I guess that’s what you get for buying the cheap dog food.

Keef   January 9th, 2008 - 1:52 pm

LMAO! What a hillbilly way to die.

Blogger1947   January 9th, 2008 - 5:57 pm

“Always keep the safety on.” That’s bum advice, especially in this case. Depending on the model of shotgun and how it was lying in the truck, the dog’s paw could have released a “safety.”

The operative instruction ought to be “unload and open the action any time the firearm is not in your hands.”

Years ago I read about a man in Germany getting killed when his dog jumped in the back of his truck and setting off his shotgun. So, I don’t think this was the first.

I Pray for the deceased. And I pray that that good dog, who could only have loved his master more than any human can imagine, will have a loving home.

I heard the lab used to be Dick Cheney’s. The lab clearly thought he saw a duck and went to shoot it.

It doesn’t have to be like this, Sam! I know you’re upset about me making you jump in that cold lake in the winter, but just please put the gun dowBLAM!

HAHAHA   January 10th, 2008 - 8:01 am

this isn’t funny, but did you notice the sheriff holding back a smile?

Inri Porter   January 10th, 2008 - 8:18 am

The guy was a hunter? Well, good: what goes around, comes around. At least he died knowing how his trophies felt after he shot ‘em…Now, if only deer and ducks could learn to shoot, it would be a genuinely more interesting world. Give the dog a medal, send it to Iraq.

Inri, You’re a PETA freak, aren’t you? Give us a fricken break. A human being was killed. The man probably did a lot for his community and was probably a loving father.

Watch where you step… you may kill some ants. hehe

Arturo Espinosa   January 10th, 2008 - 5:49 pm

The best safety is to unload the weapon just before putting it away.

No, he was a guy with a gun.

Remember: Safety first, before you kill God’s creatures!

Guns don’t kill people, dogs with guns kill people. LMAO.

just more proof that in the deep south, it’s not uncommon for a pet to outwit its owner.

Poor guy lived just a little too close to Louisiana, the stupid rubbed off. These bizarre “Texas Redneck” stories always happen in East Texas. Natural Selection indeed.
