President Obama’s economic recovery package will actually hurt the economy more in the long run than if he were to do nothing, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said Wednesday.

CBO, the official scorekeepers for legislation, said the House and Senate bills will help in the short term but result in so much government debt that within a few years they would crowd out private investment, actually leading to a lower Gross Domestic Product over the next 10 years than if the government had done nothing.

CBO estimates that by 2019 the Senate legislation would reduce GDP by 0.1 percent to 0.3 percent on net. [The House bill] would have similar long-run effects, CBO said in a letter to Sen. Judd Gregg, New Hampshire Republican, who was tapped by Mr. Obama on Tuesday to be Commerce Secretary.

If you watched any of the Congressional discussions on CSPAN last night you heard the following:

A GOOD AMENDMENT THAT DID “NOT” PASS…

Last night around midnight 2/6…an amendment was introduced that would have taken the “entire” stimulus package of over $800 billion and given it to American taxpayers who file taxes. It amounted to about $10,000 per couple and about $5,000 per individual .

Ten Thousand dollars could be used to buy a needed car, a down payment on a small house, pay off on a credit card… thereby getting directly into the system to stimulate our economy.

However, the amendment was defeated for good reason….because it was money that would have to be “borrowed”.

That wasn’t why it was defeated…it was really defeated because the Democrats would rather use the money for golf courses and water parks, etc.

ANOTHER AMENDMENT THAT DID PASS…

Another Amendment that was introduced was to “NOT” pay any monies (that amounts to millions of dollars) whatsoever to ACORN.

ACORN you remember was being investigated for illegal voting procedures that eventually put the new President over the top in the election.

The Democratic members resoundingly defeated that proposal.

Tell them how you feel about possibly being the (3) votes that may give the Democrats the 60 votes they need to pass this garbage!

America…I for one…have had enough. I agree with bi-partisanshhip, but not in this case.

This bill is too big and too burdensome for the American taxpayer to take on.

I have already emailed them, and I also emailed the leader of the Republican National Committee (RNC.com) to express my displeasure…please do the same.

The Republicans have continually expressed in these debates that they feel the only stimulus we should have is for the “housing” industry…I agree.

The “housing” industry started this mess and that is what needs to be fixed….not water parks, ACORN and golf courses.

America…we need to get real in Washington…there is no change…there is only status quo.

CSPAN 2 – STIMULUS DEBATES AT 12:00 PM EST

If I were anyone connected with the Bush White House, the last thing I would do is criticize President Obama for anything. He has inherited a disaster that, although not solely forged during W’s term of office, was allowed to fester for too many years while superficial ideology suppressed thoughtful leadership. Beck should be ashamed of what happened on the right wing watch and, were I him, maintaining a low profile would be the course I would chose.

The United States has woken from its Pavlovian slumber and we will no longer respond to pointless attacks based on irrelevant matters. The Repuglican’ts destroyed everything outside the Oval Office he so piously now defends. My advice, unless and until this “Fix Noise” puppet has something to say of substance that is helpful in dealing with all of the strategic blunders with which our nation is now burdened, Shut Up!
