Bernardine Dohrn comes close to correctly assessing what made millions of people uneasy about Obama’s relationship with unrepentant terrorists. The problem is that Ayers and Dohrn are also unrepentant communists who have been very open about their desire to destroy our capitalist economic system and replace it with a communist system run by illectual elites. Since our Constitution will not allow this, it would have to be dismantled piece by piece with law suit after law suit. Obama has never been ignorant of Ayers’ ideological goals, so why would he agree to serve on boards with Ayers and help raise money for Ayer’s pet projects? Dohrn lied when she said Obama was thoroughly vetted. He may have been thoroughly vetted by the two of them and the Communist Party USA, but he was not vetted at all by the media or the Democrat party. Obama describes himself as a Constitutional lawyer, and in 2001 he expressed his dissatisfaction with our Constitution for containing no provision to distribute wealth. Guilt by association? You betcha! Obama and Ayers share the same anti-American world view taught at all the Ivy League colleges. The next four years are going to be very interesting.
These two are just trying to grab their 15 minutes in the spotlight and the media is nourishing their hunger. If Governor Palin had been present, we would have seen a true well-rounded trio of castaways. There are plenty of nuts to go around…..Please don’t panic.

Getting hired in Universities as educators is pathetic, and the fact that they both are teaching at any level is beyond comprehension. Can’t recall exactly at what point I first picked up on the Obama-Ayers connection (it certainly wasn’t from the MSM). Also can’t recall the first time I saw the quotation Larry Grathwohl gives of the Weathermen deciding that those who don’t achieve enlightenment within the period provided will simply have to be liquidated. But some weeks ago, before the election, I ran across and bought a copy of Grathwohl’s 1976 book. As background it was quite interesting, but in several respects it left me disappointed. First and foremost, Grathwohl’s cover was blown pretty early in the game, within a couple of months after the Weathermen purged everyone they deemed to be insufficiently committed (Nb. Is it possible for a left-wing nut job outfit to do anything, anything at all, without a purge?) in the course of sundry self-criticism sessions (Nb. Ditto), but before they really started lighting things up. And because of the organization’s cell structure, Grathwohl doesn’t get much of a picture of what’s going on in the rest of the group. There is a reference in there to Ayers expressing outrage that Bernardine, poor little dear, actually had to build and place a bomb all by herself in a California police station, because no one else could muster up the moxie to get it done right. One wishes the interviewer here had asked if her jubilation on Election Night matched in its intensity her feelings when she heard that the bomb she’d personally placed went off (perhaps her joy on the earlier occasion was tempered by not being able to off a pig or twelve in the explosion). But the liquidation quotation is not in there, an omission I found odd, given its extremity and in comparison to the material that did get into the book. A quick Amazon search shows only one other book by Grathwohl, so I’m wondering whether this quotation shows up in materials predating this election cycle. If our soon-to-be president hangs out with unrepentant terrorists (and don’t hand me this “former” nonsense; we don’t refer to “former” SS prison guards, although it’s been sixty-plus years since they herded their last trainload into the chambers; likewise, is Charles Manson (he whom Bernardine praises so highly) a “former” murderer . . . or just a presently-thwarted murderer?), and he does, I’d hate for the legitimate outrage of what’s left of American decency to be compromised by made-to-order quotations. If it were impermissible to have Klaus Barbie, Josef Mengele, or Pol Pot with the Oval Office direct line on his speed dial, why is it unobjectionable for these criminals to have it? McCain should have, at each and every campaign event, taken a brief moment to commemorate one or more Weather Underground bombings that occurred on that date. His people should have been all over the Chicago Annenberg records by February at the latest, and The One should have been required to justify each and every one of the lunatic groups on which he pissed away $100,000,000 or so (my understanding, and correct me if I’m wrong, is that $49-odd million came from the Annenberg Foundation, but they got matching funds from elsewhere . . . and squandered the lot). Every one of those outfits had to state in its grant application, in writing, what they proposed to do with the money, and each and every one of those mission statements should have been read, in full, by the McCain campaign, and The One asked if *that* was his vision for a changed America. McCain’s a decent guy, an honorable person, and maybe the personally toughest man to run for the office since A. Jackson, and I voted for him (twice, including in 2000), notwithstanding his having waged the most successful attack on the First Amendment since the Alien and Sedition Acts, but Jesus Christ and General Jackson! (Adm. Halsey’s expletive) he sure forgot the saying (current in the surface navy, so maybe with his aviator’s background he missed it): Sink with an empty magazine. McCain, for all we do and will regret his loss, for reasons of what he seems to have felt his personal honor, chose not to engage with his biggest guns. I can’t argue with his sense of honor (and no honest person can; there are some who can say, as did Genl. Marshall did when attacked for having “lost” China, that if after all he’d done in his life for his country, he still had to apologize, then it wasn’t worth making the effort), but maybe if his honor had been a wee less punctilious, we wouldn’t be looking at entrusting our country’s destiny, at an extremely vulnerable juncture, to the ambitions of a cadre that, when you boil it all down, still thinks that for 132 years the United States has got it wrong, and that the wrong side won the Cold War.
