Must be an Obama supporter   November 30th, 2008 - 2:18 pm

Nice job, young man.

revhatchell   November 30th, 2008 - 2:18 pm

Ritty77   November 30th, 2008 - 2:39 pm

Outstanding, Moses!

carljr   November 30th, 2008 - 2:47 pm

The sorry state of our society is shown in living color when someone doing the right thing makes the 6 o’clock news.

The Alienist   November 30th, 2008 - 5:31 pm

Every now and then a story comes up about someone who is otherwise “unremarkable” doing remarkable things. Because of his act I am strengthened in the belief that good can overcome evil. What price dignity? Bravo Moses!!

Obammy, the Exalted HNIC   November 30th, 2008 - 6:19 pm

He is….a typical white person…..

Revhatchell –

You sound like the airport security thugs that detained me and wanted to know why I was carrying $7,000 cash (not enough money for a decent used car) while traveling. Funny how the U.S. government prints money, but they don’t want you to use it.

Anybody in their right might keeps a decent amount of currency in cash. The interest you get is negligible on $10k — but the security is priceless.

One small disaster and your ATM card is worthless!

However, you’re apt to learn this lesson the hard way.

His mother must be soooooooooo proud! 8-)

Lee   November 30th, 2008 - 6:35 pm

p.s. and his dad too!!

JustAnotherGuy   November 30th, 2008 - 6:51 pm

Considering his character, and the fact that he clings to ‘religion”, I’m going to spitball here and say this guy wouldn’t have voted for Obama.

Honesty is Best Policy   November 30th, 2008 - 8:30 pm

Don’t think I would’ve been able to do that. Always thought it was ‘FINDERS KEEPERS, LOSERS WEEPERS.’
However, HONESTY is always the best policy, and what goes around comes around.

Hope he gets his righteous, just reward!

Umm..   November 30th, 2008 - 8:42 pm

I’m wondering if that would’ve happened at the walmart on Martin Luther King Road….

merlin   November 30th, 2008 - 8:44 pm

I would have given it back too. Do you realize how much I would have had to pay in taxes if I had kept it? Tax hikes are on the way! Let the first owner keep pay it.

While I think this kid is a great kid, and really honers his family & religion, I still find it funny that being honest makes the national news as if its a rarity among our children. Is it so rare that people raise their children to be good and honest? I guess so. How sad.

Mark the Qeeur   December 1st, 2008 - 12:11 pm

That is one good kid. Too bad there aren’t more like him. I wish him and his family a very merry Christmas. Liberals take note, this is what America should be about.

I would have   December 1st, 2008 - 1:25 pm

Called the police first. An immigrant with 10k cash??? Hmmm. South American, its drug money; middle eastern its seed money for a terrorist cell. Since they didn’t report the nationality of the immigrant, I suspect its middle eastern. I hope they guy is investigated. I’m OK with someone carrying around 10k, but being completely careless with it, and with a weak, weak, weak, reason for it, and being an immigrant, there’s something way beyond fishy.

However, good for that kid. I had a “buddy” in college who I wouldn’t trust alone with a jar of dollar bills. He worked at the local mall (at 26 y.o.). The mall managers set up a sting, leaving some bill envelopes on the dressing room floor, and videotaped my buddy opening the envelopes and taking the checks. Ha ha ha, he tried to explain it away (said he was going to personally deliver it to the billing company) but got busted and fired. No police because a company can’t entrap its employees and get prosecution of them.

What a wonderful role model this young man is for his sunday school students and all younger people. There are a lot of good kids out there, we just usually get the news about the ones who aren’t. Let’s hear more news about young people who do the right thing.

wyo   December 2nd, 2008 - 5:37 am

this kid ought to be our president.
