Senator Warns White House Will ‘Create Crisis and Widespread Panic’ to Push Stimulus

“I think more and more the Bush administration and now this administration knows that they’re not going to get a quick reaction out of Congress unless they create crisis and widespread panic. And that’s going to be their M.O. to get Congress to act.”

THE $850 Billion (and counting) Stimulus Plan is nothing more than a payoff by Obama and the Democrats for votes received!

Union – JOBS and $$$ for votes delivered

ACORN – BIG $$$ (“neighborhood stabilization activities”)
for votes delivered

People who don’t pay income tax – “tax refund” checks (handout) for votes cast

Al Gore and his cohorts – provide FUNDS for an electrical grid for alternative-energy (so they can cash in on the SCAM)

IF YOU DON’T AGREE WITH THIS CORRUPTION CALL YOUR CONGRESS PERSON AND MAKE YOU’RE FEELINGS KNOWN!

David Hinz   January 27th, 2009 - 8:46 pm

The President does not dare allow the American people time to give all the spending a sober consideration. Hope and Change – Hope and Change!

OBAMA SOCIALISM = STAR TREK SOCIALISM

GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY – SCHOOL OF LAW
Somin: Star Trek Presents Contradiction Between Socialism and Federalism
http://www.law.gmu.edu/news/2007/829

The popular television and motion picture series Star Trek helps perpetuate the illusion that we can combine government control of the economy with strong local autonomy and individual freedom, according to Professor Ilya Somin, writing in the National Review Online.

Mamas, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Federation Tax Collectors
National Review Online, September 28, 2007. By Ilya Somin.
http://www.nationalreview.com/category/?q=YjY0NjgxZTcyMmJkODRmYWRiYjc3MmE4YWRmOGZlZjk=

“Despite five Star Trek TV series and numerous movies, we still don’t know too much about federalism in the United Federation of Planets. How much power does the Federation’s central government have, and how much is left to the individual planets? Does the central government’s Star Fleet have a monopoly of military force, or do other planets have their own forces? Does the Federation subsidize planetary governments or are they fiscally self-sufficient? Unfortunately, the academic literature on Federation law isn’t much help either.

“It is easy to have fun with these kinds of speculations. The truth, however, is that the producers of Star Trek most likely didn’t even consider the possibility that there is a contradiction between the Federation’s socialism and its federalism. Just as they didn’t consider the contradiction between its socialism and its seemingly strong protection for personal freedom. The problem is not that Star Trek ideology is flawed in its treatment of these issues; it’s that Star Trek failed to take them seriously to begin with.”

Democrats lauch petition against Rush Limbaugh!
Go to drudgereport.com and go to this site and click on the word launched. I signed the petition to praise Rush for giving us the truth and you can to. I can’t believe these idiots already want to take away our freedom of speech. Rush did not say what they are claiming.(this youtube is not the entire comment by Rush just the part they want you to hear) If they would listen to the whole comment they would realize Rush hopes Obama’s policies fail as do I. The democrats have said some of the most horrible things about President Bush for the last eight years and Rush says one thing and they want a petition. Come on you liberal idiots it’s called freedom of speech.

Give the Dems more credit than this.
This is some right wing bedwetter adapting
the Bush/Iraq playbook and projecting it
onto the new administration.
This doofus is just a hood ornament

I just think it’s funny Obama told Nazi (dead children are a eco friendly) Pelosi to take the condoms off his stimulus package.

N   January 28th, 2009 - 1:26 am

I don’t think anyone has to fabricate a sense of crisis. The crisis looks pretty real for those who are affected by the growing unemployment numbers, the falling housing values, and the escalating debt.

If you look around, there is a growing chorus of pretty smart people that are calling our current economic situation a depression.

So far I think the bailouts that have gone through so far have essentially been criminal. There has been no accountability – and there has been a refusal by the Fed to tell us where the money has gone.

The thing is if we don’t do anything it looks like things are not going to turn around. The latest problem on the horizon that I’m reading about is the fact that pensions are about to implode. Companies will soon have to decide whether they pay pensions or pay for payroll.

Even the stimulus plan may not work, but maybe we should give it a shot. Look we could wait for the market to correct itself. The problem is if you have rising unemployment, hunger and homelessness – a lot of people may die while waiting for the economy to turn around – which – let’s not kid ourselves – could take many years.
That’s certainly not going to help the vast numbers of Americans who live from paycheck to paycheck – even when times are good.

Thinking American   January 28th, 2009 - 2:08 am

Support him or not, President Bush tolerated voices of dissent and ridicule throughout his terms of office. Now it looks as though dissent is suddenly unacceptable!

N   January 28th, 2009 - 2:49 am

Thinking American,

Dissent certainly wasn’t tolerated under Bush. Professors who spoke against Bush’s policies were put on terror-watch lists – unable to travel.

Those who went to protest Bush were herded into first amendment zones.

Other people were visited by the Secret Service simply for being heard making a criticism of Bush
out in general public.

Valerie Plame certainly played a price for being critical of Bush. Colin Powell was also squeezed out for not playing ball.

There are many other examples.

“The US Banking System is Insolvent”: Dr. Doom
http://www.cnbc.com/id/28888190

That was the opinion of economist Nouriel Roubini, of RGE Monitor, who was one of the first people to predict the housing crisis, speaking to “Squawk Box Europe” this morning.

Expected losses of about $2 trillion exceed bank capital of about $1.5 trillion, Roubini said.

Roubini had earlier said that total financial system losses could hit $3.6 trillion.

And “schemes” to just buy so-called toxic assets may not work, because the “risk is it’s going to take too much time to resolve the problem,” he added.

Dave, Tn   January 28th, 2009 - 6:01 am

“Those who went to protest Bush were herded into first amendment zones.”

You mean like at the DNC in Denver? Most of the left’s babbling paranoia was just percentile vomiting of what they knew they’d be doing if they were in power. Missouri truth squads anyone?

Eagle Eye   January 28th, 2009 - 8:27 am

N, look at the sat photo’s for the inaguration and you will see how Obama hearded his supporters into to smaller groups on the mall, even some of them got to hear it through a tunnel wall. lol. Look at the libtards trying to petition and silence two radio talk show host.
Yet, your example excludes the present administrations attempts to quiet dissent
WHY?

Crisis is the 1st 6 months-Joe Biden !

He must be in charge of hiring the pilots!

Button Down the Hatches   January 28th, 2009 - 9:18 am

WHAT CRISIS? And within 6 months the believers will see Obama can do nothing and they will turn on him! Marshal Law is coming, have you prepared well? It’s much bigger than the U.S. It’s a world crisis!

1/21/09 The level of idle containerships has risen to 255 — 5.5% of the global fleet, a historic high.

1/13/09 Shipping rates hit zero as trade sinks Freight rates for containers shipped from Asia to Europe have fallen to zero for the first time since records began, underscoring the dramatic collapse in trade since the world economy buckled in October.

Button Down the Hatches   January 28th, 2009 - 9:56 am

Shipping is an indicator of world trade not just the U.S.

All signs are this is not a recession it’s a world wide depression.

This is where the answer is going to be the NWO. What it is is a crisis Manufactured so that all the citizens of the world will ask for an answer and that answer will be the NWO. All control will be vested in about 2500 people in the world.

In other words the rest of us will finally be under their control. This was all achieved by the Central Banks in ALL the countries being run from the original Rothschild and his 5 sons (5 arrows in the family crest). And yes, this is true !!!

Button Down the Hatches   January 28th, 2009 - 10:15 am

Depression–Do not pay your taxes on April 15. They won’t give you money back so good, they have just confiscated the citizens money so the illegals can continue receiving their medical, schooling, food stamps, etc.

See why marshal law is coming. Citizens without food and housing are going to bring this government to ground. The citizens will eventually win because it will be like the Viet War. Hiding in tunnels, pooping out when they look the other way. Are you ready???

ABC News has learned that tax refunds are now on hold in California for the first time in state history, according to the state controller’s office.

“Unfortunately, we have asked the California Franchise Tax Board not to send over tax refund claims beginning today because we will not be able to process them and have them out the door by Feb. 1 when a 30-day delay in tax refunds goes into effect,” Hallye Jordan, spokeswoman to California State Controller John Chiang, tells ABC News.

During the 30-day delay, the controller’s office estimates that a combined 2.74 million California individuals and businesses will have their tax refund delayed.

The controller’s office estimates that the delay in tax refunds will free up $1.99 billion over the next month to pay for education, debt service, and other payments that legally have first claim to state funds.

California has had no money in its general fund for the past 17 months, and has been paying its bills by borrowing from Wall Street and special internal funds.

If the state’s legislators and governor do not reach a budget agreement that brings immediate funds into the state’s coffers, the state’s borrowed funds will be entirely exhausted at the end of February, according to the controller’s office.

Its not a depression. Its barely a recession (-.75% GDP)

Its an adjustment that was not caused by cyclical economics

You really don’t mean that. Those are stats the government uses to keep the citizens stupid and watching the latest Idol programming.

Congressional Budget Office compares downturn to Great Depression!

Thank you for your response! My husband is a truck driver and says that you are ‘right on the money’ about the containers! The other response you had stating that California Governor said, “The controller’s office estimates that the delay in tax refunds will free up $1.99 billion over the next month to pay for education, debt service, and other payments ‘that legally have first claim to state funds’.”—–is true EXCEPT that he was WRONG! The refunds are not ‘theirs’ – they are overpayment of ‘our’ tax money! That money should be returned, and now! The thought process they use is the same as democrats use – ‘all money’ is ‘their money’ with no accountability! It’s completely unacceptable! Again, thanks for the clarification!
