mortgage, pay my bills, send my kids to college and provide me with a job. The US government is my new sugar daddy!!!!

John Hayes   February 20th, 2009 - 11:02 pm

Everyone I talk to is outraged at this Acorn earmarked mortgage bailout. Even the former speculators that can hardly meet their rent payments are disturbed. BEWARE! Tea-parties are popping up everywhere.

Russs   February 20th, 2009 - 11:06 pm

Bbobo, Please choose your words carefully, I suggest you use the term “afronomics” rather than the term you used. As an aside, only GIBBS would offer a TEA drinker coffee…or think he could teach Santelli about the economics of “fighting fires” by a forced rebuilding of the neighbors house by the Government.

confused   February 21st, 2009 - 3:13 am

Does a foreclosures devalue the the house next to it? Or is it in fact an opportunity for some person to make a discounted buy in an otherwise higher priced neighborhood. When and if the economy does come back the foreclosure with appreciate quicker the the market. It may mean those of us who have followed the rules still have a decent EQUITY position in our homes but may not be as much as 2005. Even if we sell our house we should be able to make it up on the buy side in this kind of market. As a Realtor I am hearing all kinds of stories of people that purchased 4,5,600,000 dollar houses that got them on $25,000 incomes. No skin in the game so they walk (after they trash the house). First time home buyers have tons of down payment matching funds and various programs if they just make the effort to research reputable mortgage lenders in there area. It isn’t going to happen if you sit on your butt checking the mail slot for a govmn’t check. Good (not great) credit, a steady job, and a willingness to pay your bills is all you need. I’m hurting just like you are (no pay check for 6 months) but I go to bed every night knowing I will find a way to get get through it. Wow That felt good.

Truth is not stranger than fiction in this case. Rick is the truth teller. Don’t expect Gibbs to admit it.
When assholes and mutants vote they usually vote for their kind. We all must suffer as a result.

angelo564   February 21st, 2009 - 8:34 am

Gibbs is an idiot working for a Chicago street thug who, as was said earlier, could not run a baloon factory. We have a lightweight marching us down the wrong road.

Time to unite and throw a few “tea parties” around the country. Then maybe the POTUS will understand what is going on.

As far as Gibbs goes, he’s no Tony Snow!

God Bless America

Kevin   February 21st, 2009 - 11:08 am

Bill Dollar was exactly correct when he said
“Santelli was 100% on-target with his remarks. Why should the financial contributors to our country support stupid people who are too dumb to have the financial acumen to own a home. Individuals like Franklin Raines, James Johnson, Barney Franks, Chris Dodd and Chuck Schumer are primarily responsible for the housing mess today as these individuals all legislatively opposed any and all financial controls on Fannie Mae that would have precluded the crisis.”

Now look at the names he mentioned, Franklin Raines worked at Fannie/Freddie and made kabillions while there, Barney Frank’s lover worked at Fannie/Freddie and Barney actively opposed tightening lending restrictions, Chris Dodd got very favorable terms on his countrywide mortgage because he is a VIP (Don’t forget that little people) and Chuck Shumer is facing huge problems of his own. It almost seems as if opened the prison cells and let the prisoners run the friggin jail.

Dear whatwhatwhat….what???? what???? what????

What you falsely claim as “dying before our eyes”….is really the Lincoln Republicans taking a deep breath and regrouping to continue the fight against the Democratic race to socialism.

JUST ANOTHER DAY IN THE SOCIALIST “REIGN OF BARRY HUSSEIN” AND POOR WHATWHATWHAT…WHO CAN’T IDENTIFY PROPERLY WHAT HE IS SEEING!

whatwhatwhat   February 21st, 2009 - 11:22 am

LOL! More Republican fraud and bitterness. This is what the far right bitter McCain losers seriously tried to report as a revolt on Wall Street against Obama. Hardly. It’s a one man rant from a reporter on the Chicago stock exchange. Even the other traders around him are lighthearted and just reacting to the silly rant.

I can’t believe it but the Republican Party is actually dying before our eyes.

whatwhatwhat   February 21st, 2009 - 2:34 pm

Eileen-

That’s going to be one hell of long deep breath for “Lincoln” republicans.

LOL!

Conservative to the Core   February 21st, 2009 - 3:59 pm

I am so glad to see that there are still fiscal conservatives who are not buying into this BS!!! I hope some of you were Obama supporters who have stopped drinking the Obama Kool-aid long enough to regain your senses and vote fiscal conservatives to Congress in 2010!

Check out http://www.oilforimmigration.org for some FANTASTIC information concerning how Obama is using hypnosis techniques to cause all these people to come under his “spell” and believe every lie falling off his tongue. This is dangerous, folks, just like Hitler hypnotizing the Germans into believing they needed to cleanse Germany of the Jews.

JoeJ – you were right on target when you commented about the press core dying laughing about offering Rick a cup of decaf – that just made me SICK.

They are in the pockets of the DNC – who wants us OPENLY to march to socialism.

My forefathers did not risk their lives in many wars for this NONcitizen to run this country in the ground, and prepare it for Muslim takeover.
