Planned Parenthood Gift Certificates Make Controversial Stocking Stuffers

Fox News: A number of Planned Parenthood clinics in Indiana and Illinois are offering gift certificates for their services this Christmas. Officials say the vouchers enable people to give their loved ones "the gift of life" — that would help pay for annual checkups and birth control — but also can be used for abortions.

So women need to go to PP for check ups and tests when they are uninsured and broke? What’s stopping them from going to the Health Department? The government facilities will do/give any service for free, or a very nominal price, except abortion. So, that puts you back at PP. Utterly disgusting.

In order to be pro-choice, one must first be born. Ah, the irony.

It is so nice that Planned Parenthood intends these for the chosen children of Israel, the colored, and the Mexicans. We don’t need anymore of these people. Planned Parenthood is doing society a great service!

NOTHING WRONG WITH IT   December 5th, 2008 - 4:02 am

There’s nothing wrong with the idea of gift certificates for P. P., but why drag CHRISTMAS into it? They probably have these available year round, and should leave it that way. Dragging CHRISTMAS into it is just needlessly offending people.

Women can use the certificates for any number of services offered by P.P., including Pap smears, treatment for infections, birth control supplies, and the like. To equate P.P. SOLELY with ABORTION is a kneejerk and half-true hyper-reaction on the part of some Fundamentalist extremists.

Giving these gift certificates is a nice way to say “hey, I like you but I really think that you shouldn’t procreate.”

PP Does MORE than "Push ABORTIONS!"   December 6th, 2008 - 9:47 pm

“To equate P.P. SOLELY with ABORTION is a kneejerk and half-true hyper-reaction on the part of some Fundamentalist extremists.”

To April and Other, see above.

You guys are kidding yourselves if you think (and thus you perpetuate the untrue myth) that P.P. is SOLELY ABOUT ABORTION.

P.P. offers a whole array of services, including helping women and teens (and even men) with sex education, hygiene and treating infections (ever hear of a yeast infection?!?!), educating about birth control, providing birth control mechanisms (ever hear of an I.U.D., birth control pills, contraceptive foam, condoms??!), doing PAP smears (ever hear of CERVICAL CANCER or H.P.V.??!), etc. Yes, abortion is also provided, if a woman wants and needs one.

Have never heard of P.P. *PUSHING* abortion on anyone. People go there for HELP, and P.P. tries to provide it. Your kneejerk, smarmy attitude is not helping anybody and makes you look like total self-righteous idiots.
