"From the reporter's point of view, it's almost hard to remain objective because it's infectious energy. It sort of goes against your core to say that as a reporter."
It is about time someone from the main stream media admit their liberal bias.
Just think of all the ass kissing Barak Hussein Obama is going to get should he win the nomination.
SoCal PatriotJanuary 8th, 2008 - 2:25 pm
Obama, what a douchebag, so is the idiot reporter. But, you gotta love Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, and Rupert Murdoch. Truly, a fair and balanced network at FOX news.
SKDJanuary 8th, 2008 - 2:27 pm
And people are eating it up because of the way the media is portraying him. The media makes it clear that they believe it’s time for a black president, nothing else about him matters, and the public agree because they believe they are supposed to.
WDJanuary 8th, 2008 - 3:18 pm
Who has lately accused an NBC or MSNBC (or any other MSM reporter for that matter) of being objective?! Most of them are Dems and all of us dumb ole regular Americans out here know it, so we usually take anything they say with a grain of salt, if not an enire shaker. Vice versa for Fox.
These days, objectivity is like Santa Claus. It’s a lot of fun to talk about, but we all know it doesn’t exist.
SoCal PatriotJanuary 8th, 2008 - 3:25 pm
FOX News IS fair and balanced, please.
They are the only network worth watching. Instead of going to church, I watch Hannity. Instead of walking the dog, I watch Bill O’. If everybody listened to them, this would be a much better world to live in.
JohnJanuary 8th, 2008 - 5:38 pm
It’s no surprise than a FEELING (not thinking), left wing reporter “can’t help” but to get caught up in the moment. Look at him. Giggly and unprofessional. An effeminate, illogical member of the MSM.
And for you idiots, Hannity admits his conservativism, and is counterbalanced by Colmes. Van Susteren is a lib, as is Geraldo. O’Reilly’s show is about editorializing, so it’s about opinion.
The difference is that MSNBC and NBC claim to be objective when they are asserting their liberal agenda.
TomJanuary 8th, 2008 - 6:10 pm
Actually, John…the difference is that this clown is supposed be a journalist/correspondent who isn’t supposed to be biased. Hannity, Colmes, Van Susteren, Geraldo and O’Reilly are NOT Correspondent/Journalists…they are commentators so they are about editorializing and giving opinion. The real scary thing is that so many people don’t know the difference because they’ve been educated by the same idiots who are backing this empty suit in the first place.
BobJanuary 8th, 2008 - 6:52 pm

The Clinton Machine have not finished with B HUSSIEN yet…just wait until they catch him smoking one of his (favorite) addictions cigarette in front of his wife and children!
VicJanuary 8th, 2008 - 7:56 pm
This is genuinely pathetic and disgraceful. The MSM still tries to maintain the illusion that they do honest, objective journalism in spite of the numerous university studies that demonstrate otherwise.
Now we have this fool gushing like a schoolgirl about Obama…and STILL he tries to act like he’s still being a journalist.
This is genuinely scary. Obama has a track record, a voting history, and a paper trail (albeit relatively short compared to Hillary, McCain, etc.), but the media, instead of examining it critically and asking Obama the obvious, tough questions it should be asking, simply help generate the hype and further the illusion that this guy is some kind of larger than life, messianic figure. And that’s dangerous.
This star-struck reporter should be given an extended leave of absence and a history lesson. Get him off of covering the campaign, because he’s now hopelessly compromised.
The media has been in the tank for Obama for a looooooooong time (since 03).
Even my website has for the most part. I am only one sane editor among many Obama lovers and Ron Paul wackjobs. UG!
Captain AnnapolisJanuary 9th, 2008 - 11:14 am
What a joke.. MSM is in the tank for the DEMS and specifically for Obama after hearing those remarks.. No wonder their ratings suck and they get their ass kicked by FOX.
Dont think for a second that Williams and the reporter clown didn’t speak before the camera started rolling about how they were going to kiss Obamas ass. He is a reporter I could care less about your emaotions and how you feel, you are a pussy noboidy cares what you think!!! Keep it to the facts Jack!!
Did you see how they shook hands at the end??
Funny stuff .. they wonder why the liberal media has no game. Their radio and tv shows consistently get crushed by the right in ratings wars.
If the press actually did an UN-biased job the Dems would never get elected!!!
JohnJanuary 9th, 2008 - 3:56 pm
Tom, you just described the different I was meaning to illustrate. I do understand the difference between what is supposed to be objective news reporting and opinion driven shows. We’re on the same page.

“He who is without sin, cast the first stone!” You can call it whatever you like…and making an issue of his middle name is suppose to do what? Imply that he is muslim? You know full well that if a white man with Obama’s credentials came along, you’d want to crown him King of U.S.A.!! Obama simply goes against the stereotype designed by whites to characterize black men, in particular. He is NOT ignorant, he is NOT lazy, he does NOT lust after white women, and he has NOT asked for a hand-out! This young man beat all the odds, and worked hard for everything he has aquired…unlike YOUR god, John McCain; born to priviledge, born white, and
thought so little of his advantages that he came out of the Academy fifth from the bottom of his class…a war hero, yes; but a womanizing, heartless individual, who walked away from his injured wife and children to be with a woman, who
was much younger, also married, and who happened to be filthy rich! I don’t hear the media bringing up those talking points! So don’t tell me the media is in “The Tank” for Barack Obama!
And since your readers are so pre-occupied with his middle name, Hussein; why don’t they lock onto what “Barack” means? How about “Blessed By
God?” And since when is a person, an American citizen, persecuted for what their name is? This
is nonsense, pure and simple. This is a country
of immigrants, and as Americans, we need to come out of the bigotry that ruled this nation for so many years…first it was bias against blacks, then the chinese, then the irish, then the italians…and the list goes on and on. We need to come out of the darkness and do what Dr. Martin Luther King asked of us: ” let us judge a
man not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character! Carolyn Phillips, WI

A midshipmanAugust 26th, 2008 - 8:24 am
Carolyn Phillips: First of all, us conservatives WANT Obama to be judge by the content of his character and not by his skin. If a WHITE man had his credentials, he wouldn’t have made it past the primaries. The thing that differentiates Obama from prior black democrat presidential hopefuls is that he is the first one to have a grasp on what MLKJ meant by “let us judge a man not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character” (plus he seems to care about all Americans rather than JUST black Americans… I just disagree with his socialist views). Besides this one thing, he is a straight up socialist. If being black was a HUGE problem for Obama to overcome (as you seem to imply), Ralph Nader would have been our President a very long time ago.
Second of all, If you think graduating at the bottom of your class at the Naval Academy reflects poorly, you have no idea what the Naval Academy is about. As a mid, I can say with full conviction that simply graduating from here shows that you are very educated. Top that of with the fact that he made it to the rank that he did as a Navy pilot shows that he is WAY more that just prepared to lead.
P.S If nothing is in a name, why will he not proclaim it unashamedly?
JoshAugust 26th, 2008 - 8:31 am
Carolyn,
I do not have a problem with your premise about how to judge individuals who run for public office. Character is an integral ingredient. But how can you honestly look at Obama, and come to the conclusion that he is qualified for this job? Who cares about his color, or even his religion for that matter; he has no credentials!! He has been on this campaign for about as long as he has been a Senator!! He is as inexperienced as they come! Even W. went to an Ivy League school, (leaving 3rd in class, btw), but at least he ran a business and was governor of a state. John McCain served in the military, served within the government for many many years. Hilary and Biden, (and all other 30 candidates this year) have much better looking credentials than Obama. He will need much more than a plagiarizing speech writer to run this great nation!!

“It’s not cool if you haven’t seen Barack Obama in person” lol
By all means let’s elect a candidate on his coolness factor. The problem with America is that we have a nation of American Idol viewers, MTV viewers, ( Did you see the news clip of the MTV video awards where the host, some English moron exhorted the audience to vote for Obama? ), and people who live their lives vicariously through movie stars ( big time Obama supporters ) sports figures, and other icons of pop “culture”. MHO is that all politicians are salesmen telling us what we want to hear and making us feel good while they have their own best interests at heart. Obama is no different, just a little more slick. He has the added advantage of being gushed over by not only some cable news networks, but by Oprah, The View, US magazine etc. I’m no rabid McCain supporter, but I’m also not so gullible to buy into the Obama love fest.
