I’m glad we have had adults in the White House these last 8 years. I can’t imagine a Clinton or Gore administration during a time of attack and war.

The “o’s” will also be left on the keyboards in the White House.

Clinton will be, well Clinton. I hope Obama will not be Carter.

larse   December 18th, 2008 - 12:56 am

Didn’t Hitler, Hover, and Saddam say basically that too?

N   December 18th, 2008 - 1:01 am

What I want to know is how we went from basically first to worst in eight short years. Look, I always believed that Bush would be a destructive force upon America. What I didn’t anticipate is the actuality of waking up one day and living in this country and thinking oh yes this country really does feel completely destroyed now doesn’t it? Yet this is the reality that many of us have come to realize.

Look I’m really glad we’ve got a new captain to take over, I just wish it could have happened before we hit that giant iceberg, started taking water, and finally realized we should have ordered more lifeboats before we started out on this luxurious voyage.

Bull hockey to all of you children of the left. Thank you, George!!!!

Mr D   December 18th, 2008 - 5:16 am

The worst president this country has EVER had to clean up after, thanks for absolutely nothing!

Airwick   December 18th, 2008 - 7:37 am

“I didn’t compromise my soul to be popular.”

Yeah…you compromised OURS and now WE are unpopular! Thanks for Abu Ghraib, waterboarding, and Gitmo.

I won’t even start on the economy…

claspur   December 18th, 2008 - 8:12 am

I’ll take another four years of Bush in a New York minute over a Chicago southside community organizer any week of the year.

* Take a driv-thru of that southside sometime….see what a great job Barry Soetoro did…just don’t get a flat though, especially at night.

Leslie in Texas   December 18th, 2008 - 8:38 am

Claspur, you are very delusional if you would prefer 4 more years of Bush mismanagement to Obama. The thing is, we don’t know how Obama will govern, he was a Senator, not a Governor. What we DO KNOW is the mess, the absolute mess that Bush has left Obama.

IrishKay   December 18th, 2008 - 8:47 am

Actually Leslie in Texas, WHAT WE DO KNOW IS THE MESS THAT CLINTON LEFT TO BUSH TO CLEAN UP! BROKEN MILITARY, AVOIDANCE OF ACTION IN AFGHANISTAN, A SURPLUS BY STRIPPING THE MONIES AWAY FROM OUR SOLDIERS, DEREGULATION OF THE BANKING INDUSTRY, AND A COMPLETE LACK OF RESPECT FOR THE JOB HE WAS ELECTED TO DO – IT TOOK 8 YEARS FOR GEORGE TO TRY AND REMEDY IT – HE REALLY NEEDS 4 MORE YEARS – BUT INSTEAD, WE NOW HAVE A MARXIST, INELIGIBLE FRAUD FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS! WE ARE ALL IN BIG TROUBLE! YOUR STATEMENT IS VERY TELLING – HE WAS A SENATOR – AND IF YOU DIDN’T HAVE A SENSE OF WHAT HE WOULD DO , WHY THE HECK DID YOU VOTE FOR HIM?

Hank C. in Maine   December 18th, 2008 - 8:51 am

No, Mr. Bush, you did not compromise your soul, you did, however, compromise the United States standing in the world with your administration. Maybe we have not had another attack on our soil since 9/11 but, if you had been doing your job correctly, we would not have even had the attacks on 9/11. You and your security counsel were warned and you did not heed that warning. Then, when you had the country good and scared after 9/11, you took us to a war in Iraq that had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks.
I am glad you feel you soul is intack, its a good thing I won’t be the judge of that.

Leslie in Texas   December 18th, 2008 - 8:56 am

Irishkay, I voted for Obama because he was the best choice in the presidential race. I certainly wasn’t going to choose an old man who has one foot in the grave and in a patronizing, condescending moment picked the most ignorant woman in the USA for his running mate,

Your hero, Bush, has caused a great amount of damage to the United States’ reputation. Obama is intelligent and thoughtful and he has picked a diverse team of people who won’t just tell him what he wants to hear but what he needs to hear. These are all dramatic changes from the Bush (Mis)administration.

IrishKay   December 18th, 2008 - 8:59 am

Hank C. in Maine – I’d like to say that if Clinton hadn’t ignored the problems in Afghanistan, instead of smokin’ ‘cigars’ with Lewinski in the Oval Office, and had actually hit a ‘real’ target’ instead of an aspirin factory to detract from his investigation of what ‘is’ is, George would have inherited a strong military, monies enough to actually get our guys the equipment they needed to fight the enemy after 9/11-maybe things would be different right now! Let’s lay the blame where it deserves to be laid, on Clinton!!!! Clinton was warned, why no contempt for this guy?

Michelle   December 18th, 2008 - 9:13 am

President Bush was hated by a lot of ppl during his eight years (dems, media, terrorists). I always felt safe with him leading our country. I fear where our country is headed now. You ppl don’t know what you have done electing that man….

Bull!!   December 18th, 2008 - 10:32 am

Why don’t some of the Educated people, writing here wake up and realize that it takes years for laws like Nfta to actually show some effect. Bush did really great during the 9-11 attacks and keep the moral of this country upbeat. Then in the second term congress became more Democratic and getting something done was really difficult. What kind of Pres was Carter?….really, he did nothing but put us in debt. Clinton opened the doors to free trade and it has just started showing the effects. US business going Bankrupt.
Most of the Political figures in Washington are corrupt,,,,, because of the simple thing “money” they are greedy. Bush did not need more money and I truly believe he had the Best heart of any Pres.
He was a great President and Laura was the best First Lady we have ever had!!.

natb1   December 18th, 2008 - 11:42 am

We were hated and dispised by many under Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Bush. We will always be hated. The only question is, “will we also be vulnerable and weak”?

Its worth noting that we were attacked repeatedly arouond the world under Clinton, and 9/11 was all planned under a timid foreign policy.

30+ years of bad lending policies are not all Bushes fault. Though I do not agree with all of this “Bail Out” strategie.

If many of you were not so blinded by hate and paranoia, this country would be solid.

I too hope Obama is succesful. I hope he is a strong leader.

If we fall to extreme Islamic radicalism (Europe First), Im gonna own 3 liberal women and put them in burkhas.

“let? the economy crater???”

this man has no soul

eat shoe a hole!

Airwick   December 18th, 2008 - 1:00 pm

None of you who worship at the alter of “W” have been able to articulate what he did in his first eight months in office to strike the Taliban/al Qaeda in response to their attacks on us during the Clinton administration when so much “insufficient” action took place. If this was such a glaring example of “liberal, democrat inefficiency”, they why didn’t your hero do anything before we were attacked on 9-11? Poor Richard Clarke couldn’t get anyone to listen to his warnings. What was Condi doing…practicing on the piano?

Bush may have started out great after 9-11 but he soon squandered that good will at home and abroad with his “you’re with us or again’ us” attitude.

Finally…if you think that this clown, Cheney, and Rum-dummy rebuilt out military between the time he got into office and the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq then you are truly delusional. The military under Clinton was fully capable of doing the job and did so when called upon. If anything Dumbsfeld messed things up by getting rid of experienced officers and replacing them with his “yes” men. His cavalier attitude to our troops was disgusting, his support of torture was demeaning, and his leadership was sorely lacking.

PaleRyder   December 18th, 2008 - 7:57 pm

Amazing how libs blame 9/11 on W after 8 months in office.Yet you are perfectly willing to turn a blind eye to 5 years of those terrorists practicing their attack on our soil right under the nose of bill,al and reno.Don’t get me wrong,W has turned out to an idiot in my personal opinion but he did go after the maggots and in 2002 he started warning the congress about the coming mortgage meltdown. The problem was not finishing in afgan before taking out sadman and not taking the clinton/reno/frank/dodd affirmative action mortgage plan straight to the people and getting the point across of what was about to happen. That bill was signed by billy in 1999 and the 9/11 boys were here getting ready ,some since 1996.Turning a blind eye does not change FACTS.By the way leslie in texass,I wasn’t aware you were on mccains ticket. She’ll be back and stronger than ever and you know it scares the hell out of you.Truth is bitter and hard to swallow for lefty loons, and they really should be used to having things crammed down their throat.

Wonderful Interview. If ure the typical liberal looking for a scapegoat to mitigate your own stupidity and laziness — u won’t get it from Dubya! I’m confident Americans will lynch Obamer when they get an opp. Sad but tru.

Leslie in Texas   December 19th, 2008 - 7:35 am

Just an observation. I notice while reading through these posts that the people supporting Bush fail to present any cogent arguments for his arrogant behavior or lack of action regarding 9/11. Yes, Al Qaida was around before Bush took office but on August 6, 2001 a bonfide, specific warning regarding airlines being hi-jacked and used as bombs was either ignored by the president or he just did not read it.
So, where is your excuse for him now? Anyone?
