Obama Advisers To Public: Temper Expectations

WBBM: President-elect Barack Obama and his inner circle fear that some voters expect him to turn around the economy, wind down the war in Iraq and, perhaps, cure cancer -- all by the Fourth of July. They know they must manage and lower those expectations.

Around five million Obama supporters are expected to show up at the coronation in January.

That’s a whole lot of them in one place at a time.

Look at the Republicans running around like turkeys with their heads cut off at a Palin interview!

You mean I’m not going to have my gas tank filled, my house note paid, my utilities paid by the end of January? I knew he was a liar. I was looking forward to watching him roll back the waters of the atlantic ocean and leading his followers through to the promise land. Be nice if he would do something a little more realistic like show his original birth certificate. He can’t even do that. I’m not talking about the fake one from Hawaii either.

Scroll down to Obama and his birth certificate. You can click on petition to congress there. Good reading also. It is free just to send email but I paid $9.00 to make sure it was delivered by email and by letter to my congressmen.

You gave us HOPE…you said Change was coming soon!

You Promised!!!…WAAAAHHH!

This is just like….”The Music Man”!!

Travis   November 21st, 2008 - 4:51 pm

Empty Suit = Empty Promises!

I hope you Obama voters enjoyed the free t-shirts and kool-aid!

LittleLamb   November 21st, 2008 - 5:03 pm

His team didn’t know about the financial condition of the country until now? Why not? I’m just a regular person and I knew it was coming.

He made all kinds of promises. He can’t just back out of them now. People are going to be very upset with him and the news media if he doesn’t produce wonderful things.

UR Dreaming   November 21st, 2008 - 5:30 pm

So, who is going to pay for my gas and take care of my mortgage?

Duh, of course he will not be able to keep most of his promises. He promised everybody everything, the typical demo campaign strategy. We all knew that he would start backsliding, but not that it would happen this soon! Oh well, they will soon be blaming it all on Bush.

Add Mitch McConnell to the list of RINOS that need to be purged from the party. In an effort to get invited to as many DC cocktail parties next year as he can good old Mitch is now promoting the messiah, Barry Obama.

When will this all end? Where is Ronald Reagan when we really need him?

Nick   November 21st, 2008 - 5:34 pm

LittleLamb-

The Bush economy is still in freefall. No one knows how long the Dubya-ppresion is going to last. Six weeks, six years? Who knows. Do you?
Do you even know whether the stock market is going to be up a thousand points or down a thousand points a week from now? No, I didn’t think so.

Obama’s going to do his best to try to cobble together what’s left of the country. Keep in mind though, under Bush, the country has probably lost almost half its value already. If Obama can get things up to say 60 percent of what they were when Bush got in office, that would be very good.
But Bush has done too much damage to get us back to what we once were. It’s been quite obvious to everyone since before the election that we were all going to have to learn to live with lower expectations. Under McCain things would have been much worse, as he admitted he didn’t understand economics – and that the fundamentals of our economy were still strong.

Frederik   November 21st, 2008 - 5:52 pm

Lower expectations…. But he is the Messiah!

[...] Breitbart, let the halo removal begin. I wonder, who’s going to be the one to tell Peggy Joseph that [...]

Enzo   November 21st, 2008 - 6:23 pm

So…

Barrack Hussein Obama, who campaigned on raised expectations now wants us to lower our expectations.

No worries there… My expectations of HIM could not have been any lower, of any human being alive that infamous November 4th day. I recognized him then as being a liar, endlessly bloviating about what great changes he would do for this country.

Now the spin phrase the media will be regurgitating non-stop, offering him the slack he doesn’t deserve, will be:

“We must lower our expectations.”

Bullschit! I ain’t buying it. “Obama lied, and people died” will be the catch phrase in the near future.

LittleLamb   November 21st, 2008 - 7:30 pm

Nick – I didn’t vote for McCain or Obama. I didn’t feel that either of them had a plan to fix the problems we are facing. It would involve huge cuts in spending. I only heard about new things to spend money on, and how wonderful everything is going to be.

David Walker, the former Comptroller General (appointed during the Clinton administration), quit earlier this year and said that we were going to fall like Rome. I looked at the information at the GAO and was shocked at the numbers. I’m no math genius, but I could clearly see that we are in big trouble. The problem is huge and both parties are responsible for the condition the country is in right now. This didn’t just happen. I have no idea why that information is not on the news.

Ron Paul was talking about these problems during the campaign and he has laughed at. I took his advice and my parents removed all their money from the stock market in January. That “kook” saved them a lot of money.

In regards to what the stock market might be doing in a week, only the plunge protection team would be able to answer that question.

Stan   November 21st, 2008 - 8:27 pm

“Hey, it’s not like he told you he would change the world, or anything. Oh, wait, I guess he did…”

Texan   November 21st, 2008 - 9:28 pm

President-Elect Obeyme says lower your expectations sheeple and get ready for me to take power and rule…with an iron fist!!

Eileen for Freedom/Liberty   November 21st, 2008 - 11:34 pm

Socialist/communistic “new” Democratic definition for “change” = same ol…same ol!

Worst inherited economy was when President Reagan took over the failed Presidency of the “Messiah of Islam’s” mentor…Jimmy (Hamas) Carter…that was the worst!

We have no high expectations for this new leader…they are so low they could never be raised! We know what to expect from him…we saw the signs throughout the last two years!

==============================
AMERICA BLESS GOD – ASK FOR HIS FORGIVENESS FOR THROWING HIM OUT OF OUR HOMES, OUR SCHOOLS, OUR COURTS AND OUR COUNTRY…ASK HIM TO COME AND HEAL OUR NATION AND GRANT US PEACE AND BLESSINGS AS IN DAYS OF OLD!

Nick   November 21st, 2008 - 11:36 pm

LittleLamb-

You’re right! Ron Paul was my first choice.
That was an excellent decision about getting out of the stock market. Unfortunately America seems doomed no matter what at this point.

George Carlin said it well:

CUTTING BACK   November 22nd, 2008 - 3:16 am

The ONLY solution is massive cutbacks on EVERYTHING in ALL budget areas–and that includes national, state, local and YOUR own budget.

People are going to have to STOP PUTTING YOUR HAND OUT AND EXPECTING A BAILOUT, and that goes for all levels–national, state, local, and YOUR OWN HAND.

It might also help to cut back on all those Dept. of Homeland Stupidity agents who have nothing better to do than listen to our domestic phone calls, read our email, and various other snooping activities that must cost a GAZILLION BUCKS and accomplish nothing but make all of us more and more paranoid and resentful of Big Brother.

Just a suggestion.

Clinger   November 22nd, 2008 - 4:38 pm

This is not the worst financial debacle… 29 was and Carters was in the late 70s.
Now No SLACK!!! School’s out!!! You and you handlers said you are the Messiah so hit the ground running with the clairvoyance you said you have. No mistakes and right away fixes and as you indicated all plans will go as plan without failures because you and they are claryvonters!!! Nothing else is expected per the pontifications of the ONE and the DEMs!!! GET ER DONE!!!

LOWER EXPECTATIONS???

After TWO years of promises and revving up the lib-lemmings? Good luck in slowing this hell-bent train down lib-lackys of BHO. You have a whole race of people expecting their car and rent payments to be picked up starting in February. Hell, I have seen some that are mildly disappointed that their FIRST check hasn’t arrived YET.

Kenny C   November 23rd, 2008 - 10:09 am

He’s not too high He’s not too low….Only one’s who were high were the dolts that voted for the “present” congressman.
It’s going to be nice watching you grabbing your ankles and bending over to a guy with a name of AXELROD…lol…and now we got to put up with that little Riceshit for 4 more years….lord have mercy.

Jack Kennedy   November 24th, 2008 - 2:33 pm
