So there were some pretty odd things going on there with Nancy that could have been dealt with better medically. Only years later when H.W. Bush was higher than a cootie on Halcion did white house doctors start taking a very proactive stance on making sure that the president and such really were treated for obvious problems. A little counseling would have helped Nancy a lot back then.
Obama’s mention of it is borderline tacky. He should have skipped that comment. Nancy was not well at that time and the astrology thing was symptom of her problems rather than anything she would now consider a great idea on how to run a presidency. H.W Bush trying to give a news conference when he was so stoned he couldn’t even talk was far more of a real concern. One thing we can all say good about G.W. Bush is that he kept himself in excellent health, didn’t drink, and is quite sane. “Smart” is a matter for debate, but medically he has no problems.
Let’s all prey that God protects Obama from the stress and stain both physically and mentally of his new job. And if he ever does have a problem, let’s hope the White House doctors do their job in treating it. They can be very thankful it was not old McCain with Palin waiting next in line… But we love Sarah and really want her to run against Obama in 2012 :D

Reagan played the big cowboy, but he didn’t make the slightest move without Nancy’s approval. She wore the pants in that marriage – and things didn’t change when he became president. Call it hen-pecked, call it whipped – it was disgusting.
One other thing about Reagan that nobody wants to talk about: It was very obvious early on during Reagan’s first term that he was experiencing dementia or Alzheimers. So when there was an official diagnosis of Alzheimers in 1994, it wasn’t exactly a surprise.
