AP: Democratic leaders in Congress have put off a vote on bailing out the auto industry until next month, and want the top companies to present a plan showing the money will make them financially viable.

The lame duck republicans are so determined to undermine the new government, they are willing to destroy America in the process. The stock market has lost 872 points in the last two days because of their obstructionism. A million people have filed for unemployment in the last two weeks. The government is throwing three million more auto workers out on the street. For all you that are glad to see it, do you think your job is safe? This is just the next step to making America a banana republic. Bust the unions, take away health care, take away retirement, take away living wages, take away paid vacations, take away overtime pay. Yes, now you are on the way to working for lower wages comparable to India, Mexico and South America. Remember I warned you. Only 61 days left for the fascists. But Shrub will probably bomb Iran and start WWIII. Then gas will be fifteen dollars a gallon on top of the collapsed economy.

R.J.,

Quit qhining tool! Democrats have the MAJORITY. If they want to pass something, they can. LOL at an Obama landslide and D’s STILL blaming Bush!

And stop whining about the auto workers. Maybe they should stop making crap cars for $47 an hour.

Chris, the present lame duck senate has ONLY a one vote dem majority at this time, and that’s only because LIEberman caucuses with them. And LIEberman is a traitor and really votes with the CONs. But in sixty-one days the dems may have an obstructionist proof majority, if Chambliss loses his runoff, and Franken wins his recount. As far as crap cars, I agree, but the workers can only make the vehicles that are designed for them to build. It’s the CEO’s theat need to be gotten rid of. No more multi-million dollar salaries, million dollar bonuses, and private luxury jets. You sound like you’re satisfied with your six dollar and hour job at McDonalds though. Good for you, ignorance is bliss huh.

Another day — some even suggest a new day — but all we get from the Democrats and their leadership is politics as usual.
On the Big 3 bailout, Sen Reid tells us? “Congress doesn’t need to do anything, Mr President. Treasury (even the Federal Reserve)has all the authority it needs to provide the funds.”
What’s it going to take Mr Reid, for you to realize that its time for you and the Dems to LEAD. Even if some are willing to let you off the hook for your miserable post-2006 performance, there can be no excuse for further delays in shaping and preparing to execute a NEW DIRECTION for our country.
Frankly, I don’t know what more you could ask for in terms of your control over the reins of power. In fact, it may not be possible for it to get any better than it is right now, what with your party’s control of the WH, a virtual super majority in the Senate and a stronger hold on the House.
Thus, in the last analysis, let me suggest an opening strategy. Drop your party’s recent practice of looking for political cover whenever it comes to handling this nation’s tough problems. Avoid, as well, putting things off on our lame duck president and his administration.
Instead, you and your fellow Dems should tell us what we need to do and get on with doing it — or, at the very least, have a plan ready to execute with the opening of the next Congress in January.
Remember, 2010 and another election is not that far off. It should be a sobering thought, but certainly not an exaggeration, that the American people won’t be looking to strengthen your position any further if you don’t produce some pretty impressive results over the next two years.

Let them all fail. American auto workers failed us with overpriced, poorly manufactured crap for years just so they could live well and retire young. Now it is payback time. Maybe now I can buy one of their cars at fire sale pricing, and the legacy mooches can go back to work like the rest of us.

Scroll down to Obama and his birth certificate. You can click on petition to congress there. Good reading also. It is free just to send email but I paid $9.00 to make sure it was delivered by email and by letter to my congressmen.
