The momentum is growing. It will take an international war crimes tribunal. Of course, a few more million layoffs could drastically change the social climate of this country, and people could start to demand justice regarding the criminality of the Iraq War – both in human cost and the financial cost. Then there is more and more information that comes to light regarding other disturbing developments.

Leahy is a traitor to America.

How dare he, even think about pursuing litigation to charge our former President with false charges.

President kept our country safe for 8 years…without his help and we the American people don’t need it now!

You sir should be tried for treason and thrown out of office just on your accusations!

JUST ANOTHER DAY IN THE “REIGN OF BARRY HUSSEIN”!

Eileen,

You must mean Bush kept the country safe for eight years, except for 9/11. Of course hindsight is 20/20, but isn’t it strange that Bush kept reading to those little children for another twenty minutes after hearing of the attack.

Look, I can appreciate that Bush said he didn’t want to alarm those little children at the school. But couldn’t he just have stood up and said, “Children it’s been really wonderful seeing you all today.” I think you’ve got a good teacher here.” “I must get back to work” “But keep up the good work.” “Bye, bye!”

Would that have been so hard, Eileen?

Warum don’ t, das Sie mit Ihrer eigenen Partei beginnen, Sie dic*ed Liberaler limped. Und während Ihr an ihm Sie den Führer heraus überprüfen und herausfinden konnten, wo er wirklich geboren war.

Eileen for Freedom/Liberty   February 10th, 2009 - 1:08 pm

Dear N…thank you for bringing up that I left out President Bush in my sentence.

As to President Bush sitting there and continuing on with the children, after being informed of the attack…

I only can judge by own reaction to things.

If I had been in the same position and I was the President sitting there reading to very young children and was advised like he was, I would have done the same thing.

I would carefully try not to alarm the people in the room and, especially, the children by abruptly rising and rushing out of the room.

It would have left the children and the adults in a chaotic environment that would not have been good for the children.

Even…with our own children…if we hear things as adults…in their presence…that are tragic…we try not to speak of them in front of the children so not to alarm them.

That doesn’t mean once we have gathered our thoughts and emotions that we don’t sit down and then discuss what happened…we must…but in a calm and collected manner.

So I understand and do not fault him for that.

I, too, have a tendency when given bad or alarming news…not to react abruptly but to clearly and slowly process the situation and the solution.

This is certainly magnanimous of Sen Leahy to want to “just get to the truth”. He certainly has a solid reputation of pursuing the truth. Also, he likes to tell classified “truth” to reporters because he has a difficult time keepng a secret. Leahy was the one-time vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, who had to resign the post in disgrace 14 years ago after acknowledging he divulged secret information to a reporter regarding Libya. Related to the Iran-Contra scandal, the Leahy had to resign his Intelligence Committee post after he was caught leaking secret information to a reporter.
Now, Leahy seems to think that divulging state secretes is honorable, but for Bush to protect the country for 8 years requires scrutinty.
Idiot Democrat.

Congressional Budget Office predicts that this bill “would reduce output slightly in the long run” and thus NOT increase GDP nor help our economy.

Eileen, I hear what you’re saying. Look, no one wants to upset children in a classroom – but certainly if one is president one has to put the lives of thousands of Americans who are being attacked ahead of the possible hurt feelings of fifteen or twenty children. Don’t you agree?

Eileen for Freedom/Liberty   February 10th, 2009 - 6:12 pm

Dear N…yes I agree with that premise…however…I would still react the same way.

Afterall remember when we first heard this…we couldn’t really comprehend it.

I heard about the first plane and didn’t comprehend it…I heard about the second plane and about the one heading to the Pentagon, etc. and then it began to hit me that it must be an act of terrorism.

But it didn’t really hit home until I got home from work and saw the pictures of the towers coming down did it make it’s real impact and the magnitude of what had happened.

I saw his reaction when he was told about the first plane, he could tell by his appearance that he, too, was trying to grasp in his mindseye what had taken place while continuing to do what he was doing…trying to figure how he could end that session quickly.

From the time he was told until he left that classroom was not a long period of time…it only seemed like an eternity and probably did to him also.

Remember…at this point no one knew what the terrorists had in mind or if they were also targeting the President and his administration…so it was a dangerous and confusing time for them also!

I applaud him for remaining calm and finishing the session without alarm to the children and getting on, as quickly as he could, to do what he had to do to manage this terrorist attack upon our country.

I would guess that the Secret Service were more than concerned about him getting out of that school also…it was confusing for everyone…but I don’t fault them for remaining calm.

Oh, give me a freaking break!

SuperSarge229   February 11th, 2009 - 5:49 pm

The last thing the Democrats want to bring out is the truth!

The truth is we would have been done in Iraq two years ago and be drawing down in Afghanistan if the disloyal, backstabbing, un-patriotic, anti-military, self-loathing cowards that are the National Democratic party in this country would have got behind their Commander in Chief and the military!!

The left is contaminated with socialist dung to their very core and need to be completely eliminated from our government!

We need a REAL party of liberals in this nation!
These JackA55es are not “liberals”, they are socialists.
They hate themselves and this country!

And as far as I’m concerned, they can ALL go straight to HE11!!!

Bunch of sniveling, backstabbing, turd munchers!

I’m sorry, did I sugar coat that?

Gandi's Fist   February 16th, 2009 - 2:38 am

Truth? How can this cat say that with a straight face!!?? The Dems wouldn’t know or admit to truth if it were the proverbial noses on their faces.

Truths (Hidden or downplayed by media) about the Dems.

•The mortgage mess with Freddy Mac & Fanny Mae were both caused by Dem legislation and oversight of same.

•9-11 had way more to do with the Clinton administration than the Bush.

•The Dems have more ties to big business and lobbies than the GOP. The combined wealth of the Dems could buy and sell the members of the GOP many times over.

• Dems have–in their party ranks–a former Klansman. How do you think that would play out for the GOP.

• Dem welfare and social engineering damage those said programs are aimed at helping. Why? Answer: Creates a dependency class who’s future is focused on the success of the party who maintains their dependency. Ahh the mother state at last. Hey, wasn’t that called communism?

The scariest bit is not Obama, as he is more like a symptom of the problem than the problem itself. What’s concerning is the fact that a certain proportion of the masses have realized they can vote stuff for themselves. Housing, food, clothing, cable TV and much more. If you cannot see what a problem this is, then you know little of history and less of human nature.

Obama, I live in my car. My able bodied son wants free stuff too. Can you take money from taxpayers and give me a home?

Truth commission…give me a break!
