Unfortunately that isn’t much comfort to the unemployed and homeless – the market can hold out for a few years – starving people can’t.

If this bailout is so repugnant to Republicans – let’s have them send their share of the stimulus money back.

ACTUALLY, it has been the Democrats that have controlled our public schools, which have produced a generation of ill-equipped members of our society. Ill-equipped to think analytically, ill-equipped to get a job other than minimum wage, ill-equipped to manage their own lives without the assistance of the government, ill-equipped to manage what money their minimum wage jobs provide, ill-equipped to KNOW that the Democratic leadership has done this on purpose.

Why else would the Democratic leadership sponsor programs that are designed to suck away the dignity of the minority community, cause people to think that, since it’s not THEIR fault, they shouldn’t bother even trying to improve their lot, but instead wait for the government to fix their woes?

If it was up the Republicans, our public schools system’s PRIMARY objective would be to teach, instead of simply mitigate law suits. We would prefer this for the good of the individual, but also for selfish reasons. I don’t have to give a man a fish, if he KNOWS how to fish himself. I don’t have to convince a thinking man that our government, having promised SO MUCH that it exceeds the WORLD GDP, makes it impossible for our government to fulfill such promises. I don’t have to watch an ‘American start in the streets’ if that individual didn’t rely on the government who failed him. And I don’t have to lower MY standing in the community via reverse discrimination if the minority community wasn’t told that THEY aren’t good enough to be my equal otherwise.

I ABSOLUTELY agree with you Bill. We need to recognize the root problem with poverty; that MANY of these entitlement programs are compounding the problem by producing multi-generational dependence citizens, and furthermore, they are DESIGNED to do so.

If you’re a minority, you always have that ‘Did he REALLY get into medical school because of his ability, or simply because of the minority status of the womb he was incubated in?’

If you’re a minority, why DO your current leaders preach the polar opposite of what MLK preached; that all men should be judged on their character and NOT the color of their skin, but instead DEMAND that the color of someone’s skin should be the FIRST characteristic looked at when … applying at a college (for instance).

The bottom line, the Democratic leadership receives a great deal of its’ political power from the poor. WHY then would they HELP raise someone up to the middle class when that generally would require that individual becoming more apt at analytical thinking, and thus jeopardize that individual’s vote to change to a more conservative position?
It’s ONLY when you HAVE something to lose do you become more protective of it, and the harder you worked for it, the more you want to protect it. So, if you raise someone from poverty to middle class, of course that individual will probably FREELY give of their time and donate money to worthy causes, but will likely NOT support raising taxis.

And for that reason, there will always be a disconnect between what the Democratic VOTER and the Democratic LEADERSHIP are actually trying to accomplish.

It’s called “fraud, waste and abuse” of government.

I’m sick and tired of congress acting foolish.

I had also another item about guns…that there is a new bill in the House that “all” guns purchased in the U.S. have to be registered in Washington.

I think the bill is H.R. 45….but I’m not real sure.

The workers and producers of the US must now beat down the bureaucrats, educrats, lawyers, union bosses, and all others who pretend to serve the people but only serve themselves. It will likely be beneficial to see the nation fall, then maybe we can sweep the crap away. Obama, Pelosi and company want a socialist nation cause it’s their way to lasting power.

Russia & China are just kicking back and laughing at us. Every single day they become a tad bit more free. And, every single day we sell our souls and our children’s souls to slavery. Our government wants socialism, because then they own you. And, there is nothing we can do about it now. Just enjoy the ride straight into slavery or fight it all the way to your coffin. We as Americans are too comfortable, we don’t understand what we give up every day that passes, and we as a whole sure won’t risk our freedom or our lives to put the government back in its place.
