Time Writer: Obama Is a ‘Very Rational Sounding Sort of Bigot’ Against Gay Americans

Time: He is far too careful and measured a man to say anything about body parts fitting together or marriage being reserved for the nonpedophilic, but all the same, he opposes equality for gay people.

yeah right. Obama is so careful about his homophobia that you are never going to hear about it nor be able to detect it from any policy measure his white house puts forth.

If a tree falls in a woods, but no one heard it…

Obama a bigot against gays? Never thought I’d defend Obama, but there is nothing to back up that idiotic assertion. In fact there are allegations that old Barack might switch hit on occasion.

The libs always chide the Republicans for not being tolerant. The libs say that THEY are the ones with the big tent.

Yep a great big circus freak show of a tent.

How come people like GRIK always use HOMOPHOBE as the reason people don’t like/condone/accept that type of behavior?
I don’t like brussel sprouts. Does that mean I am afraid of them? They and their supporters have used the word “homophobe” for years to make people who don’t accept their lifestyle as the ones with the problem. We are not the problem. Not by a long shot. I don’t think most people are PHOBIC about that type of behavior. I think rather many feel pity, disgust, revulsion, indifference, hostility, and probably lately weary about a group that defines itself by it’s predeliction, and pre-occupation with themselves, not as humans first or anything else for that matter. Find a hetero that dresses up like a freak at a yearly parade, has multiple anonymous partners for dangerous unprotected an_l copulation, and makes their political, social, and economic life revolve around their obession and orientation. THAT is a problem.
Those that are comfortable with their behavior and themselves don’t spend a lot of time trying to force everyone else to accept them, nor try to shame and disturb people. And if it is so normal, how to they know that their flaunting would be a distraction? Hmmmm. May be because they know it to be revolting?

Before pastor Rick Warren gives his speech those who would, otherwise, preach tolerance are up in arms about whether he should be allowed to speak and whether his beliefs about homosexuality and (for some) abortion should automatically render him persona non grata, a priori.

I believe that abortion should remain legal and that gay rights and gay social acceptance is fundamentally important in and for a free society but I also believe that a person’s beliefs shouldn’t undermine their right to speak. Let’s face it, pastor Rick Warren’s beliefs are representative of the Christian viewpoint which represents many in our country. These beliefs may be wrong and they may, ultimately, prove to be unworkable constitutionally, but he should be allowed to speak because that is the responsibility that freedom of speech warrants. He may not even address this issue and, instead, talk of things that unite us all.

As to what it means with respect to Obama, that can only be determined by the pastor’s actual words which have not been spoken yet and Obama’s reaction to them.

To vet a speaker, making sure his/her beliefs meet all interest group’s values, is as wrong as it is dangerous for any society wishing to call itself free because, in the final analysis, that is the same kind of intolerance that is so repugnant to those promoting tolerance and allowing it undermines freedom.

To be against intolerance means that we must value all forms of speech, even if they aren’t representative of one’s values.

By now most sane liberals are waking up to the fact that BO really is the snake oil salesman the opposition has been calling him all along. Promises made, none to be kept. The latest stunt the con-man is pulling is this…

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/dec/22/obama-wants-bush-war-team-stay/

Most likely because his ego would never let him lose the war and keeping these people on will help ensure a smooth run at least for the short term, until he actually understands events in country. Too bad we couldn’t watch the emotional train wreck to come when the insane and inbred left finally realize what’s coming down the pike for them as well.

syn   December 23rd, 2008 - 8:44 am

Oh please…the Left uses homosexuality as a permanent pipeline for campaign funds; they don’t care about rights, they care about money and power and making up bogus rights (ie homosexuals are not banned from marriage-they have been marrying since the dawn of marriage just not to another of the same-sex) is the means to obtaining the money needed to retain power.

If Democrats were to grant same-sex union between opposite sex then there would be no way to activate the money flow; this is why Democrats keep making promises they will never keep.

Tank   December 23rd, 2008 - 9:51 am

obama doesn’t have an opinion on anything doesn’t this writer know that by now? He’s a fence sitter through and through.

Besides most gays are democrat anyway.

alrighty then   December 23rd, 2008 - 10:59 am

Obama a bigot?…geee, say it ain’t so.

The Left shoulda listened to us. Now they gonna have to live with their obortion.

AlFranken   December 23rd, 2008 - 12:09 pm

Too Funny!

Gays are taking it in the A55 from a black guy. I thought that they liked that kinda thing.

Gays overwhelmingly voted and gave money to the enlightened messiah, now he breaks it off in them. I can’t wait to see what he does to the unions that blindly supported him. BOHICA.

queryous   December 23rd, 2008 - 12:12 pm

Nonsense… he is the champion of all liberal causes , our knight in shining armor, the bully in the bully pulpit…. A man who spends that much time in the gym is not homophobic.

alrighty then   December 23rd, 2008 - 3:42 pm

uhmmmm…maybe there’s a reason he spends so much time in the gym with other men…

cv   December 23rd, 2008 - 4:03 pm

If he was in the gym so much, why does he have the small man-boobs?

Oh My Goodness   December 24th, 2008 - 3:01 pm

what about equality for married heterosexuals, the institution of marriage belongs to us. It was and always will be a tradition of one man and one woman. Homosexuals should start their own type of union. Stop trying to take away the rights of heterosexuals to have a tradition that is all their own..

allen atkinson   December 24th, 2008 - 10:37 pm

He has to keep the peace among the majority of population. If this were a society of alternative life styles as a majority vote he would be backing their openion/cause. What the problem here is he is already campaning for the next election. This new administration has multiple afflections Def dumb and blind. They will not hear the people when they scream for freedom. They will not speak on their behalf when called upon . They will not see the pain they caused .

Eileen for Freedom/Liberty   December 24th, 2008 - 11:54 pm

Socialist/communistic “new” Democratic definition for “change” = same ol…same ol!
