Sue for fraud. It’s that simple. It doesn’t matter what the ticket “intends” to say. If the number is a six, and it says “six,” it doesn’t matter if there is a smudged “t” to the side. Smudged “t six” is not a number. There has to be some recourse for this travesty.

That is one way to fix your budget problems. Just don’t pay off. Say, “oh, yeah, there was a printing problem.”

Even the mob wouldn’t have tried to cheat you on street numbers with something this lame.

What a ripoff. Attention attorneys! I smell lawsuit.

Bo Giggley   February 9th, 2009 - 12:15 pm

This is what we’re going to see for the next four years…

“Oops! There was a printing problem at the US Mint. Those $10 bills and $100 bills had printing errors. They’re actually $1 bills.”

“Oops! There was a counting error in the US Census figures. All those Republican Districts are really Democratic Districts.”

What about the “printing error” on Obongo’s Birth Certificate?

Mike Houston   February 9th, 2009 - 12:28 pm

Pay up you frauds!

Dawn   February 9th, 2009 - 1:23 pm

If it was a printing error would there not be 5400 people in this story? If none arise than we can see the scam for what it is!

Dawn   February 9th, 2009 - 1:26 pm

Sorry, 4500 people….

Its a govt agency that cannot be sued and, by purchasing the ticket, she is agreeing to not hold the agency responsible.

She’s screwed.

If everyone stopped buying Lottery tickets for a month or so, NY would be deeper in doo-doo than the state already is.

This poor lady has been “Pitzer’d.”

Bankrupt the Empire State.

California gives out IOU’s for owed tax money….New York keeps lottery winner’s money….wise up…. quit buying lottery tickets and stop paying taxes…..these clowns are worse than the mob

brent   February 10th, 2009 - 2:55 am

Ok the smudge was suppose to be a t as in twentysix but the number was 6 with no smudge. If there would have been a smudge of a two I would say fine but the actual number was 6 and the word under it was also six. NY should pay this lady.

THAT’S ALL A BUNCH OF B.S. GIVE THAT WOMAN HER $5MILL. WHY DID THE EVEN CONTINUE SELLING THE TICKETS IF THE NEW SO MANY WHERE MISPRINTED? WHAT IF SOMEONE WHO DIDN’T HAVE A WINNER ACTUALLY WON DUE TO THE COLGGED INKJET. GUESS THAT’S NOT A PROBLEM SINCE THEY DON’T HAVE TO PAYOUT. TWENTY DOLLARS IN THEIR BANK.

goofy   August 7th, 2009 - 7:37 am

If a polititian or law enforcement officer had the same ticket they would of honored it . Why are they selling tickets if they no there were misprints? They didn’t mind taking her money for the ticket . Typical New York Scam and they wounder why the rest of america has such a low oppinion of New Yoprk State .
