Promote aggression at an early age so it is deeply ingrained in the psyche. After training young men to kill others in our armed forces and then lightly sending them all over the world to ply thier trade (Korea, Vietnam, Iraq), don’t act so surprised to see them encourage martial arts in their offspring and young charges.

You can develop any trait in a healthy way and in a detrimental way. Take patience – explain patience to a kid with orderly encouragement and discipline, or backhand him across the mouth everytime he asks for something. See the difference?

Encouraging proper strength and showing your sons how to stand up for themselves is one thing – letting them show the fullest measure of conflict to their BROTHERS is completely different. Find me any solid respected man and chances are that he had order, respect,restraint, and peace in his home – not one where beating up on their siblings was encouraged.

The difference between healthy growth and detrimental growth is the difference between a respected man and a kid in jail.

The guy is a criminal. As a military officer, father of young children, former boxer and martial arts blackbelt, I find this disgusting.

There’s a way to teach a kid how defend himself that doesn’t involve him getting him being victimized. Even in the ultimate/cage fighting competitions, when one guy has had enough and wants out, they stop the match and it is over. Not to mention the referees, coaches, and medical officials who can also stop the fight. This dad had no intention of stopping it until the unwilling participant was physically hurt.

Hopefully, the military justice system will get a hold of him instead of letting the civil authorities handle it…
