EVERY single Obama supporter that I’ve spoken to since the election has said that they voted for Obama because he promised “change”. When I pressed alittle further and asked them what kind of “change” they were hoping for with his presidency, what accomplishments of Obama they were most impressed with, and what policies they would like to see implemented, they all said (in so many words) that they were just excited that Obama was going to “bring everyone together” and/or “unify” the country.

Obama’s actual policy platform? They had ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE what his proposals were and what types of promises that he had made.

I was saddened (and angered) that the voting public really didn’t know what kind of person they were actually voting for. It does not speak kindly of the majority of the American people (who voted for Obama). It just makes us look really dumb to everyone else.

6. About 1.2 TRILLION more in domestic spending

7. Gov health care, if it meets Michael Moores Cuban standard it may save the economy, except Grandma and Granpaw will be dead along with the premos.

8. He want’s to dump unlimited amount of cash in the auto industries without sacrifices from management and UNIONS. Union workers makes 3 to 4 times as his southern cousins but can’t give a little and agree to some kind off profitt sharing?

6. HE want’s to tax the h*ll out of the oil industry. Isn’t Mobil like the 14th largest oil company. I beleive we don’t have any in the top ten. What’s the DEMO’s goal, none in the top 20?

All they heard was Obama was out to get those nasty rich people – those people earning about $200k a year – PAYING ALL THE TAXES – you know those horrible business owners, job creators. Obama divided Americans by class and conquered the people paying most of the taxes, creating most of the jobs, and investing most of the money. We definitely should return to the days when only property owners were allowed to vote – only those with a stake in keeping American financially strong -only those interested in their country, in the politicians that make decisions which impact all of us. The founders had it right – property owners get to vote!

i guess rj just learned the word fascist because he likes using it a lot. seems to me that the dictatorship would more likely come from the one wanting to create the large civilian military force.

nick 11/18 @ 12:43 may be making a reasonable point, however, if anyone has half a brain they could probably figure out that it is possible to be worse than the last 8 years. voting against the last 8 years without knowing facts can be harmful to your health.

What about asking the same questions to a similar cross-section of McCain voters? It’s not just Obama voters, it’s all voters that are generally not well informed. And you can’t really blame the media. They are just putting out the stories that sell. There is plenty of information out there for anyone who wants it. But the average American just doesn’t bother, and prefers to watch CNN or Fox if any news at all.

That said, people on either side did hear enough about Obama and McCain to decide between the two of them. Just because the average voter doesn’t care enough about politics to know anything about Congress doesn’t invalidate his or her vote for president.

This is serious, I’m am really scared this country is lost. Thank you new media. I hope you all go down before the country does. All these people interviewed I bet would know Paris Hilton.
