Religious people (Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, whatever) have spent at least the last two thousand years twisting and distorting people’s minds about sex.

Consensual sex is good. It is natural, normal, wholesome, and interesting to everybody. All of the negativity applied to it is abnormal. Look at the words we use…..dirty, pervert, slut, whore, sinful, nasty, deviant, smut, etc., etc. Why do we condemn something we all like? Because of religion.

It is religion that gives people twisted attitudes about our nature.

Arjuna, I agree that Christianity has over interpreted sex as being always wicked and I am a devout believer in Jesus. I did an exhaustive study on the word fornication, which is often used to characterize unwed sex. In studying the meaning of the word I could not reconcile the two. Fornication has to do more with idolatry and sex for money than anything else, yet is almost exclusively used by the Church to discuss things like unwed sex and masturbation.

I came to the conclusion that the Church of old perverted the meaning of this word intentionally to “create more sinners”. After all, if they could convince everybody they were a sinner, they could gather more tithing. Don’t penalize the God of the Bible on this one; point your fingers at the Christian Churches who have used the natural God-given desire for sex to manipulate people into seeking forgiveness at the Church.
