If she passes away B-HO will see to it that there is someone more liberal to take her place. I hope she makes it, retires and her spot is left empty.

The truth really does hurt.   February 5th, 2009 - 2:55 pm

This is a really nasty form of cancer. Usually she would be lucky to last a year. However it looks like they caught this one early so we can hope that she will respond favorably.

My neighbor died of this. He went from a healthy, tall, tough guy, to a sickly skeleton in 8 months. He did everything he could do to save himself. None of it helped. It was so sad. It is a horrible way to die.

The Sad Truth   February 5th, 2009 - 3:06 pm

The sad truth is that Obongo, the illegitimate usurper of the office of the President, will appoint another liberal judge who thinks the constitution is just a suggestion and not the guiding document for our freedoms. Another liberal judge who thinks they should give European law equal weight in their decisions on American constitutional matters. Ginsberg came straight from the ACLU to serve on the court appointed by Clinton.

The 2nd amendment will probably fall within the next 4 years and shortly after that, the 1st.

Get real, for once!   February 5th, 2009 - 3:37 pm

If Justice Ginsburg has to step aside for medical reasons Mr. Obama SHOULD pick a very liberal justice to replace her. Mr. Bush went to the Right; why shouldn’t Mr. Obama go to the Left? It’s called balance…and NO they are NOT going to take your guns away.

She was the most liberal. Likely Obama will replace her with a similar judge. Maintain status quo.

Ginsberg was very anti-gun ownership. If the conservatives didn’t have the majority then its conceivable that they would try and legislate from the bench.

There isnt a more liberal justice than her.

She was planning to retire in 2004 but Bush re-election stalled that.

She looks like Alan Greenspan’s sister. Ooops, make that brother.(in drag)

Before you nutjobs whack me for the Greenspan comment, let me say one thing. I think Greenspan is a very attractive fellow. I worked as an intern in his office once, and had a Bromance with him. After an office Hannukah party one year, he porked me. Wonderful memories to this very day.

Other,
Let’s look at this objectively. If Ms. Ginsburg is the most liberal justice (and she probably is) then how can the make up of the Court be changed to the left by replacing her with another liberal judge? If anything it is more likely that Mr. Obama would select someone who is liberal but NOT as liberal as she was–in which case the Court would shift to the right.

So what is everyone worried about?

OOPS   February 5th, 2009 - 5:06 pm

And what happens if Obongo appoints someone to the court and then is found not to be qualified to be president in the first place due to the fact he refuses to establish his citizenship status? That appointment would be illegal and unconstitutional.
The further this goes into Obongo’s only 4 year term the worse it is going to get unless he fires his lawyers who are keeping his citizenship status locked up.

PRAYERS FOR HER   February 5th, 2009 - 11:21 pm

ALL politics aside, pancreatic cancer is a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE DISEASE, and compassion and prayers should be extended to ANYONE who is afflicted with that calamity. A family member died last year of this awful cancer, after fighting the Good Fight for nearly two years. It is such a tragic, painful, emaciating disease. Sympathy and best wishes to ANYONE, regardless of who they are, who might contract this demonic condition.
