If there is no quid pro quo then there is no problem. I would have expected Mr. Emanuel to have had conversations with Blagojevich about a successor to Mr. Obama’s Senate seat. Anyone regardless of party affiliation would have done so and would be considered to be normal activity. The question that should be asked is very simple. Was an illegal deal struck (or even suggested) by a member of Obama’s inner circle? There is absolutely NO evidence of that occurring.
